  1. :lipsrseal May work as a bug repellant or help with annoying bugs?
  2. Thanks for the picture, SuzyK. They are actually cute. Are the fire starters scented? Do you add more FO to the used wax and dip the pine cones in your wax?
  3. Not sure i know what a fire starter is. I am speaking of wax from a melt where the fragrance is gone or used up.
  4. Hey ~ Where or how is everyone disposing of their used wax?
  5. I will know what's a keeper and what goes in the other pile. Thanks!
  6. Well, that is very helpful. At least I will have an indication whether a particular FO will throw in soy but the only way to determine how much it will throw goes back to our motto which is to test, test, test and then test some more. Thanks!
  7. That's interesting. From your experience does it mean that it will throw at all in soy?
  8. I have EL, Xcel and GB464 soy waxes. I want to try a few fragrances but I plan to use the FOs in 415 soy. Will I get the same scent throw using a different soy? If a fragrance throws well in a particular soy wax, is that an indication that it will throw well in another soy? I'm very curious as to what I should expect so I appreciate your input.
  9. This container is almost the same size as a votive. Whatever wick you use for your votive will work well in this container. You mentioned the 36 zinc core wick. The 36 is too small but the 41 will perform better from my experience with this adorable little container. HTH
  10. They definitely look like they belong on the display rack at Spa Sydell. There is nothing homemade looking about the presentation at all. Do you use a top/cap over or on the pump?
  11. Yes, as I stated, I did read the website before posting the question and it has the word "soap" in the name of the company. I was curious if others were using these FOs in wax. You answered my question, thanks, and as in previous responses, you supplied additional information. One other question, what percent fragrance to wax in your melts?
  12. What are these FOs used for ...candles, soaps, tarts? I did go to the website. I guess the better question is what do you use the FOs in?
  13. Imc, How did your testing go? Do you care to share your results?
  14. Karen, Am I understanding correctly? Did you test each of these FOs in one weekend? How did your testing go? Do you care to share your results?
  15. How did the testing go? Do you care to share your results?
  16. Try double wicking with the smaller wicks, for example, if you use and like the LX series, try two LX 12 or 14s; zinc core, two 41s; Stablio, two 6s or 7s, etc. Whatever series you use, try one size up from whatever size you use for your votive. HTH
  17. Welcome! Like ChandlerWicks, I am also looking forward to learning from your years of wisdom. Glad you joined us. We are always thirsty for more knowledge in understanding the science of candle making.
  18. You're right and sometimes the abbreviation is not related to candle making. I try to jot down the ones I come across to look up later and I have my lists scribbled everywhere
  19. Thanks for the suggestions, Karen and Moonshine. I will probably try one from your suggestion Karen, I've been using my helpful list of abbreviations and I have come across a few that aren't on the list though.
  20. Okay. You guys convinced me to try the wax. Since I will be placing an order, I would like to order some FOs. Any recommendations or suggestions? Thanks!
  21. Congratulations and continued success!!!
  22. Wow! There is a lot of valuable and useful information in this thread. I've got to really study the information contained in this thread. Maybe I'll be able to offer a comment after I've read it a few more times. Thanks everybody for their input and sharing their expertise!!
  23. Cajun Candle Supply was listed in the recent scent survey as one of the three of my favorites. I would say I've tried probably 70-80% of their fragrances. My list would be too long to list all of my favorites. There are only a couple of fragrances I've tried that didn't have a good CT and HT. Generally their fragrances burn very clean and they are the same weight, meaning you can use the same wick for 90% of their fragrances once you've identified a wick for a particular container. Personally I don't care very much for Coco-Mango but everyone else loves it. They used to carry the best Sandalwood you've ever smelled. I've been trying to find one comporable for over a year and call Pam from time to time to see if she has found a replacement. Can't go wrong with them ... fragrances are very good IMO.
  24. These are very pretty. Did you make the scrubby?
