  1. This is the coolest idea! Post a pic when you have some made?
  2. From Candlescience: Lovespell type - smells exactly like Love spell from Victoria's Secret and works great in GB464 - lots of compliments of this one Baby Powder Angel (Haven't tried yet but smells like a women's cologne from bottle) Clean Cotton Day at the Spa - smells somewhat like lemon drops but not too sweet
  3. Ideas... Fresh Orchard Cobbler = spiced apples & peaches Nana's Apple Gingerbread = Gingerbread applesauce Apple Cider(Cider is usually spiced so like it simple) = Spiced Cider Vanilla or Harvest Spice Cake = Cinnamon Bread Pudding Holidays make me crave my grandma's pumpkin rolls and Nana's gingerbread......
  4. Lots and lots of paper towels and then I wash with Dawn dish soap and hot water. I also have goo gone which is a miracle worker for my 2 year olds crayon messes and the mess I make of my kitchen.
  5. Okay, results are in......two of 8 are cracked around one cube. It doesn't really look bad but am going to try to fix with a blowdryer on low setting to see what happens. I think I might use a little IGI 4633 in the next batch to see if this makes the final product less brittle.
  6. I was calling around to see about getting in a couple of craft shows in two different towns and was informed that I could not bring my clamshells or warmers because a Scentsy rep was already booked for both shows. Somehow that doesn't seem right that someone who is simply reselling something knock out someone else who is making homemade items in arts/craft shows. Also, I got the feeling that if I had applied before the Scentsy consultant that Scentsy would have still been allowed. Oh well, at least I found an antique store that I can put my products in
  7. oops (meant ecosoya pb with CB135 mix)
  8. Just got finished with the batch of 75/25 and closed the lids once they set up. I also fill mine to overflowing so havent had cracks. Will see tomorrow if mix makes the difference. Still wondering about the CB135 10% extremely white flakes.....will look at other threads.
  9. I just bought plastic lids that cover and have a center hole so that customers can still smell the fragrance. They look great and are very inexpensive. Personally, I always threw away the lids on the Yankee jars because I had toppers prior to candle making and my fave candles came from a local small business that didn't use toppers at all but cheap cello wrapping. Quality comes in all kinds of packaging.
  10. Just opened a new bag of CB135 and a little concerned. It has bright white flakes mixed in with the normal soy colored? Scared to waste my FO and containers but going to try one batch.
  11. I am using 75% Ecosoya PB and 25% GB 464 and let the wax cure almost 24 hours before closing lids but the lids are kinda of tricky as some don't close perfectly without a little gentle guidance. I will try the Ecosoya PB/135 mix also since almost out of GB464 and let ya know what happens.
  12. I made my first wood wick and am soooo excited! The wicks came from Lonestar as well as the libby glass. I used 75% IGI 4633/25% GB464, CS Strawberry Shortcake FO @ 1 oz per pound, large wicks, 12 oz status jars. There was only one wet spot on one jar, and no repours needed. The scent throw is great for a fruity scent and there is a nice light crackling sound. My hubster is trying to calm me down(keep jumping around living room muting sportscenter) but he likes it really well too!
  13. I almost gave up on soy in the beginning but have decided it has to be mixed with paraffin to get the kind of results I want. There are all kinds of threads explaining the mix ratios so you might try checking those also.
  14. I have been ordering from Lonestar and they carry a great selection of Libby. So far they have managed to get my orders to me within a day (shipping cost is awesome) but I live in Oklahoma City and they are in Dallas. Extremely happy with their service on wax and container supply. Walmart has many options for Mason and Ball jelly jars right now. Good luck!
  15. Email me, I will let ya know what I have left The pm thingy isn't working for me, not sure why.
  16. Yeah, I am finding out the supplier makes all the difference on FO's. It's so weird that cost isn't what it is about but supplier. Used 1 oz of LoveSpell type from CS and got excellent results this morning. :yay:I'm going to try another vendor that was mentioned in another thread because CS was outrageous on shipping.
  17. Ya'll are soooo great! I just love this forum. I will add more paraffin to see how it turns out. Two more new waxes will be arriving on Wednesday and will try adding more paraffin(think I have J223 but not sure) to see what happens......I'm going to have a ton of accidental Christmas presents to give this year
  18. Wondering about this also. I have been using 1.5 to 2 oz of FO per pound of wax and it works great with some scents but not very well at all with others, especially the "type" FOs. Can you add Vybar to get a better throw when using 464/paraffin mix? I'm pretty new to the wickless so trying everything under the sun. Also, have decided that some vendors are better than others for the FO's but hate spending so much money for shipping samples. *getdown*
  19. I sadly have 13 of the Scentsy warmers taking up space in my stock room and cannot sell them with my own line of products....or can I? Average Scentsy consultant cost is $22.50 for a warmer.......they will never wholesale anything because they encourage their new consultants to buy a minimum of 10 warmers within 30 days of sign up. I'm sticking with candlewarmers.com and iffen I want something extra pretty I will bust out the ceramic paints and glue.
  20. This whole post is scaring me as an ex accounting person turned crafter.
  21. I'm having the same problem and will be ordering even more wax on Monday after talking to supplier for recommendations. Please post what works for you. So far, the Gold 464 mixed with regular paraffin 90/10 worked okay but am not super happy with scent throw (this may be due to the FO though) so I ordered two more last week and made a disaster batch last night
  22. No, I'm in Oklahoma City. Wish I was closer though, your displays are gorgeous, would love to see them in person! I'm learning much from your posts and need all the help I can get. So much to learn!!!
  23. Oh don't give them too much of your money! lol, I've never liked Yankee tarts because they are so hard to clean out of warmers....the wax is hard and has to be scraped. Hallmark stores in my area carry all their stuff also if you can find one nearby. Jealous of your canyon fun
  24. I posted a list of how long they last on the new forum talking about comparisons. The very strongest ones will last 5 days(max) if using a full bar but there were only about 5 scents that would do that. Their scents seems to coincide with our fragrances that we are producing meaning citrus lasts the least amount of time. If anyone wants scent samples for comparison just let me know since the Scentsy is hanging around taking up room for my new wonderful homemade stuff Something funny, I told my Scentsy Star lady(whatever) that I was quitting and she told me about someone at a craft show making imitation Scentsy.......I reminded her that at least 80% of Scentsy are knock offs from other companies....lol. We just don't have money to market like them.....and we come up with original scents much more often!
  25. Hopefully this will help......I am an ex-consultant(2nd job while working corporate world so no laughing) If you would like to get anything Scentsy that I have leftover for comparison just let me know. Here are some of the fragrance times that I got from burning Scentsy non-stop in a 25 watt full size Scentsy warmer using about 2 oz of wax. Their scents seem to last longer by warming in a plug-in (7 watt) warmer though and using one little cube. Pima Cotton = 4 days Clean Breeze = 3 Days Blueberry Cheesecake = 3 days Strawberry Sweety = 2 days Sugar Cookie = 3 days Grape Granita = 3 days Berry Blush = 3 days Tropical Twist = 3 days Lemongrass = 2 to 3 days Watermelon Patch = 2 days Simply Irresistible = 2 to 3 days Pumpkin Roll = 4 days Leather = 3 days Cherry Limeade = 2 days Lucky In Love = 2 days Orange Dreamsicle = 2 days Bubblegum = 2 or 3 days There are more but can't remember off the top of my head. Scentsy seems to average about 48-60 hours and the stronger scents can be smelled outside of my house on the first day. I want that scent throw but am having trouble depending which fragrance it is. Some are more powerful but others are less. I'm starting to think that Scentsy uses different wax for different scents? Go little guys!
