  1. How cool would be to have a trailer with everything organized to go from show to show......ummmm dreaming again.
  2. Right on. Look at the flashpoint of the wax instead of the FO flashpoint. The FO is a small percent compared to the wax. I pour at 180 or so also for smooth tops because wet spots don't bug me.
  3. At the last craft show it seemed like EVERYONE was wearing collegiate clothing, me included, so I wanted to try making two scents dedicated to the fans. Boomer Sooner (will be red/crimson) was thinking Amish Harvest from Peaks but a little sweeter smell Pistol Pete Power (will be orange) was thinking an strong citrus with an underlying perfume note like the Happy perfume? So, looking for ideas for good year round fragrances that would appeal to just about anyone. Thoughts? TIA!
  4. Three shows on one weekend??!?! You are amazing girlie. This weekend was my first show with serious crafters who travel and do nothing but the big shows. I learned so much and am totally hooked. There were 5 other booths doing clamshell wax but we sold 75% of all wax/warmer inventory and about half of the other stuff. It took 3 of us to handle the booth most of the day with 2 selling and one giving breaks because there simply wasn't room in the booth. I also made some great contacts and have some possible wholesale accounts.
  5. Today was the best ever and busiest craft show I've ever seen. One lady started ranting at me because her favorite Scentsy bars keep turning from lime to orange/brown color and she wanted to know exactly why, lol. I told her mine were homemade(3 times as she was too angry to listen) She ended up buying mine after I explained why her wax discolors which her Scentsy rep couldn't do. Hehe.. We basically listened to Scentsy complaints throughout the day(mainly they don't last very long) and converted the customers. 75% of my inventory is sold. Beautiful! Scentsy really does drive sales..away from themselves
  6. Was thinking of adding a little something to Peak's cotton candy to make it like Pink Sugar because of the pricing difference. They smell pretty similar but then again by the end of the pouring day....who knows about the nose.
  7. We use 4 full size Scentsy warmers in different parts of our house and my son put in an entire clam shell of Pink Sugar (he loves, haha) in his full size warmer that is at least a year old the other night and it melted faster than Scentsy wax. The wax was uniformly melted throughout and excellent scent throw however it was 60/40 IGI 4794 GB464. I have not had much luck with 100% soy using Scentsy warmers which is why I switched to a mix. After the Christmas season, I plan on experimenting more with their wax and warmers, and my wax & thermometers to see exactly what is going on but I think their stuff is over rated and over priced.
  8. I think you can get the thick rubber mats with holes in them at Sam's Club. My dad uses them in his restaurant next to the grills/fry laders, prep stations and has them taken to the car wash when they get slippery. Wax could be justed brushed off with a stiff broom. Put some lawn trash bags or painters plastic underneath a couple of these mats and you would have very little floor cleaning.....and as said by paradise, they are wonderful on the feet because of the thick rubber.
  9. My step mom showed me something but it could incorporate many craft ideas to do. It's something called Holiday pockets which are cut off old jeans and decorated, then hung from door knobs ect. I thought that they should be filled with fragrance, embossed on the outside with wording, and then decorated. They basically use household stuff. Email me and I will show you the pics of what she made. Easy easy!
  10. Scentsy isn't supposed to be sold on Ebay but plenty of them are doing it....how hard is it to use a husbands name or something? Lol!
  11. I'm with you on using Paypal as a seller. Let's write and let them know.
  12. I have the Peak's bug also....I ordered two of the sampler packs and got them in last week. Love love love their FO's. My poor parents that live 20 minutes from Peak's warehouse are coming to OKC for Thanksgiving and volunteered to pick up an order for me. One order turned into 3. Oops! Good thing they have a van. heheheeeee
  13. I was not talking about babies but 3T/4T sized underwear ad on Craigslist, think of the stains.... Diaper services are wonderful because they can clean things out that our household washers cannot, even if soaked overnight in bleach and Tide. Why not give stuff away rather than list it on Craig's list? The ad for 2 used Scenty bars is comical Think of the dumb phone calls she is going to get....lol Thanks for the laugh.
  14. Love jillybeans idea! You could also try making the jilly beans(same scent but maybe a cute complimenting color) and putting a few in the clamshells as they are just setting up? Not sure if it would work but that way you could still use clamshells and jillybeans.... There are people on Ebay that make custom molds. You could possibly get a mold made(or make one yourself) that is a big jelly bean(like a 2oz size) and sell them like alot of people sell the regular tarts. Can't wait to see what you come up with
  15. People put the weirdest stuff on Craigslist!!! I once saw a used lot of potty training underwear, ya you can bleach but gross! I don't see how she can sell them, make a couple of dollars and get someone to pay shipping....lol. Lots of work there.
  16. My main customers have been women in their later 20's and up vs super mall crowd. My sister who is a 3x a week mall chic didn't know what Pink Sugar was and I didn't either. I think Love Spell is more well know though so might switch back. I love the Pink Sugar Martini idea and Vixen! I have one named Cowgirl Sexy that sells well but it's just sex on the beach from CS, hehe. Has anyone mixed Pink Sugar with Sweet Pea? I did batches back to back and think I will make a recipe for customers to mix cubes
  17. Funny! My company name is Serendipity Scentsations.
  18. I carry Love Spell also but named it Love Charm....not happy with that name but it sells well.
  19. I just tried Pink Sugar from Peak's last week and fell in LOVE! So far, all my company this weekend have also liked it so am adding it to my line but wanted opinions on naming it. Should I leave it Pink Sugar? What do you think about Angel Candy instead? Any other name ideas? Thanks in advance
  20. I have been going nuts trying to get in another order since last night because my parents are coming from Denver and picking orders up tomorrow to bring with them. It's frustrating but their warehouse is closed today anyway so I guess waiting until tomorrow will not make a difference.
  21. A candle, when burning is pretty hot. Flashpoint is when something can will catch fire all by itself...combining the FO with wax makes the flash point much higher. Wax flashpoint is generally 390 degrees which is why you can light candles and they don't explode.
  22. Peak's sent me Paris Twilight as a sample. It's hard to describe so bare with me.....my hubster helped:) It's grapefruit, peach, hint of flower. Very uplifting scent.....not sure why they called it twilight. I keep sniffing it and the name still doesnt make sense because grapefruit makes me think of breakfast. I really like it though!
  23. I don't know about your area but in OKC, Scentsy is literally everywhere. In my experience, most people at craft shows are looking for original items instead of something they can get from a co-worker, family or neighbor. There are alot of people that will buy because they prefer locally made products. "Real" craft shows are harder to find. Look for Juried shows which means everything is hand made. They will usually ask you for info like pictures and/or your website. Juried craft shows are more picky but they will not allow Scentsy, Tupperware, Mia Bella, or things like that in their show.
