  1. I'd like to revive this thread because I'm looking for this dupe. Any new places?
  2. Please keep us posted I'm interested in this thread.
  3. I would love to know why you are straying that might be another thread too....but I'm thinking of the same thing.
  4. I'm so thankful for all your answers! I had planned on the rainbow cake but I had not thought cupcakes so this is even better!!!! The girls are all 16-18 so we can do all fragrances and I would love suggestions for this age range. Patch is one of my own fav's so it for sure is a fragrance. My daughter loves NG's Hippy Christmas so we will do that one and I'd love other suggestions. We are also doing incense. As for instructions below....I'm going to test and let you all know! Keep the suggestions coming though!
  5. My daughter is having a 60's party and I was going to make Tye Dyed or Rainbowcandles to give to all the girls, however, she saw these on the internet and thought I would ask how they are made if anyone knows? I would like to give them as party favors and maybe let them burn them during the party, doing all 60's type scents. I only work with 415 and PB. Anyone have any idea how this is achieved? Aren't they cute? If not I'll just order some here as I don't have a lot of time. Thanks in advance.
  6. I sell a lot of Sweet Orange Chili Pepper, but I agree, it doesn't have the fine notes, but it is really a very nice one with a big throw. I'm a citrus lover so this is the bomb for me. I have thought about mixing it with the Salsa fragrance they have, but haven't tried that one yet.
  7. I'm not a soaper but I'm intrigued with how you achieve the black line. Very very pretty soaps. I just may have to indulge!
  8. My favorite is NG Sweet Orange Chili Pepper.
  9. I have this scent but have not tried it yet. Look at the reviews on their site. Blackberry Fizz from NG
  10. I've loved Nature's Garden FO's and love love love their customer service and how helpful they are in answering any questions you might have. They ship extremely fast! Their line of FO's is really extensive and they listen to their consumers. There you have a lot of choices. Maybe someone who told you that tried, got one of those scents that are totally wonderful in other products, but just doesn't like the soy for some reason. Also I think curing time for some things is really long, and impatiently people try to sell or burn too quickly before the cure is complete. One of those that take a long cure for my soy products is Sugar Cookie Brulee. It smells awesome though I have to wait several weeks to really get a good throw with it. I've tried many of the fragrances and all in all they are great in soy. Some I personally love and some I'm just happy I got a tester. I think it is exactly the same for every company you can get FO's from. Personal "tastes" in a scent also matter. Thanks!
  11. If you don't want to spend the money on the presto with the spout right now, I would suggest a flat top electric warmer (Walmart) to put your pour pot on and melt right in your pour pot if you are making smaller batches in the beginning. Don't get the coil exposed kind. I don't know how much you are wanting to do but this I would suggest if you are just starting and want to see if you like making candles. Once you graduate to needing more wax you will for sure invest in a presto or something larger. Now or later...that is the question
  12. Thanks for all your replies, I'm testing today.
  13. I've been playing around with PB for a while now and I get a really good product with 25% PB and other soy wax. No frosting and they still pop out easily, great throws. I save money this way with the PB and have all the benefits. I've even made containers with it. So a little will go a long way and you can save some money too!
  14. I also use the hot pink from Lonestar and LOVE it and it is really a gorgeous hot pink!!
  15. I'm looking for the Black 70 mm threaded lids to fit 8oz Mason Jars. What is the best deal out there anyone know? Thanks in advance! Lorelei
  16. I'm so sorry to hear about that happening I know that must be frightening. I've always loved my wood wicks purchased retail, however I never let them burn for hours and hours and hours. What about other wicks? I'm using CB PB. Has anyone tried these with either that wax or GB 115? Thought I might save a little testing time.
  17. I was at the Lonestar store two days ago and wanted to get wood wicks for interlude jars. They said that no one was having much luck with wood wicks and soy, yet I see them everywhere. I was so discouraged that I didn't buy the wicks and now feel I should have and just tested so now I sit with jars and forgot to get wicks for them! UGH! Any experience along soy/woodwick/interlude jars? Also since I went ahead and bought the 12 oz interlude jars, suggestion on wicking now I haven't gotten the wood wicks? Thanks in advance.
  18. I've done my testing with FO testers in soy and I'm ready to roll. I want to do a Christmas line so my question is, should I just buy ahead those FO's in a large quantity and pray they sell, take orders and deliver praying the FO's arrive in time. How did you all get started? Additionally how long will the FO's really last in the bottle? Finally how early can we make ahead tarts to sell, how long before they start "getting old" and can anything help prevent their demise? Thanks a lot for answering in advance! Lorelei
  19. I need to ask a question about melting soy in a presto. If we melt more than we need at the time, (No FO added) will it harm the soy to let it set back and remelt it again for the next time? I've not worked with soy before so I wanted to make sure I could do this.
