  1. I'd love to know how your orders went from this company!
  2. It's lovely and light....springy! Great job!
  3. I use GB 415 and use CD 10 or 12 depending on the FO in that jar. I think you can use the same wick in the jar with the 464 if you make the following adjustments: Heat wax to 180-185 degrees Pour at 135 degrees. Try 180 first then cure for a couple of days then try 185 You haven't told us what FO and manufacturer you are using so that would help a whole lot. I'm sorry if you did say this but this thread was hijacked by ego so maybe I missed it as I passed over that nonsense. Let us know what FO you are using and we might have a different suggestion. There are still other things you can do, however, lets try to systematically work with what you have right now. Hope this might help!
  4. The DPG I have doesn't have an odor that I could detect.
  5. I rotate my purchases between paypal and CC so hubby won't know how much I really spend
  6. Maybe I should have asked how are you orienting the labels, vertically or horizontally. Thanks for the info but I am still up in the air with these silly labels!
  7. Hi all, Are any of you using these bottles and if so how are you labeling them? I've tried several ways to fit everything in and can't seem to find the perfect way to do it. Suggestions? Lorelei
  8. My Lovespell from CS takes FOREVER to cure, I usually wait 10 days for it. I don't like the scent when I make it but everyone seems to love it...I think it smells like vomit. LOL Congrats on the HT!!
  9. Welcome, and I can tell you about Lonestar. I'm about 5 hours from there but drove over when I was in Ft. Worth in October. They have a "sniffer room" and all of their glassware on display in their reception area. Every single fragrance oil they have and all of their products are displayed. I spent about 2 hours there going through the catalog, and making my order. They have order blanks there so when you find a fragrance you want to try, you can just write it down. It is nice too because you can see the glassware and actually imagine the candles you could make from them. The girls behind the desk are very knowledgeable about the products and wax. They will be able to help you decide what you will need to start off with. Being able to pick up wax and glassware is very beneficial. Lonestar has some really nice fragrances as well. Start small or you will develop a terrible addiction Best to you! Lorelei
  10. Humanitarian help would be great to be a food scent? Cornbread, Sugar Corn Pudding for sure in a soy candle since soybeans are often given as humanitarian aid.
  11. I'm using both from NG and did a 50/50 mix.
  12. I mixed Mystic Orange Moonstone with some Nag Champa....to die for seriously. I have some serious Patchouli clients...Always trying something new for them.
  13. Absinthe is my absolute favorite since I got my first bottle. Such a beautiful complex fragrance. I also really love Mexican Fried IceCream. I mix it with a strong vanilla and have a really nice complex vanilla scent. Alone it is very nice too! Fortunately I have oh...a hundred or so testers I play with.
  14. Would love to hear from those of you that have tried the USA
  15. Are you maybe looking for some suggestions of what we interpret in our own applications to be strong scents?
  16. Google analytics is really great, and I highly recommend it. There is a help section so you can learn what each section does and how to set it. Very easy. It is one of the best out there.
  17. I have a friend that used to be an expert witness in investigations and court cases for hacking and fraud. He used to tell me how these things happened. Don't forget our own credit card companies also can be hacked. I recall a case where whole blocks of credit card numbers were stolen and then used after a hacker was able to penetrate for a short period of time. These numbers were then sold to other hackers who used them to purchase games etc. Also the same used to happen with long distance cards that could be purchased. My bank sent out a notice this summer that some Visa card numbers were compromised. Yikes. It makes me wonder if there are other people also outside of the candle/soaper community that were hacked on those dates above?
  18. I have ICS Zucchini Bread, and it does have a strong Zucchini smell, and I actually like it, but I'm wondering if it could be blended with something else to make it more bakery like as well.
  19. You all are killing me with the soap! I'm not going to break down I'm not....I can't start more projects, I can't!!! These are gorgeous!
  20. They are beautiful!!! They look like you've been making them for a long time. Great job! I've been so wanting to soap...but I can't seem to get over my FO addiction at present. HELP! I can't even think of soaping and adding more things to my room!
  21. I have a wholesale proposal but they want to smell the scents of a couple dozen different ones. They want me to formulate special blends of oil for a private label in their exclusive day spa. They are not in my area. Any ideas how to get them fragrance samples? I don't mean to hijack this thread but it is along the same lines. Thanks! L
  22. I meant to say Viva la Juicy....not Gain. Anyone?
  23. I would say that each essential oil should be named as the FDA really looks at them as a "medication" of sorts. Because it is a highly concentrated form of a natural product, again if someone is highly allergic to say a certain grass can you imagine them putting it on their skin in a highly concentrated form even though it is just a small minute amount in the container. How about contraindications in pregnancy....and you are formulating a skin product and the woman is pregnant. You would want her to know if there is an essential that might be harmful to her. Essentials have also been known to lower or raise blood pressure. Essentials can actually sensitize someone so that the next time they come into contact with that essential they will have a very adverse reaction. Also some essentials can cause photosensitive reactions in light. Also certain essentials become more potent and some even produce a chemical toxin after a certain time. If putting high concentrations of essentials into some product it would also be advisable to add a formulated date. This really does allow the consumer to make a choice about the product if each essential is noted.
  24. I've never had a communication problem with Candle Science. That seems so odd. They have always answered the phone and when I had a bottle that had leaked out in my order that replacement was on my door pronto. Scentworks....I've not ordered from.
