Bart, sorry I rarely come here any more, so in answer to your question regarding Range Products FOs. No I have not tried them and unlike Jonsie I will not use any of thier products again. I think thier EOs are from New Directions, the owner rattled of all of thier suppliers and this was the only supplier they use who sell EO and FO. I found the quality of oils from Range Products to be inferior, in my opinion to SEOC products as well. I make lots of B&B and soap so use multiple oils and butters. I love the thought of buying local but unfortunatly have found thiers and the local soap companys oils and butters not to my satisfaction. I would always prefer to pay extra for quality. Again, just my personal opinion. I to do not have a business making for myself, family and friends but still stick by these ideals. I personally prefer EOs from SEOC even though they are a higher price, although if you have a business using these products or a qualified beauty therapist masseur etc they do have cheaper prices when you produce evidence to clarify this. Jonsie, any company that sells EO should give the latin name, batch number, expiry date and have it in a dark bottle. A really good supplier will also tell you the country of origin which can affect the fragrance the omit. The other thing to remember with EOs is batchs can vary slightly due to nature, EOs can be affected from climate, rain fall, season, country it is grown in.

Nadip, regarding your mention of Range Products. I was very dissapointed with the EO from this company. Not that I use them in candlemaking, but for other B&B products.

Jonsie Sorry to hear of your frustrations and troubles. EO are so hard to find a good reputable brand, not sure that any Perth suppliers are any good in this regard.

Not sure I have never used comfrey in my soap, but you have made me want to try. I think I would make up an infused oil and use it that way

Jonsie, sorry I know you posted this awhile back. Do not visit much these days. Is this supplier the one you visited recently? I to am unhappy with the eo's I bought from them, I did not smell before I bought, and not happy at all, some of them smell nothing like the origin of the oil. I would not buy from new directions as suggested, your new supplier buys thier oils from them. I have bought the most devine eo vanilla oleoresin, (vanilla planifolia) from sydney essential oil company. I think it was quite pricey from memory. They do have a minimum order of $220 and I like some of thier eo and others not so much, but the best supplier that I have found in recent years. I have used it in b and b products but not candles. As you are a registered business you have to contact them and they have cheaper prices for you.

When I worked for an aromatherapist years ago, I am sure she said the only safe eo for babies is Blue chamomile, expensive but safe.

Beautiful recipes you have shared. Thank you. You can make your own calendula oil, easy peasy to make. I would add equal parts of olive oil, dried calendula flowers, ie 1 cup oil, 1 cup flowers. You could seep it, but I would gently heat the oil and flowers over a double boiler until the flowers are soft. Strain oil and the oil is alreay to use. To increase the strength of the oil after straining you could again heat the oil with another batch of dried flowers, then strain. Double infused oils is even more beneficial. You could use other oils for the infusion.

There are some good recipes here. I am still trying a different recipes to find one's I really like. I love really moisturising soaps too, so far I have found my most moisturising have had tallow, grapeseed oil in, that is two different recipes. I also like some shea nut butter in mine.

It gives you such a bad feeling when dealing with incompetent business's. Hope that refund appears real soon

Lol Deb, winge must be a aussie word is it. I do not sell my candles. I just despise that this woman is copying direct from the suppliers website for a start. Wonder if she is breaking any copyright laws there. I have considered buying one of her candles to see how they burn. She colours them heaps, so especially curious to see how her wick goes with such colour. Her cold throw is not wonderful, so wonder if there is any hot throw, although her fans rave about it. Thanks for comments, I hear what you are saying, agree with what you are saying, like I said earlier just had to get it off my chest so to speak today.

Sorry I am going to have a winge. There is a woman who lives local to me who has a candle business. I have seen her at markets and look at her facebook page, and see she now has a website. This woman gets comments for her brillant descriptions of the multiple scents she makes. What she is doing is copying and pasting the photos and descriptions of the supplier exactly, she has the audacity to accept these compliments as her own! She offers a refill service but her latest fb comments are that if you supply any kind of jar, cup etc she will fill it. Now I personally, despise to see people who just fill any kind of container given you can not trust the customer to only burn a recommended time and you cannot know how someone has used a container whether it may be weakened by the heat that candles dispense. I do not mean offense to anyone who does offer this service. But any kind of jar! She does not use labels, well last time I saw her work she didn't, just a white small label with the scent on. Her prices are sometimes quite high considering I feel they look very basic and have seen them with holes, frosting etc. I know we all can have these occur on occasions, not that I sell but I most certainly would not see in this condition, but guess we all have different ethics and standards. She had coffee jars filled as candles at a price I would expect to pay for new glassware!!!!!!!!! She always has new glassware, she mentions where she has got some of it from and I think wow, cheap store, cheap quality, non candle safe stuff. How could she possibly be testing each and everyone of this glassware? Her website she mentions she went to Dusk, (an australian company who makes predominatly parrafin candles), and "decided who walked into Dusk and just fell for the scents. But I thought about what wax they were using and how bad it is for the enviroment and decided I can do it better for less". Less, do not know what she means by this as her prices are really on a par with Dusk. Any way, thank you for letting me rant and rave, feel better now, it has been bugging me for a long time.

Many many years ago I only did CP, loved it at the time. Just recently started making soap again and now doing HP. I had wondered the difference my self, did do lots of research but none answering my questions. Love that I can use HP straight away virtually. Super quick to make, although years ago I used to stir the damn soap by hand used to take forever as opposed to having a stick blender now. I will stay with HP.
