  1. I dont think I have any oils less than a 200 FP, but just to be safe I will throw some olive oil in the warmers until I place another order, and then I will get some DPG. Thanks,
  2. I actually have 5 electric warmers in my house and have been using the FO's in my warmers straight. Occassionally I will add a splash of olive oil, but typically I use the oils straight with no problems. I was just kind of curious as to what others did, or if there is something that should be added to make the scent last longer. I dont sell candles/tarts and only make tarts for myself (and friends/family). Well I have managed to quickly accumulate far too many oils for my newest hobby (ok, call it an obsession) and didnt really want to spend the money on the the amount of wax that would be required to put these all into wax and make tarts. Eek!! I keep telling myself that I need to use up a good portion of my oils (hence using them straight in the warmers) before I buy anymore, but darn they all sound so good and then I get on these boards and come up with a whole new wish list of scents that I want to try... LOL...
  3. Does anyone use straight FO in electric warmers? If so, do you add maybe a little extra virgin olive oil or possibly mineral oil to the FO, or just straight? Just wanted to find out if others do this, and if so, how? Thanks,
  4. I ordered her scents before and thought they were pretty good too.
  5. Hi Laura, I used to sell Gold Canyon so I am pretty familiar with their scents. I recently poured Country Clothesline (from Aroma Haven) in tarts and to my nose it smells exactly like GC's Clean Sheets. You might want to give it a try if you havent already. It is spot on.
  6. I put in an order for the pumpkin fudge from keystone so hopefully it is nice. I am probably in the minority, but I dont care for pumpkin souffle much. Something about it just doesnt sit right, and I really dont like the smell of chocolate in oils, so I am so glad that it doesnt have any "chocolate" fudge. I am looking for a rich, buttery, creamy, non spicy pumpkin smell, so I am hoping the pumpkin fudge hits the mark (gee, I am not asking for much am I). Has anyone compared the JS pumpkin fudge torte to the Keystone pumpkin fudge? It would be nice if they are twins or similar to have more ordering options. Thanks,
  7. Has anyone compared the two of these? Are they similar, or in your opinion, is one better than the other? Thanks,
  8. If you were to make your own version of this scent, would you combine a sweet pumpkin pie with maybe a buttercream, or possibly a whipped cream scent?
  9. For those that have tried Pumpkin Fudge from Keystone, is it an actual mix of pumpkin & chocolate, or more of a pumpkin mixed with a cream type of scent? I tried blending a straight pumpkin with a dash of chocolate fudge and the chocolate overpowers the pumpkin by far. I have never tried Keystone's Pumpkin Fudge so I was just curious what scents you would combine to get close to that scent? Thanks,
  10. I love BBW's leaves. I have it in both bath gel & kitchen soap. I was so surprised when I got the Grandma's Kitchen because I had no idea it would smell like Leaves, but as soon as I smelled it in the bottle I immediately knew it smelled like Leaves. I went and grabbed my bath gel to compare and I couldnt tell a difference. I have poured both versions (Cierra's & Candle Source) in tarts and I think they smelled the same. Hope it works for you.
  11. I know it sounds odd, but actually Grandma's Kitchen from either Cierra's or The Candle Source smell just like BBW Leaves to me. I have the Leaves hand soap in my kitchen and have the Grandma's Kitchen poured in tarts and I can not tell the difference. Hope that helps!
  12. Thanks for this information. Their Gingerbread House is described as a Gold Canyon dup, so I hope it is very close. I just placed an order for this scent (plus a few others... well ok maybe about 10 others but what the heck). Thanks!
  13. Does anyone use J223 for making tarts? I have read so many great reviews on the hot throw of this wax, but being that it is a container wax, wonder if it would be too soft? Could another wax be added to J223 to firm it up enough for tarts, yet still have the great hot throw? Primarily paraffin? Thanks,
  14. Thanks for the input. I tried using the craft store paraffin and added some vybar but I think it may have been too much vybar. I used 1/2 tsp to 1 lb wax. The CT is great but not the hot throw (or maybe the wax just sucks). Do you think this might be a decent combination... 1 lb paraffin, 1/4 tsp vybar and maybe a tablespoon or so of coconut oil? I have stearic as well, but wasnt sure if I would need to add that too, or just the vybar? This would only be used in making tarts for myself. Thank you,
  15. Candlebuddy, I have to tell you that I tried Alabaster's Mulled Cider and it smells like an exact dup for Gold Canyons. Thanks for the suggestion! Does anyone know if BW's Honey Gingerbread smells anything like Gold Canyon's Gingerbread House? I love that scent but so far have not been able to find anything quite like it. Thanks,
  16. When you were using it for tarts, did you find that the throw was pretty good? I had always been under the impression that paraffin had a more intense hot throw and lasted longer, so I am hesitant to add soy, but it seems that a lot of people do add a little soy to their paraffin. I guess I will just have to try it both ways and see which I like best. Thanks for the input.
  17. I was looking for opinions on those that use 4794. I only make tarts (and only for myself so the appearance is not terribly important). I am mainly looking for the best scent throw possible. I have read that a lot of you use about a 70/30% 4794/soy combo, or 70/30% 4794/container wax combo. Does adding either soy or container wax only help the appearance (to avoid re-pours) or does it help improve the scent throw as well? Would I get a better scent throw from using straight 4794 or by combining with either soy or container if appearance doesnt matter? All opinions welcomed. Thanks
  18. Hi Soapgirl, Can I ask which wax you use in your blend?
  19. I have some 4794 wax on order, but wanted to experiment with wax while I am waiting for delivery. I only make tarts and I only make them for myself and friends/gifts, so I am trying to keep shipping costs down for something that is only a hobby. I dont foresee ever making this into a business, but it sure is fun. Has anyone ever made their own wax blend using the craft store variety of paraffin and adding vybar or any other additives? Can you get a good hot throw out of that, and if so, what type of additives do you use? Thanks!
  20. Would someone be willing to email the newsletter to me as well? I signed up to receive it but guess I was too late and missed it. Thanks,
  21. I ended up ordering it from Candlescience since I order a few FO's from them anyways. But wow, the shipping was outrageous. I dont sell at all, so I wont need to order the wax that often thank goodness.
  22. Thank you both for your input. I was leaning in the direction of that wax based on other reviews, but glad to hear some confirmation. Now I am just trying to find a supplier for it. I was hoping to find it at The Candle Maker store since that is where I get the majority of my oils, but no luck. I live in AZ, so there isnt any supplier in the area that I can drive to, so I am trying to cut down on the shipping costs by ordering wax when I order oils. Hopefully I will find it at one of the few other suppliers I order FO's from. Thanks again!
  23. Can anyone recommend a paraffin wax that is great for tarts, primarily for the best hot throw? I only make tarts for myself (and family, gifts etc) so I am looking for one type of paraffin wax that I could buy (already blended with additives) that would work for this purpose? I dont make candles, so really would like to buy 1 type of wax for my needs if possible. Thanks!
