You asked for opinions, she gave it. THAT WAS the point of the thread. Did she anywhere state that you were lying? I don't recall that she did. She brought it up because you asked for opinions, and she gave it. You know, there's lots of things that COULD happen, and this site could help you avoid that. What if someone bought one of your candles, thinking it was pure soy, because they are allergic to paraffin (totally imaginary, but hey, weird things happen) Would you prefer to get sued? What if the paraffin makers decide to sue you for libel, because you are posting things on your site that could harm their business, like the carcinogen thing? (again, hypothetical, but things can happen) You just have to be careful. You have to be professional. If you feel that she was calling you a liar, it is SO much more professional to either ignore her, or to present facts, whatever. Name calling and such does not present an image that you want. Like I said before, are you going to jump down a potential customers throat like that? Because BELIEVE me, they will present you with the same questions, and responses.

I think that would be your best strategy. You obviously only wanted people who would boost you, and that isn't always going to happen. maybe you would be better off next time to PM the people that you want to read it. You know, though, this is the real world, and you aren't always going to come across the people that you want, and the reaction that you want. You have to learn to debate maturely, effectively, and without mudslinging, which is what you are doing. Are you going to go off on potential customers like that? If so, don't expect to grow large.

Well, I have poured a candle today that I am waiting to cool, then I am going to attempt to do some dried flower stuff to it. Tomorrow, I am taking the hubby and boys out for Father's day. Then, he has a committee meeting for his 15 year high school reunion. Sunday, spending Father's Day with hubby's dad.

All I can offer to this one is research, research, research. It doesn't cost anything, and before you fall into something like Candlewealth, research everything there is out there.

ROFLMAO.. No, I have no affiliation with the site, but I love how you are trying to twist things. Why are those things falsehoods? If you pour at a really hot temp, FO WILL burn off. Maybe SOME candle companies do use the wrong sized wicks. Just because YOU don't like what she/he says, doesn't make them a liar. They are SPINNING things, not lying. There's a difference.

And, whoever said that she probably doesn't expect experienced Chandlers to buy from her, is probably exactly right. She is looking for people who believe blown up advertising.

I don't see the point of this uproar. This is how businesses advertise. They make huge claims, glittering generalizations to get people to want their product. Yes, their product may be better than no one else's, but EVERYTHING is like that. Watch a commercial sometime. It's the cold, hard, world of business. Everything on her site could be true, just with her spin to it. It's what marketing companies get paid to do, and get paid a lot for. She may count her steps as seven, so what? Maybe I could break mine down to ten, and put it on a site. Instead of saying she uses 6 or 8 percent fragrance, which to the layperson doesn't sound like much, she states that she uses 30 percent more. She's not lying, she's just stating it in a more blown up way. It doesn't make her a liar, it makes her a person who uses over the top marketing skills.

And other obvious thoughts. I put a cinnamon bun mold with wax in it, because I am in a huge hurry to get some stuff done for a show. Thinking that it was hard enough to pull out, I hurridly pulled it out, and sloshed wax, ALL OVER ME. It poured all over my shirt, ruining it, all over my thumb, and the floor. It was still pretty damned hot. Ouch!

I am going to work a bit, and then I am going to attempt some hurricane candles with flowers on them. I am also going to make some candles for my best friends birthday.

I have had nothing but trouble from them. I have talked in other threads about what they have done. I would NOT do business with them again.
