  1. Thank you Horsescents and Steve! This will get me started!
  2. I want to use my Mediterranean Fig, but I'm not sure what to mix it with to compliment the season coming up. Anybody have any ideas? TIA
  3. What's your name? Laura How old are you? 40 Where do you live? A small rural town in Northeastern PA How long have you been making candles/soap/whatever? I've been making candles since 1998. How did you get started making candles/soap/whatever? I wanted to be self employed and loved to burn candles. It just fit. I only made beeswax candles in the beginning. I do mostly scented soy now. Are you married? Any kids? I have been married for 9 years to a very supportive guy. Our first baby is our border collie (10). Our other children are 7 (boy) and 6 months (girl). If candle making isn't your primary job, what do you do? My family is my primary job, of course. In the past while candle making, I've been a skidder operator for a logging company and matted artwork for a picture framing company. Anything else we should know? I love to bake sweet treats. My guilty pleasure is reading historical romance novels. I'm addicted to purchasing new fragrance oils.
  4. That does sound yummy. My customers love anything with vanilla and cinnamon....me, too. Thank you!
  5. I'm very guilty of doing this. I like the idea of making a spreadsheet for different suppliers. I've noticed a couple times that I had purchased FO that I already had in my boxes of samples.
  6. The candlemakers store has a dupe. Has anyone tried it? I have never ordered from them before. How are there oils?
  7. Anyone know of a hollyberry that is a dupe of yc, or close to it? Oh, and performs well in soy. Thanks!
  8. Her Patchouli is THE best. I've been waiting for her prebuy. Tobacco bergamot does sound interesting.
  9. Sugared Vanilla Shortbread is one of my best sellers. Pumpkin Ginger Streusel is wonderful, too.
  10. Hi, Forest Hill Candles! Do you know if it smells the same as WSP Butt Naked In Bed?
  11. Hi, there. I'm sorta new to the forum(I've been lurking for awhile). Does anyone know of a good replacement for this FO? WSP prices are getting a bit too high for me. Thanks!
  12. I order a few FO's from candlewic. I use c-1 soy wax. The FO's I get that I love are pumpkin ginger struesel and sugared vanilla shortbread.
  13. Stella that's pretty much what wikiHOW said to do. I haven't tried it yet. I have a terrible feeling my new favorite sweater became my new favorite candle making sweater. Ouch, funkymonkey66!
  14. OK, I went to wikiHOW and got my answer. Now I'm off to clean my sweater and then to remelt my pillar. Laura
  15. Hi, I'm new and sorry to be meeting like this. I could sure use some help. I was too excited to take my pillar out to see what it looked like and it had a crack that ran all the way down the side. Well, I pushed on it with both my thumbs and....well....wax all over by new favorite sweater. The wax was palm wax with a wee bit of beeswax. Any ideas on how to get it out?? What was I thinking?? I wasn't. Laura
  16. Hi, there. The one from wsp is pricey. I ordered some from candles & supplies which is much less expensive and I think smells just as good. HTH Laura
