I've been using this wax for as long as it's been out and I love it. I heat to 180, don't use color, add the FO directly after weighing the wax, and pour at 150ish. I too use a 16oz apoth, which I wick with either a CD16 or 18 depending on the FO, single wick. The only scent I can't get to burn in this wax is Frank & Myrrh. Hope this helps. Gretchen

Yeah- I just tried to place an order with them. Of course being the nit-wit I can be at times, I didn't read the 'for US customers' first! Takes you straight to bittercreek! Duh! Whoa Nelly! This one is getting long! I've been ordering from them since day one; maybe five years ago? I get my CBA from them, my wicks, and some of my FO's. I used to get my jars from them, but eventually found the manufactuer and now buy them direct (cheaper even with the freight charge!) 24 cases of jars gets shipped by freight truck, so I order 24-48 at a time. When I order wax from C&S, I get 500#, and my FO's 5# per scent. Usually the shipping on that is about $100, sometimes less if it's just the wax. I'm in business, yes, but I'm certianly not 'big' business. It just makes better sense to stretch a little and order in bulk. Once your order is 200#, your shipping charges drop incredibly. If you ask a supplier, they will calculate shipping charges (hypithetically) to show you the difference between shipping 100# verses 200#. I realize not everyone can, nor wants to order in volume, but I would suggest taking a closer look at what you CAN do to get an order to a 200# weight shipping fee. I've learned to be very careful to not put myself in a position of just ordering a couple of pounds of whatever in one order. It happens sometimes, but I kick myself when it does because usually I could have avoided it had I been paying closer attention to my supplies. I'll agree that most of the staff at C&S are not the friendliest people around. There's an air about that place (Iused to pick up my orders; 3 hour drive!), and it's not generally frienly or very customer oriented. The girl at the front desk, southern-ish twag, is nice, but she's not who you'll usually get over the phone. The rest of them are a bit chilly. I don't really care too much about that as long as I get what I need. I always call in my orders, always before 2:00, and i always ask that it be shipped that day. They've always accommidated that request, which is great. I have contacted the wax manufacturer and the minimum shipment from them would be 1800#. I'm striving to get there by the end of this year. Oh, to have that much wax in one delivery! I'd love it! As far as C&S going out of business; won't happen. That place is HUGE, and I can emagine so is there customer base! They could use a course in customer service, however! Gretchen

Another CBA lover here. I do an outside market May thru december. On a REALLY hot day some have little sweat beads, not all. I don't let them sit in direct sunlight, but honestly, I've never really had a problem. They've never had a melt down in my kitchen and I have the same type of lighting and ceiling heights mentioned earlier. What I really hate is in December when it's really cold! You could literally lift the candle out of the Jar! Gretchen

Using hot glue is really no more trouble than the other methods, and they do hold tight cause I pull my wicks up tight before I pour! But then they are relitivly easy to get out after the candle is dead. I wick ahead everytime I get a jar delivery, leaving a case or two without in case I want to test other wicks, or whatever. I have a big dispenser of the wick stick-ums, but now that I'm pouring at a higher temp with the CBA, they would come loose when I poured. I've been using hot glue too. Tried the silicone glue, but then getting the wick out is almost impossible. I advocate reusing the jar for something else after the candle, so i wouldn't want a customer loosing a finger trying! For any of you that do some of your own scent blending; what's your process? Meaning, do you first try blending drops say on blotter paper or some other method along those lines? Do you just go for it with the wax and pour a tester? Do you mix FO's from different suppliers? I feel like I'm wasting wax; sometimes I get lucky; often, lately, I haven't. Just curious how other people go about it. Gretchen

From what I can tell, jars with the seams are generally thicker glass; which is a safer senario, thick or thin, or is that not even part of the equation? Gretchen

7lbs.? That's what they'll hold? That's not pouring too many candles at once. So does the wax melt like lickity-split? I'm not in love with using a ladel with my roasters, but they will hold 25#. I'm thinking that the turkey deep fryers are sounding even better. Having a spigot sure is tempting! Gretchen

Stacie, that's interesting. I'm using the large roasters which hold about 25#, and that's great but when I'm pouring I can empty one in no time. I use two, sometimes three so I can just keep going, but they do take up a fair amount of precious space. How long does it take if you fill that thing, for the wax to melt and come to the temp you're looking for? The spout doesn't clog? (I'm using a ladle!) Do you use more than one? How much space does it take up? Anything I didn't ask? Gretchen

I am definatly old enough to know what it should smell like:wink2: , though just on the outter edge of being old enough! Don't want to date myself too badly! I use the patchouli fron Candles & Supplies. It's not the patchouli i would 'wear' but it's a very nice burn-scent. It's one of my best sellers in the stores that carry it. For my soaps and lotions, I get my EO's from either the buying group or snowdrift farms and the FO smells the closest to those. Just an opinion. It's a harder to burn scent as well, so I bump down a bit on how much I use Gretchen
