  1. This is good to know, thanks for the tread! I have been thinking about driving over there for about a week.I have an unexpected week off so I`m going over there tomorrow. Still looking for the paraffin I`ve been using for 8 years. They are only about a 45 min drive from me. Maybe I`ll get lucky and fine something similar.
  2. Paraffin, palm, beeswax , soy...ect... go though a process to be used to make candles. There is a formula that each manufacturer goes though to make each one. There are hundreds? of different waxes. Each supplier carries his/her favorite or customer demands. Why oh why do we have to go though a change of wax when the supplier decides that they don`t want to carry the line anymore or in my case they solded out ,another person kept it opened for a few months and has now disappeared ? They dont want to tell you what brand you were ordering from them for the last 8 years. I thought it was plain paraffin. So now what...go though a few years of trying to get a new formula down now????? Brad is helping me out and says that he has something similar, but still...what if it doesnt work? Whats with all the blasted secretes.
  3. Who is the man in dallas Tx. that has a company and warehouse and sells paraffin and soy? Claus something?
  4. No, I ordered the part from the manufacturer...didnt want anymishaps...:/
  5. heres one on the pitting www.craftserver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89131&highlight=pitting
  6. Is there a mold you can pour the wax into?
  7. I use the 10oz. Victorian jar with a 51-32-18 wick, and have no problems with wax hang up.
  8. Sorry ,had the word wrong. It was on sell for 20.00. http://www.walmart.com/cservice/writeReview.do Connect & Share: Ratings and ReviewsBe the first to review this product. or Share this Product: .PricingInfoMod,.ProductFlags{float:left;}$35.88 Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Punch Kit
  9. Could it just be air bubbles traveling up the wick? That happens to me sometimes. I jiggle the wick alittle side to side to dislodge the air while the wax is still hot in the jar.
  10. I would think your customer base is worth more than any thing that you have. You can research learn how to make a candles online, you can come up with a supplier list, fragrances, jars etc...yes,it does take time to finally come up with the perfect candle. But the end results is to sell, sell, sell. So I thing your customers are the most valuable thing you have for sell.
  11. Walmart had those croc-a-something on sale for 20.00.You use them to punch holes in cans to make designs on them. That would look cute.
  12. pics of your candles are beautiful! I love the colors! I have a box of c-3 and hex jars, maybe I`ll try it this weekend.
  13. I also agree about the flowers being distracting. How about a background ( a scene)of Alabama? Or you the Candleman?
  14. How about some type of small stars inside of the bomb? If made of soap, maybe stars could be made firmer to hold their shape longer than the bomb??
  15. The white one caught my eye first...White "pops" and black recedes.
  16. You should measure the widest part of your container and use that as your base to find a wick that will burn that perimeter.
  17. The opening page is beautiful. Very Nice. Your candle tarts to me,would look better on a plate? Five pics are blurry. And I would cut the wicks to 1/4 of a in. Your tarts in the container looks warped . One votive wick looks off centered. Your soaps would look (again) better on a plate or small basket. The fact that you put it on the forum for comments, shows that you are serious about wanting it to look good. I wish that I would get off my tush and make a website for my products. Good Luck.
  18. Love your tags, colors and tumblers. I`m a "waste not" type of girl though, the lids on your jars ( space) seem like a waste. Can you get a flat glass lid, or maybe potpourri In there?
  19. What is everyone paying now for wax? I`ve done a search on differrent sites and the cheapest has been $64.80 for 60 lbs. Is that good?
