  1. Jen, Those are stunning. Love them.
  2. I'm kinda getting lost here in this thread :laugh2:so I'm going to cover HT and smoother tops. IMO if you wick down 1 size, use at the top 8% PP FO it's around 1.25oz and try pouring it when it gets cloudy into a warm (not hot) jar. Also try to cool the candles in a warm area (I have a radiator space heater in my room). I don't know if you said what jar Diameter and wick are you using? HTH Also remeber some FO's just don't throw well in soy. I've had to learn this the hard way.
  3. MissMori, here is a link I never tried this but it says it's for soy http://www.thecandlemakersstore.com/product/ADUSOYA/Universal-Soy-Wax-Additive.html I also found this: http://candlemarketingsweeti.com/blog/2010/02/candle-additives-universal-soy-additive/ I'm at work and didn't have time to read it but I will later.
  4. Willowboo, I'd love to try one of your candles. Maybe I could figure out why mine are cracking up to 50/50 now and I took your advice about pouring cooler. Not trying to hijack this thread, sorry.
  5. Thanks Vanessa, I put this in my notes and you are right it might help somebody. Being me.
  6. :laugh2:Don't be embarassed I've been there. I'm willing to bet we aren't the only ones:laugh2:
  7. Love your colors, they look great.
  8. Really why? Now we need a tutorial. I love them they are so pretty.
  9. Welcome to the board! Good luck, have fun. You have alot of great replies here.
  10. Oh Looks like the hex jar. let me know how the LX21 works. I'm using a LX22 in mine. Strait 4627 right? Mine is a 3" though maybe a little bit different jar.
  11. What is the diameter of the 16oz classic jar? Is it like the apothacary jar?
  12. :laugh2:Yep I was on a roll that night, sorry. I'm in my own 4627/soy blend hell. If the zinc wicks are working for you stay with it. It's your jar, wick, wax combo and if it's working, go for it. I wish you luck and keep us posted. I also did test a wood wick this weekend in the parasoy blend I'm trying to get right. It burned great, the flame does get a little bigger of course, but I was just playing. I have been with the understanding that the paraffin makes those WW crackle better, I didn't get that result. I don't use them much just to play with.
  13. Yep Ditto :laugh2:You have my deepest sympathies too. A BIG GOOD LUCK FROM COLORADO
  14. I don't think Jonsie is adding her FO at 250. I personally don't know of anybody that would heat their wax to 250 degrees that is way too hot, let alone add the FO at that high of a temp. IMO it's not only dangerous but, heating the wax to that high of a temp will burn the wax. Crisco for cooking is different you are frying something:confused:. I understand that your questioning because you have come to trust this person, and I don't think your asking bad questions. The bad question is the one that is never asked. The people here on the board are being thoughtful warning you about her practices, because it is very dangerous the way she is making her candles. Safety needs to always be 1st. I'm glad you came here to ask, you have gotten some very good advice from the others and I hope to hear more from you soon, any question, anytime is all right with me. Feel free to PM me if you want.
  15. May I ask what blend? I'm trying a parasoy blend too.
  16. HorsescentS, I'm so glad you are taking this in the manner it's intended, I think these posters are worried more about your safety than anything. I was biting my tongue.:laugh2:and hoping. WOW Jonsie sorry hope you don't think this was a hijack.
  17. Yep! that looks familiar. I had a couple friends that said it looked cool :laugh2:so I'm not gonna worry about it. I made a beige marbled for one of them it did come out kinda cool looking and it matches her decor so what the heck. That's what she wanted.
  18. Judy, I just ordered a sample pack of the "Soy Based" FO's I realize this is an older post, just wondering if you did order and what you think? Anyone else? I ordered: Angel Wings Creamy Cinnamon Chai-WOW OOB Creamy Vanilla Freesia Fresh cut Tulips Fresh Plumeria Hinoki Hot Spiced Vanilla Lily of the Valley Sweet Pea BBW Type Tuberose and Jasmine Wasabi Ginger
  19. Oh ya that could explain it. Cause mine looked like a light swirl of pale yellow kinda marbled.
  20. At the risk of embarassing myself, I thought that is M&P and I saw a tutorial on peaks site Candletech that showed how to do it. It is too cool. I guess you are going to have to tell us now.
  21. Really weird I went to take a pic and the yellowing is almost gone. It was down the side of the jar and around the top. Here is a pic. IDK why, it's mostly gone now.
  22. Same thing has happened to me I use 464 and the same FO and yes UV and they do turn yellow in areas. I mix my Fo in good too, so I don't think that is the problem. It is just a quirk I think. I also use magnolia from Peak and when I burn only the melt pool turns a greenish color when it resolidifies, I love that FO and I don't mind it a bit it looks kinda cool. HTH Stella I'll take a pic I bet hers looks just like mine.
