  1. I am thinking the CSN 12 are the best too. I don't think you can burn for a shell unless you watch it and turn it . The curl of the wick , a draft or whatever is going to bring the burn off centered . so I think that if you want the shell you have to work for it . Laura
  2. 3 hours into the second burn and the flame is very small.
  3. I thought I may have candle nose as well , but my soy containers are burning around the house and I can smell those . I moved the pillar to a small bathroom and I could smell it but not in a bedroom.
  4. I am not sure what happened to the scent on this CSN 11 . The heather countryside smells fabulous in my 415. This was a 6 hour burn and I am showing photos of every hour . Input is much appreciated Thanks Laura her is a 40 second video of the 6 hours as well http://www.box.net/shared/ci6t3n5gth
  5. I used 1 1/2 tsp of stearic 1 oz of heater countryside ( MMMMM) 3 drops of CS liquid dye Kiwi green poured at 195 cooled under a plastic cooler insert wick 1/2 inch will post photos at the end of the test but I can tell you that 1 hour in the scent was non existent as it was with the CSN 7

  10. In a thread I started about trying to burn a pillar to leave a shell, Top asked if I would test a CSN7 so here it is I used 1 1/2 tsp of stearic 1 oz of heater countryside ( MMMMM) 3 drops of CS liquid dye Kiwi green poured at 195 cooled under a plastic cooler insert We decided to try 6 hour burns leave the wick 1/2 inch so here it is at start oh and because I am a computer nerd I am trying to share in video as well( let me know how that works for you:yay: http://www.box.net/shared/4xcjgp0qo3
  11. I know your CSN 9 is burning nicely but you said you are watching it and turning it and adjusting the wick. I don't want to . Can you hear me whining ? cause I am:laugh2::laugh2: Have fun on your trip
  12. I tried the CSN 9 I got a small hole down the center. At that point and I don't expect you to remember this ...you suggested I not trim them. Now when you suggested that it was the CSN9 and I had already trimmed it so when I made the 12 I didn't trim. You are right though , the 12 didn't need trimming either. I don't want to worry about it and turn it and all that stuff . That being said I think I will have to choose . pLay with the candle or allow it to melt. I have been trying now for a while to find a wick that will give a shell without a fuse. I don't think it can be done . Unless of course I wait for you to practice the idea:laugh2:
  13. thanks .... i wanted something summer looking for the tables. I am a entertaining fool come summer time. I am trying to come up with something for citronella pillars as well . I am blank
  14. do you put yours in an organza bag like peek says or can you just hand them

  16. I am sick with envy . It is so nice
  17. here is burn 7, 8 , 9 , 10 Thanks for any suggestions Laura
  18. The wax I have been working with is from candles and supplies. They call it Crystal Pillar (Palm) Wax. They say it is a one pour. I think it is the same as Candle science's starburst because it too says PT. Sumi Asahi on the bag. That is what candle science told me to look for . Anyway candles and supplies recommend pouring at 200 to 210 degrees( tape won't hold that temp . it leaks out. or at least for me it does.) but they say you can pour at different temps for different effects. I played around the other day trying to make a watermelon candle . I didn't want crystals or starbursts because I want to make a bunch of watermelon looking pillars for a party I am having this summer. i thought it would look adorable on the tables . So if you pour at 150 you don't get crystals. I made the candle with 1 oz FO using a CSN 12 because the 11 seemed too small. after the candle cooled I polished it with my husbands t shirt ( shhh) I wanted to have it burn leaving a shell. I think I give up . I have been following Tops and even with CSN 9 his melts the sides by burn 5 . The CSN 12 I made melted the sides 1 1/2 hours into the 8th burn .So for the party I would be ok but still would love to have a shell. As you can see the candle no longer looks so cute once the sides melt. Would love some other suggestions. here is burn 1 before and after 4 hours
