  1. If you go to discussions they have tons of problems with scent throw and tunneling. It made me feel good to know even the big guys have issues. Now if only I had their money :laugh2: http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Yankee-Candle-Company/39925915994?ref=ts
  2. I went 4 hours without incident. I think I will give it some time before I re -melt and go smaller. I am having trouble with the votives though . I don't think I know how to wick them . they always fall over or go off center. Can anyone tell me how to wick them correctly?
  3. I thought the CSN14 would be good but I am not sure about that now. At least for this FO which is Lilac from MC. Thanks for your kind words I am proud of them. I also made some pillars with citronella . They are a bitch to wick. I am up to CSN 16 and they are too small
  4. Thanks My husband actually said he loved it .What do think about the wicks though. With all the testing going on I thought I had it .
  5. I wicked the 4 inch pillar with a CSN 22 ( CS suggests CSN14) I wicked the 3 inch pillars with CSN14 I wicked the 3x6 inch pillar with CDN14 since CS wicks are too short for the mold. I fixed them up all pretty ( cause I was sick of having candles everywhere not labeled or pretty) The crystals are beautiful. After only 2 1/2 hours I had to extinguish the 3 inch ones especially the CDN it almost went to the end. I think the flame is very large on the CSN22 but it looks like it is where it should be in diameter . Go figure But aren't they pretty anyway:rolleyes2 So I can make them I just can't burn them:laugh2:
  6. anything yet ? I am burning with 2xCSN14 little less than 1/2 way down the 24 oz elevation and wicks are getting small but not too small
  7. At the least 4 hours .I test for 4 and 6 . The jar is 4 inche diameter at the widest part Thanks
  8. This is where I am . The CD6 way to small. Not at first but then they are. CD7 too small not at first but then they are. I still have one going. The CD8 leave a layer of soot every so many burns and then they look too small. I am pouring 10 lbs of wax today to make 2 candles of Tulip, watermelon, honeysuckle ,heather and lilac. I used 2.3 oz of FO for each 2 pounds of wax That is I beleive a smig over 7%. I am going to let them sit for a couple of days while I and hopefully you all decide what i should try next. I have CD, CDN CSN and some ecos ( not sure of sizes at the moment) on the way . I also have some HTP83 which I think are too small . Thanks guys.
  9. wait so you made a glass glow or a 415 ?
  10. The CD7 is still going but it is really getting small. I blew them out and will try again in the morning. I will take photos. The problem I am having there is the flames are not coming out true to life in the photos . I don't Have that talent i guess.
  11. Thank you I appreciate your effort to help me out. Will you take photos too PS I just re read your post are you using CD7 or CSN7?
  12. sorry that will happen when someone is rambling I guess if you could give me the name of a scent you work with and the amount you use I would try and see if it works for me. I was hoping you had something like I have . Are you working with any flowers FO at this time ? I have a bunch of different Fo hoping we had one in common that I could try. You are the only one that used the same wax and jar as me that I could ask.
  13. I don't think so about the CSN7 cause CS considers 2 CSN14 acceptable so I would think CSN7 would be too small. Also I think but could be wrong that the CSN are more for Palm wax and not the 415. I did try them in the 415 and it is no longer around and i can't remember why I abandoned that test. As far as the Glass Glo I have not read enough or know enough about it to even know where to begin but I was ordering the starburst and I thought I would order that too. I just want to get the 415 down at this time it is really making me mad . Though the Flower pot with the CD10 looks pretty good . There is hang up but I think it will catch up . The Mason has more hang up then I would like to see but it has a ways to go before I will be able to tell. Both those wicks are curling just right and have not needed trimming. Its the double wicking that is difficult. Waiting to hear from 8-Grann she uses the same jar and wax .
  14. I know but then when I get to the 8 and 10 I get soot . Can you give me an example of a scent and amount and wick size . maybe I can try one . do you have any tulip, honeysuckle or name one. I have many I can try . I also am burning two with cd8 again to see if I get soot
  15. ok so my cd 7 a slowly petering out
  16. you said it sister ! I just ordered some glass glow cause I'm crazy and some eco wicks just because
  17. The CD6 in the cherry lemonade was barely flickering . I am still testing the CD7 in the other cherry lemonade and a CD7 in a citrus sage. . still no soot . The CD4 was soooo small in the flowerpot votive so I read people use a 10 I am trying that now along with 2 CD8 (again)in the 24 oz 4 inch diameter elevation jar and a CD14 in the wide mouth mason all with MC seaside .
  18. It's hard to see in your photo. they look similar to me but I 'll take your word for it and also that is what has me on the search for a better wick. Though the CDn worked better than the HTP with the mushrooming I was still getting mushrooms. I think the HTP would be a option if the sizes were not so few and far between. The other problem with too small is in my 24 oz elevation jar . it could possibly drowned out or struggle pretty badly on the way down until it picks up speed again if at all. Kinda like what I saw in the burn before last. But yes I feel bit better today since I have yet to see the layer of soot show up on the CD6 or the CD7.Thanks for that! I have put 2 CD7s in a citrus sage today as well the CD6 was not big enough in that scent . One more tester I had going was a CD4 in a flower pot votive container. I am thinking that is way to small but can not make that decision yet it is early. The flower pot as you know is wide then narrow so maybe.
  19. Not in a million years would I thought I could go down this low. The CD6s are picking up steam. The last burn was not to my liking but the next one was. I am also testing 2xcd7 and they are looking good so far. Thank you all for the advice and thanks top and soy( through email) for recommending such small sizes. I still am interested in the sizes others use as well. I tried a single 10 and 12 in jj and they look good. Any one using 415 have a starting point for the wide mouth mason ?
  20. Mind sharing the size cd you are suing
  21. i am double wicking. thanks though
