  1. HTH :smiley2: Tremendously !!!! I didn't know the first thing about it. I was off from work today and spent the entire day search for tutorials . I haven't found any:mad:. I don't even know how to wick a pillar:embarasse nor do I know how to use a wick pin . It's funny though you should see some of the candles maing videos I have seen today. One didn't even attach the wick to a container candle . They put it in the hot wax after pouring.Just layed it in there:laugh2:. Another was pouring in FO in boiling wax no measuring or worrying about temp. I have copied and pasted your response to a doc to refer back to . Still searching for the rest. I think I will get a kit to start off. Thanks again you gotta see some of these videos though .... very funny Laura
  2. would you recommend either of these or do you prefer somthing else? You see I didn't know that about palm. I was looking on line for a tutorial but haven't found any. I know I have to try but I know nothing about it. Thanks for sharing that falling out of a container thing . That could be bad, wouldn't you say Thaks Laura
  3. Would that be this: http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/PID-WAX-FP.aspx or this http://newcart.candlesandsupplies.com/Store/Products/Candles/PID-WAX-CP.aspx Thanks Stella
  4. After the holidays or in my free time:laugh2::laugh2: I was thinking I would like to try my hand at some pillar candles. Time to move on. Any way, all I know is GB 415. I know that I can't use that because of how soft it is. That being said I would love to stay as close to all soy as possible. Can anyone direct me to a good thread where I can learn more about the wax combos for pillars. Thank you Laura:smiley2:
  5. I don't have enough they would be rolling all over a shoe box ok so I guess I'm not alone........... it's just such a mess
  6. That's what I mean. I have dye on all the tops. I can't seem to prevent that. Nice Husband woould love to see a photo of the box. trying to picture it
  7. Anyone want to share with me how you store and keep your dye bottles. Mine are always such a mess I get to a point were I have to throw them away. I can't pick up a bottle without being soaked with a color. I always try so hard when I get a new one but the end result is always the same. I bet you have some secret I just haven't figured out yet :lipsrseal
  8. As always thanks for the input. I have a friend who loves the yankee jack frost but wanted me to try it in the soy for her. She says it is white but if I have to color it so be it.
  9. thank you so much. Does it throw well in soy? I use 415. I would want it white I won't color it.
  10. Anyone know where I can get Jack Frost yankee type for soy? I have seen Jack frost but not the peppermint vanilla like they have. Thanks in advance.

    Tarts & Soy Wax

I make my tarts with just GB 415 . They smell great.
  12. Welcome sassykat ! I use GB415. I have nothing else to compare it to. I have used it for about 4 years now. I have no troubles . I can tell you this ...Make sure you pour at 100 degrees when it is slushy. Then you get nice smooth tops. I do keep a heat gun around to touch up some of the tops from time to time. I even use this wax for my tarts. Because it is so soft , after they cool I put them in the freezer a few minutes and then they pop right out. They smell wonderful .
  13. I use MC Eucalyptus Mist ... I love it . This is their discription Soothing aromatic greens balanced with uplifting, clean air and woodsy undertones create this sophisticated bouquet. Body Safe. FP201.9
  14. You don’t know:confused: I find that hard to believe:laugh2: I wishe I knew 1/3 of what you know:cheesy2:
  15. can I do this with HTP? I am still testing with the CDN
  16. that's so cool . I am going to try it tomorrow. Can't wait ....
  17. I see ... But for double wicking you couldn't twist them they would get all tangled up:eek: So I am assuming by twisting the wick you are stopping it from curling ?
  18. the link you provided isn't bringing me anywhere .but I get it. I use these black plastic bobby pin style clips scrolll to the bottom. would like to see the bow ties will keep looking. http://www.bittercreeksouth.com/wicks.htm but of course it would. if you look at candle cross eyed it changes the burn properties:laugh2:
  19. Please explain the bowtie part. I get the twist part but can't figure out how you get a bowtie. can I just secure them and then twist them?
  20. I use CS from MC. I wick up one size . I use 1oz per lb. It takes over a week to cure .
