  1. Well this is weird , did so well all the way till ... wait let me go measure ...3/4 of and inch left in jar and one wick just died out and wouldn't re-light..
  2. Incase anyone is interest My CDN 10 and 12 totally petered out. I think the 12 will be better with light FO. Mulberry Wine is a pretty heavy FO. Thanks for your support
  3. Thanks chris, I have HTP wicks too ... I have to tell you coreless works best with the 415. The others shroom so bad. I did get some samples of LX can't remember at the moment which I used or if I even tried them. I have to check my notes. I recently purchased all the CDNs heard such great things about them . Crazy . When things are working I just love it . when they are not working NOT SO MUCH....
  4. maybe ... but the 2 CDN 8s are in a jar that is not tall at all 3inches is all .the two 16's are not so tall either 4.5.... Now I could see that in the largest one that you were helping me with when I tried single wicking that one is 5 3/4. If you're right you would have to use a huge wick then . But then we talked about the jar getting too hot later on .............oh boy what a mess I don't know but I wish someone did. Thanks Laura
  5. It’s so freaking frustrating….. The flames are huge in the beginning making me think holy crap:shocked2: the flames are too big and then where it go:confused:. Well I will keep burning and see what happens. I was just hoping someone might be able to help. Good luck to you. Thanks Laura
  6. I am confused to say the least. After trying with all my might to single wick a 10 oz apothecary which is 4 inches in diameter 3 inches high, a 16 oz libbey lucida(elevation jar ) 4x 4 1/2 and a 24 oz libbey lucida (Elevation jar) 4x 5 ¾ I have gone to double wicking. This just gets worse and worse. I used 2 CDN 8 in the 10oz- I poured hillbilly homebrew 1 oz of FO in 1-lb of 415 and used liquid dye. Burns pretty good…. I am happy so far. So what’s the problem you might ask yourself………………. I used 2 CDN 10 in the 16 oz using Mulberry wine 1.5 FO in 1 lb of 415 and used liquid dye. I AM getting a FMP and clean jar and then on the 4th burn the flame is so small I had to hold my breath and pray it didn’t go out. Using the same exact formula as above with the Mulberry wine I used 2 CDN 12 and got a FMP 1st and 2nd burn and now can’t achieve one the 3rd and 4th Burn. What am I missing here? If anything shouldn’t the 12s be burning hotter than the 10s . And how am I achieving the FMP with the 10s when the flame is sooooooo small? How are the 8s doing so well. These are both some pretty heavy FO. I would say maybe because I added the extra FO in the two 16 oz but that would not explain the 10’s doing better than the 12s. Does any of this even make sense? Thanks for whatever you can offer Laura
  7. I know you are correct about the hot glue. I remove them myself all the time when testing . All I do is wait until there is 1/2 inch of liquid left and out it comes. No doub about it . That's why I picked up the Permatex. I am so glad I don't have to wait 24 hours though.
  8. Dave are you able to answer my original questions ? you being a user and all . Thanks
  9. I used glue sticks as well. But i have had wicks float when I power burn. I never knew about the Permetex until joining the forum and reading Stella's posts. I was hoping to be able to pour earlier than 24 hours . I will wait though because I want to be safe.
  10. The jars can get very hot. if people burn for over 4 hours like I am guilty of doing on a weekend
  11. I just checked them out ... I dont see anywhere how much heat they can take. Do you know?
  12. I just ordered 15 from the email below. He got a bunch from the place I listed earlier and is selling them for 3.60 plus shipping said he has more. HTH rodneyhohertz@yahoo.com
  13. That's the only flaw. For me anyway. I would like to be able to do both in the same day. Thanks
  14. Thank you Chuck sorry I didn't explain myself
  15. It is just amazing how much I have learned in one month. Thought I knew more than I did that's for sure. Thanks to Stella I have picked up a tube of Permatex RED. I read that is hardens in one hour and cures in 24. Do you really have to wait 24 hours to pour? Thanks again :smiley2:
  16. I am looking as well . I went here but I can't figure out how to order and my email came back. http://www.kaleahimports.com/

  19. I guess this should now be in the off topic area. So sorry for that. But thank you all for your advice. He only had the apt sprayed for the 1st time Friday ( they moved in on the 1st)and he said they sprayed and put down a gel. Said he would be back next week for what you said the babies.( I shiver at the thought) But I am glad I posted the question about the soy . They have not unpacked or opened any food. because of this and I wouldn't want the yummy soy scents attracking them. NO CANDLES YET BOYS
