    Tarts

I don't use your wax but I let my tarts cure 36-48 hrs. before testing. I do have a few scents that have gotten stronger after a week's cure but I like to use scents with shorter cure times. HTH
  2. Looking for really, really strong Peppermint FO (candy cane-ish) and Cinnamon FO for my tarts. I use KY's tart/votive blend. I've tried AH Cinnamon-Vanilla and that was pretty mild. Not enough cinnamon for my taste. Tried CS's Cinnamon Sticks..it was okay but something was a bit off (IMO). All the peppermints from AH don't indicate it's really strong and I need really strong. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Karen
  3. I 3rd AH/RE....love 99% of their stuff anyway.
  4. Using a butter knife, I cut the wax down the center and each side usually pops right out. If not, I place in the freezer for a few minutes...pops out no problems. HTH
  5. Pumpkin Cheesecake - Aroma Haven Creamy Cinnamon Vanilla-Aroma Haven Chestnuts and Cherries-AH Apple Butter & Caramel-AH Hot Apple Pie-Chermark brand-AH Holiday Homecoming-ICS Cider & Sticks-(I think it's from Backwoods) Just a few I can think of right now. All these go into tarts and igi 6006
  6. I like those color combos. Pouring tarts tomorrow with those two samples. Last time I tried to make a pretty greenish brown it ended up looking like "baby couldn't help it" green. This time I'm going to start off with the green and then add the brown. I think that'll work better. Thanks for the color suggestions.
  7. Just received Fallen Leaves and Autumn Woods as samples in my FO order yesterday...going to put them in tarts. What dye colors are you using for these? Seems everything I'm making here lately is either a pumpkin like orangey-brown or brown. Thinking maybe something like a greenish brown?
  8. Donna-Do...glad to hear AH has great dyes...that's where I get the majority of my FO's from. In fact, just poured their Pumpkin Cheesecake and my stomach is growling...yummy.
  9. Good morning sleepy head....not good without my coffee either . CS is Candlescience.
  10. I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a true orange dye for IGI 6006. Seems all I get is a coral orange. I've only tried Candlescience Autumn Orange dye chip and trying to mix my own orange using CS's red and yellow dye chips. They are not giving me a true Halloween orange . I'm thinking I want to use liquid dyes anyway and am gradually switching over. Anyone have suggestions on a good liquid orange dye? Liquid dyes in general? TIA Karen
  11. How in the world would you wash with a bar of soap like that! Wouldn't all that stuff on it scratch? As you can tell I don't make soap. While it's very pretty to look at...a definite work of art..just give me a bar that smells great and preforms.
  12. That's what I use. I do add about 20% soy to help smooth out dimples and pour a little bit cooler than recommended...145-150. Works for me. KY parasoy makes great tarts.
  13. Wickless candles are just candles without the wicks. You place them on a candlewarmer and as the wax melts the fragrance is released into the air. They are kinda like self contained tarts. I use 8 oz aluminum tins. I use FO's so I'm not sure about EO's. Not sure if they would be strong enough either but maybe someone on this board who uses them can tell you more. Can you use this wax in B&B products?
  14. Maybe make wickless candle tins to sell. Selling it in the classifieds is a really good idea.
  15. I add 20% soy to my KY parasoy tart wax and it smooths out the little dimples. Tarts still remain firm and release from the clamshells and molds. HTH. Karen
  16. I think it looks wonderful..I know you have a little bit of tweaking to do but it's looking great! Love your color choices. Congrats. If I ever take the dive into selling on line I'll be using them too. Have fun!
  17. It'll be great in soap...just not so much in my 6006 or even the Ky tart wax and pretty much everything is wonderful in the KY.
  18. Ditto....I pretty much stick with CS, AH and Backwoods.
  19. Tootie..it will definitely help sales...just make sure it's a small sample..I learned the hard way of giving away too much (my generous nature). Darn..just received my wax delivery from KY and no tart sample..pooh.
  20. I use the Ky parasoy wax for tarts but use 1.5 oz/pound for all my FO's. I use a lot from Candlescience but still use the 1.5 oz amount. Just like my tarts to be super strong. The one I was disappointed in was Palm Tree but I don't think this is a strong fragrance to begin with.
  21. I never get free tarts either!!! How do you guys rate that?
  22. Candlemakers store..I think a one pound bag is $4.99. I'm not familar with any other suppliers brand.
