  1. I 2nd the Aroma Haven Pumpkin Creme Brulee. I just ordered a larger bottle that is coming tomorrow. Also love the Gingerbread Latte from Backwoods. Still have to try the Honey Gingerbread and Pumpkin cappaccino from Backwoods. I have samples of both and they are great OOB. New for me is Amish Harvest from Peak, which is not new to anyone but me probably. It is just okay-not my favorite. #1 Pumpkin Creme Brulee AH/RE #2 Gingerbread Latte BW #3 Pumpkin Souffle CS New for me #4 Cinnamon Buns Peak New for me
  2. I use Aroma Haven's Artisan's Perfume Base. It accepts up to 30% FO and smells awesome after 24 hours. I love it. I also use their little misters and they are so cute! Edited to add: Don't heat this base. It's liquid (alcohol) and flammable. I just put FO in with dropper and then add base with dropper and shake. Super easy!
  3. I have it. I like the scent throw, but had trouble wicking it so I am currently using it for tarts in the clamshells. Works great for me. Good throw. I got a lot of soot with any wicks that I tried, though. I am using a different parasoy blend for containers that I can get locally. Maybe you will have better luck than me if you try to wick it.
  4. I don't use 100% soy, but I recommend Gingerbread Latte from Backwoods. So nice!
  5. I want to make the broken tart pieces and I was planning on pouring them into a cookie sheet and then breaking it up. I was wondering if anyone has done them and what wax you use. I have 4794 available locally, but I don't know if it would work.
  6. Okay, my hot throw is great...and it was very easy to wick. Burns very nice. I highly recommend !!!
  7. If it helps, QVC online also has can openers that leave smooth edges. It really works! No chance of getting cut.
  8. I will try to pour a tester tomorrow, so I will get back to you on the HT in a couple of days. I use a parasoy blend.
  9. No offense, candle nutz, but I think that you are using a bit too much oil. A good quality oil should provide a good hot throw with 1 oz. per pound. I have bumped up to 1.2 oz per pound on just a couple, but usually one ounce will do. Sometimes using too much fragrance can actually weaken the throw and makes the candle hard to wick. Don't waste your money using so much oil. JMO-Hope that helps. Also, some fragrances just do not do well in some waxes. If it doesn't have a great hot throw with 1 oz. I would try a new oil. Measure on the scale and keep good notes. You may also want to let the candle "cure" for a couple of days before testing. Most will not throw right away. I have never used beeswax so I am not sure of a cure time for that.
  10. I just received my Peak order and I had a new free sample, which is one of my favorite Yank** scents. Mango Peach Salsa. I haven't poured it yet, but it is great OOB. Hope it's a winner.
  11. I personally wouldn't go below the $4 price on a 4 ounce candle. I think $1 per ounce is very reasonable and make it worth your time to make. Also, don't be too quick to lower your price. I have been to shows where sales are slower and wanted to do the same, but stick by your price and have pride for your work. You will end up making more money in the end to people who will appreciate the quality of your work. A cheap candle can be bought at Wallie World. A handcrafted candle is much more valuable. JMO
  12. I use them, and I think the quality is just as good as most. The only I have found slightly superior are Peak's oils. But with Bittercreek I recommend sticking with ones that other people recommend. Check their message boards out for suggestions. I use BCN Blueberry Muffins, BCN Vanilla Bean Supreme, BCS Banana Nut Bread, BCS Dogwood, BCN Lilac, BCS Sugar Cookies, BCS Lemon Pound Cake. I know there are some other great ones too.
  13. Leah- I am glad you turned out liking the Co Cream Pie. I think that the coconut isn't as strong smelling because it is sweet smelling like pie. Still a to-die-for fragrance. I also like the mandarin spice OOB, but haven't poured it yet.
  14. I just tested some KY and Peak fragrances. My favorite of all is Coconut Cream Pie from KY. I also like CS Apples & Maple Bourbon, too. From Peak, Pomegranate is my favorite.
  15. I saw that today too and I am excited. I haven't ordered from them in a while but I want the first five on your list for sure.
  16. Thanks. I checked it out! Very affordable too.
  17. I can understand that completely. I have a mix of types in my area and my hubby has some more "upscale" friends that he knows through work. I am just nervous, but I guess it's worth a shot. I personally love my mason jars and we live near an Amish community so the prim demand is here.
  18. But the line overall sells well for you?
  19. I am trying to make a business decision and it is driving me crazy. I sell primitive mason jar candles currently. I have been contemplating adding a new status jar line, because I have people that are looking for something more contemporary. I was going to have different scents in those jars, but then I am worried people will start asking can you do this scent in this jar and all that. Does anyone do this without a problem or is it a bad idea?
  20. I use the hang tags from Labels by the Sheet. I use the black prim lids on my jars so I buy black elastic from Michaels to hang them with. I have gotten many compliments on them. I considered labels on the jars, but I have seen lids get all mixed up at parties where people are passing them around, so that wouldn't work good for me. Also I offer people a discount for returning the lid to me...they are so expensive, I like to reuse them. That would be a pain to get labels back off. That being said, I make sure that my caution label has all my business info as well, because hang tags are easy for a wholesale customer to remove. I like to keep my name on the jar somewhere.
  21. Thanks. I already order from there, so I will check them out.
  22. I am new to M&P. Bought supplies form the classies to try it out. Now I am wondering what types of colorants to buy. I just made my first batch and love it! Now I need more colors. My base is from WSP, but they have so many different types of colors I am confused. Please help. TIA
  23. Thanks Candybee! That's my plan. I am going to go for it!
