  1. Where do you get your tins, Stella, if you don't mind me asking. Deb
  2. I am currently using their cinnamon blend 2. That's the only one I have bought but I have heard their orange is very good too. I have smelled several of their scents oob and they smell great but the only one I put in wax is the cinnamon. It smells pretty good but I am not a cinnamon person. I only make it because people love it. Deb
  3. Thanks for the good ideas. I am glad to know I am not the only lopsided labeler. Deb
  4. I use ecos. For most of my FOs in jjs, I use Eco 10s but for VV, it gets an Eco 8. I have a few others that are wicked down to an 8, mostly summer scents. I tested Honeysuckle Jasmine from CS with my usual 10 and it wasn't that bad but a little sooty and hot at the end. I am now testing it with an 8 to see if I can fix that. I was really surprised about the very vanilla because I assumed it would be a heavier scent and had a bit of a time with it originally. I was using LX wicks when I first got the VV and I found it was true for the LX too. Very Vanilla is my only scent that I don't add dye to. Deb
  5. Thanks, Please don't do anything interesting until 5/1/09.
  6. If I ever get out of "no man's land" and can post everywhere, I might be interested too. Right now I am less than thirty days and they only let me have a very short leash for fear that I will bite someone. I am trying to chew through it but the thirty days will be up before I break the last thread. Can someone check my profile and tell me my register date? I can't get to my profile because it is off limits to me. Deb
  7. Trapp, Please try this again after your candle cures for a week or so. Another thing I found with VV is that you actually have to wick it down (I do anyway) instead of up like you usually do for a vanilla. Since you do wick it down, your melt pool is smaller and you need to wait a good hour or two on the first burn to to get a lot of scent going. This is actually my lowest wicked candle. HTH Deb
  8. I took a Very Vanilla candle to work today so I could burn it in a different environment besides by house. I thought my candle nose might stay home. My office is about 15 x 15 and the door stays open. After about two hours of burning, the scent was really strong. At three hours, I couldn't wait to blow it out ( the scent was good but I had had enough). It was an 8 oz. jj and was made about a month ago. I left it at work so I could keep testing. Just thought I would share. Deb
  9. Okay, I contacted them today and they were very nice. They do ship to the states but its not cheap. I live in PA and 5 lbs would cost $25 to ship to me. Deb
  10. My head is spinning! You guys love a challenge. The people doing the fundraiser only wanted three because it is easier for them to carry samples. So no fair asking for more (but I will see if they will add one more) . I agree with all of you. Based on your suggestions, I am thinking the following: Cranberry Marmalade or plain cinnamon (spice) Sweet pea and Vanilla (floral) or a berry (fruit) Pumpkin Souffle or snickerdoodle (bakery) I can't use vanilla because my tins rust. Any comments? Deb
  11. Tell me about it! I was thinking a bakery, a spice and a fruit/flower. Open to ideas for each or for whatever sells. TIA - Deb
  12. Hi, I am doing a fundraiser in the fall. I would like to offer three scents in 4 oz. tins. I use C3. What three scents would you offer? I am more interested in getting your ideas about general scents instead of specific scents. For example, vanilla, cinnamon and blueberry instead of "very vanilla from CS," "cinnamon buns from Peaks," etc. I would like to get it narrowed down generally first. The fundraiser will be in September, October and November. Thanks, Deb
  13. Magenta liquid dye from CS makes very nice hot pinks depending on how much you put it. A little goes a long way.
  14. What color do you make your Raspberry Chocolate?
  15. Does the vanilla frosting throw well in soy both hot and cold? I am willing to change. Trappeur has me thinking that the VV throw is in my head maybe. I am going to send out some testers to friends and get their opinions. I swear, sometimes I think I will never smell normally again. I can't imagine how my dog feels.:rolleyes2 Deb
  16. I use 1.5 pp with no dye. It is a scent that gets better with curing. I used to use it in a soy/paraffin mixture and it was awesome. It is not as strong in the C3 but still good. Please post if you find one that throws awesome in the C3. I am always willing to smell yet another vanilla! Deb
  17. I am surprised to hear that you were not happy with VV from CS. I use it in C3 and have had great luck with it. I use it in the 8 oz jj size. Interesting. My only complaint is that is causes my tins to rust and I can't use it for them. When I first got VV, I hated it OOB but once I put it in wax, I loved it. I'm a vanilla person though. Deb
  18. Peaks Genuine Leather is very strong in C3. Reminds me of an old leather jacket. But that's just me. Deb
  19. Thank you for the recommendation. I will contact them this week. I wonder why USA suppliers are not offering these. After I knew what they were called, I googled and found sites in the UK and in Australia but none in the states. They seem to be between a regular tealight and a small votive. Anyway, thanks so much. Deb
  20. I love those... they would be perfect. I wonder if they ship to the states?
  21. Do you think black cherry would work? I have black cherry from CS and it is really strong. I am now trying it with vanilla after a friend told me it reminded her of the air freshener used in public restrooms. Deb
  22. Thanks for the ideas. Right now I am trying a raspberry lime mix and a vanilla lime mix. We'll see how they set up and burn. Spearmint... ..hmm...interesting. I don't have any Spearmint but I have some Jack Frost which is peppermint and pine. I did find that the lime is more powerful than the mixers. I did 1/2 and 1/2 of the raspberry lime and I wish I would have done less lime and more raspberry. We'll see. I'll keep you posted if you're interested. Deb
  23. Hi, I have Lime Cooler from CS. I really like it but I can't sell it, even in the summer. I have a whole bottle and would like to find something to mix it with so I can sell what I have but I am having a hard time thinking of something to mix it with. I know there is a coconut lime mix already out there along with a violet lime mix. Any other ideas? Thanks, Deb
  24. Okay, I think I am the worst label applier in the world. Does anybody have any helpful tips on getting the #$%@ things centered and straight? Thanks, Deb
