  1. Just doing a quick search on google, I came up with several links for recipes. On DIY there were 3, and one used vinegar, stating that it cleaned the wood. Three Royal Furniture Polish Recipes Note: Once these homemade recipes have been mixed, pour them in clean, labeled glass or plastic containers. Recipe #1 1 cup mineral oil 3 drop of lemon oil or extract Recipe #2 2 oz. grated beeswax 5 oz. turpentine Recipe #3 1 cup olive oil 1/4 cup white vinegar Note: The oil nourishes the wood while the vinegar cleans it. Recipes #1 and #2 can be stored in glass or plastic (make sure they're clean) containers, but #3 should be poured into a spray bottle.
  2. You might want to read the review posted in the first link. Apparently the cap doesn't stay on securely.
  3. Found them: Oralabs Mini Tubes or Oralabs Mini Tubes
  4. Question -- for the massage oil, you state above that adding Vit E or safflower oil will limit the shelf life to 3 months, yet your start with sunflower or safflower oil. I think safflower oil has a short shelf life and is not the best oil to use; however, I don't see how Vit E would shorten the shelf life. Could you clarify this? Thanks!
  5. Isn't it wonderful? You might try it in a body butter, lotion or face cream.
  6. Thank you, Sarah . . . I was looking only at the EO blends, since I don't use FOs. I wonder if I could create something similar . . .
  7. The article makes sense, even if shea isn't officially "graded". I believe that the less refined any ingredient is, the better, because the properties haven't been compromised. Try using monoi with unrefined shea. Wonderful scent!
  8. We got some wonderful goodies in the swap last May. I've been hoarding many things. Trejen (Marquee Candles) made this wonderful facial scrub with a "relaxing" scent. She told me she couldn't remember where she got the scent, perhaps BB. I didn't find it there -- they have a calming blend and a sleepy time blend. I did find a relaxing blend at WSP. Wish I could put a scratch and sniff inserted in this post! Does anyone know where I can find this scent? I'd love to put it in a face cream.
  9. I prefer uncolored for lip balms. For lip gloss, coloring would be all right.
  10. Have you tried a health food store? I've got the Lily of the Desert brand - a quart for about $7. Did some online research and also found that Watson Foods Co has an edible flavored glitter made from acacia gum.
  11. What type of glitter do you use? Is it cosmetic or just the craft type?
  12. Here's an anti-wrinkle face oil formula: 20% borage oil 20% thistle oil 20% Vit E 20% rosehip seed oil 10% peach kernel oil 10% sweet almond oil
  13. That's a good question and perhaps there will be differing opinions. I think mango butter absorbs more quickly, so it appears to be less greasy. It's also a softer butter than cocoa.
  14. The formula you're referencing makes 3 oz. It depends on your containers. Lots of folks use the 1 oz pushup containers, so it would make 3 of those.
  15. Anyone else check this link out? Looks like a very cool company and they've been in business for a very long time.
  16. Robin, I have certified organic virgin coconut oil (from Soaper's Choice) that is solid at room temp. I've never used coconut oil 76. Are they similar in consistency?
  17. Have you got any jars? Balms usually need to be in tins or jars.
  18. I'm sure it would. That first recipe looks like Taurus' recipe from the Whisk. She's in South Africa, so I don't think she uses FCO. I'm guessing it's virgin coconut oil.
  19. Yep, that's the way it's suppose to be. babryn, do you use a lot of CO ingredients? I do and am looking to put a buying group together.
  20. Soaper's Choice also has some organic oils. http://www.soaperschoice.com There are actually quite a few online sources -- just depends on what you're looking for.
  21. How about ordering a case of them? Try this site: http://www.madinaonline.com/perfumerollon.htm
  22. Why do they call it colloidal oatmeal if it's just regular oatmeal ground up?
  23. Whereabouts in Wisconsin? I lived in Eau Claire for several years when I was younger. I remember -60 degree weather! You might consider swapping some ingredients with others so you can continue R&D with new stuff.
  24. I agree with Cindy . . . don't waste rosehip seed oil in soap. Actually, she probably shouldn't be using soap on her face if she's older!
