I would be more than happy with 3 x 100 lb melters, 1 for my soy, 1 for feather palm and 1 for container palm. That would kep me happy for a while. Richard

We have been using this scent for about 2 years and it would have to be one of our best sellers in jars. Flys off the shelf at all times of the year. I believe that they have just recently chande the fomulation, think I read that on their site somewhere. Richard

Very nice and look so smooth. I imagine you would have a hard time in Sweden with the weather and making tarts. My father is Swedish, but alas I have yet to get over there to visit where he was born. One of these days I will manage it. You could also try to make your own silicone molds which is really not all that difficult. Richard

It's not the colour or the look rather the brittle nature of palm that would be a concern. Just not quite sure how it would hold up compared to paraffin.

Dipped TP has always amused me....LOL. Just don't think it would sell here in Oz and not quite sure how it would work with palm wax either which is what we use outside of containers. Looks great though

Thanks so much everyone for your kind comments. I however cannot take credit for the display. Tracy has to take all of the credit for that part of it. She is the creative half of this partnership, think pillar candles, mini shaped melts, display etc, while I am the scientific half, think testing, testing, testing and jars....LOL LadyJo - an open home in this situation is where you basically open your home or part of it up to the public as a kind of a sudo shop. In this case it was our entire lounge area. We had been telling people at markets for the past 2 months as well as about 1000 flyers in mail boxes, a small add in the local paper and of course our mailing list & facebook page. We had no expectation of how it would all go, could have been 3 people and could have been 300, but we were going to be home all weekend in any case so it did not really matter I guess. Probably all up have 30 - 40 people come through over the weekend, but being Christmas spending was somewhat crazy as it gets at this time of the year. Cheers Richard

We used that oil from Bert as as far as I am aware it is one and the same.

Heat gun and paper towels here only as well. The paper towel company must be real pleased with us here I reckon, currently have like 40+ rolls in the garage...LOL Richard

Well also along the line of stupid warnings. A 10 ft tall plush teddy sitting on a chair outside of a store, with a warning label that stated..... "Do not machine wash" Don't know about you guys, but our washing machine sure wouldn't fit it in.....LOL Richard

Yes very nice picture. And I also agree with Stella. 4" containers can be single wicked. We use apothecary jars with a 4" diameter and everything we do is single wicked. if I cant get a oil to work in my system with one wick, then it goes either into melts or into the discontinued pile, or perhaps into a different range we make with glass glow instead. I have used my Pixma under Linux, although it was a while ago now, so cant remember exactly what I did in regards to drivers. I do all my printing on a Pixma, but also have the Samsung CLP 315. The issue with the Samsung is that it only has a single centre take up roller to feed the paper which I find tends to always twist a little on entering, hence stuffing my label alignment. It just gets used for printing invoices these days and the canon does all of the label work. Richard

So to add to this discussion. We are using distilled water, preservative, polysorbate20 & FO. No alcohol at this stage. Our base however is a milky white colour, rather than clear. Is this due to not using alcohol / witchazel etc. Not that it really matters too much as it is in a brushed aluminium bottle, however if we ever did decide to go with a clear bottle this would obviously be an issue. So I guess the question is how do you get your sprays looking clear rather than cloudy. Cheers Richard

Dont even go down the soap path.....LOL. I have tinkered and would love to do more, but I guess until they can put both more hours in the day and more days in the week it will remain tinkering for me unfortunately. Richard

We use cans that we recycle and grubby ourselves. They are probably one of our best selling lines, but a load of work goes into them though. Don't have picture handy, but can be viewed on our website under the unique items category if you are interested. Cheers Richard

Hi Stella and thanks again for a well written insightful post The points that you make I do agree with. We had no idea on how to burn candles either, and yes testing has taught us so much. I guess my real point was in regards to size. One would think it quite logical that a larger candle would scent a larger room and that by placing a smaller candle into that same room, by way of logic it would just not throw as much scent. Perhaps I am expecting too much, and when chatting with customers, we do always take the extra time to educate and advise, as by doing this the customer will indeed get much better results from their purchase. We do know that this works, as I have had many customers come back and comment on how well the candles burn and smell when they have followed our directions as stated. Assuming that they read the label is a very good point as I reckon that most would not bother. I never used to Cheers Richard

Ron I have total confidence in my products, just wish that customers were not made up from the lowest common denominator. Even knowing nothing about candles, you surely would think logic says that a smaller diameter jar is going to suit a smaller room than a larger diameter jar. It's really not rocket science I don't think. Richard
