figure the cost of wax in a container candle?I thought I was doing it right,then I don't think I am doing it right.I use 20 ozs of wax in my jar.I use J50 which comes 55 lbs to the case,and it cost me $57.00 with no shipping,I pick the wax up at a local supplier.Please someone help me,I'm not good at math. I don't know which dye changed the scent.right before i poured I smell the wax and it smell like fuel.The wax didn't like that before I added the dye. Anna

It may be my imagination,but after I added the liq dye to the wax after I had stirred the fo,the dye seemed to have changed the scent.Use two dyes from differant companys(sp?).Has this every happen to anyone? Thanks,Anna

your wax by adding crisco?I read a post where someone added crisco to there wax.What does it do for your wax?I am using J50. Thanks,Anna

I use wick stickums with no problem,but they didn't stick to the wick tab b/c I had reused wicks that had dried hot glue on them.Sorry this was so confusing.I was so p$#ed last night for trying to pinch a penny.Maybe today will be better.Happy Labor to everyone. Anna

tonite.I had hot glue some wicks in jars,and later decided not to use the jars,I prised (sp?)the wicks loose,pulled the hot glue off the tab,put wick stickums on them.Wicked 6 jars with them,pour the hot wax,pulled the wicks tight,and guess what, the tabs came loose from the stickums.All six of them!I'm not going to tell you what came out of my mouth.Lesson learned!! Anna

purchase Jack Frost fo from BCS.I made a container candle with this fo two weeks ago.Open it this morning,and no cold throw at all,smells like wax.Lite it,good burn,but no hot throw.Just wanted to know if anyone else use this fo.1 1/2 oz per lb,J50 wax.Pour it just like I do the rest of my containers. I pick up most of my supplies from a local supplier,except for fo,I order them.If the gas prices keep soaring,I'm afraid it going to put the little man out.

They smoke really bad I have been told.Hers is not as strong as mine,I use 1 1/2 ozs per lb,I doubt that she does.

how this lady can sell her candles so cheap.She sales wholesale to a couple of women here in my town,which is very small.She sells them for five dollors,and they sell them for ten dollors.She uses the same jar I use,which holds 20 ozs of liq wax,and two wicks.The women said they would buy from me if I would sell for the same price.I can't b/c it cost me almost five dollors to make one.The lady that sells the candles does quite a few craft shows,and been selling candles for a few years.She must get her wax for a good price. new jar I'm testing has been a PITA.It is called a mustard jar,3 1/2 ins wide.I tried to single wick it with a 62 z,didn't work.Tried two 51's,two 44/32,two 44/28 zincs,none of these worked.The melt pool was too deep,too fast,in a hr it had a full melt pool.So I decided to tried a 1312 HTP,after 4 hrs full melt pool,and 1/2 in deep,burning good.I am using j50 wax,my question is has anyone use this wick with j50,and is it alright to use this wick with j50?Has anyone every use this jar?Sorry this is so long. e,My DH ask me the other day wasnt I tired of this hobby yet.I have had so many hobbies,and tire of them very quickly.I told him no I was going to make and test candles until I had the perfect candle to sell to the public.This is a addiction(worse than cigarettes). Anna

They do burn good with the 44's,but how long should 12 ozs of wax last?The 10oz apot holds 12 ozs of wax.

Thanks,e you are always helpful.I will try the burn rate,Iwon't let her test anymore.She told me she blew one wick out,and was burning only one wick,OMG.I told her she couldn't do that,the candle wouldn't get a full melt pool.I will test them myself. debsent,I tried the 60 zinc,it didn't work.Thanks Angela,that's what I will probley do with the jars(I have quiet a few)use them for wickless candles,but first I am going to do a burn rate test.

my tester says my candle is burning up to fast.It is a 10 oz apot with 2 44/28/18 zinc,and j50 wax.It is between 3 1/2 to 4 in wide.She suggested to use one wick,which I had already tried and couldn't get good results.thought about using a cotton core wick. Please help Thanks,Anna

You know what tick me off,is when you test you color on a white plate,and when the candle cure it a completely a differant color. Anna
