  1. I never did find much use for my mold cleaner, TBO. I ended up selling it in the classifieds. I have a much better time w/ a heat gun and paper towels, or a paint chipper to get wax up. Just my preference, though. One less thing to buy
  2. I got mine from Bubbles & Lights. Works well in CP, but does discolor. Very nice FO.
  3. I was waiting on this too. Microwave rebatching... They look good, Eugenia.
  4. I was thinking you were talking soap... Very nice job, there. Might wanna share you secrets!!
  5. Very nice collection - patchmint is one of my favs - just made some!!
  6. I use both as well. I would agree that if you are going the "natural" way, EOs are more along that line. I like both, though, and personally couldn't do away with either.
  7. I scented the Mulberry with Pomegranate - LOL. It does smell nice, though. And it feels nice as well. I totally replaced my OO for soy in that batch. I do wish the color would have came out more, but ah well. Cream does feel nice - Feels richer to me. I don't know if it is a placebo effect or what, but I think I can tell the difference. I add it at trace. The top of the soap is lavender buds. Hope I answered all Qs - thanks for the nice comments!!
  8. A couple of my recent batches: (sorry if this is all a repeat - posted the same on the 'Dish as here - ) We have mulberries growing by our soccer field and I've always wanted to soap them. Since they stain the crap outta the kid's faces I figured they'd make a really rich colored soap. Uh... no. Not really. I put cream in here as well. It is a "mostly soy" experiement, no OO at all, hence some of the shine, I think. Anyway, here it is: And then there's my lavender batch. Used silk and cream in this one as well as sugar and lavendar EO. I think I'm in love!! And it made the neatest swirls - looks like a face to me. I had so much fun with this batch, can ya tell?
  9. Yes, I'm another one who prefers natural. CCB has a chocolately scent that you may or may not like, and shea butter has a nutty scent. Refining takes out that scent, but refining butters takes away some of their natural qualities as well, at least in the shea butter it does. You can google up the CCB.
  10. Sure Carmen - I think and talk fast, sorry if that didn't make sense. I should have had the word "batch" in there or something. I mean, I do like you did. Say I'm making Pink Sugar, I might scent 2/3 of it, but keep that other 1/3 out (because PS discolors). Then I'll color that non-scented soap pink and put that as a layer in the middle. Just so it doesn't all turn brown and I can put a splash of pink in it. Or w/vanilla, do a blind swirl with that 1/3 of unscented so the rest turns brown but the unscented part stays white. Right now I have a batch of PS that I'm going to rebatch on purpose so I can put some color in there (some unscented, pink soap shreds). OK, does that make sense now?
  11. I often don't scent a discoloring FO and only color part of it. Gives a little more flexibility with the soap design. Like the Pink Sugar. How can ya do PS and have it be brown? Customers don't get that - they want PINK!! So ya got to get creative
  12. Jacqui - welcome back My best sellers were my soaps, without a doubt.
  13. Thank goodness for rebatches!! Your post brought back a memory of a vanilla soap that I had a similar issue with, the middle was still gel. But all was good after I let it set. I was grossed/weirded out by it, though, at first.
  14. What do you mean? It is BEAUTIFUL!! Kidding. Dang, what the heck? I had a gooey soap once and it was just that I went to cut it too soon. But jease, after oven and sitting it should be done. Bah. Yanno, I think it might have been still gelling. New FO?
  15. I commented on those on the 'Dish, but gotta say again, that blue is awesome. Nice job, Janis. Very prety swirls.
  16. Thanks for posting this Carmen, I've been contemplating the same thing, especially since each batch looks a little bit different. I thought about having a rotating random picture or something. I like looking at the different soaps, but am not sure how customers feel about it, if they like it or if it matters.
  17. I do often use 1/2 OO 1/2 RBO. I like RBO!!
  18. Love checking people's sites out - glad this was started. It is inspiring. Henry, I'm another one who likes your site. I like the clean look of it and if I weren't going for more of a funky look, that is along the lines of how I'd want mine. And I've always like the natural, organic look of Robin's. Kind of the opposite of what I have. I hope people keep posting more sites!!
  19. I've had success on using the ornament to make balls. A lot has to do with having a decent recipe, I've found The right combo. Seriously, at least with the ornaments it is more the consistancy of the the mix than the technique. Because when it is the right consistancy, it works and when it isn't it won't. What happens when you try to make a full ball? Does it fall apart or stick in the mold, etc?
  20. I find the bb saga so interesting because different things work for different people. I've tried a zillion "no fail" recipes, only to have them fail!!! Argh. LOL. My recipe consists of oil, cornstarch, baking soda and citric acid (and FO) and I can NOT get any other recipe to work for me (like ones with salts, witch hazel or alcohol). And believe me, I've tried. But I did manage to make an awesome bomb that got good reviews from testers. With the two halves sticking together, I had success with that, and then decided to go with two separate halves for something different. Are you using a meatballer for your balls?
  21. What are you using to mold your bombs?
  22. Google it and you come up with 1000 candle sites, so there ya go. It is a scent. But you knew that. Don't know about the Frangelico (coffee maybe) part but the streusel is a dessert. Get a sample and try it out (LOL, looks like Terri and I were posting at the same time - I'm starting to like the sound of this Frangelico stuff...)
  23. I have never been able to get mine to work. I have no clue as to why, either. Have played with it many times.
