  1. Thanks all for the great replies. I did get some samples from Tennessee candle and they all smell great. When I smelled the cinnamon bread pudding, OMG! That one I poured into a batch of tarts just because I loved it. The maple walnut fudge smells great oob but I haven't poured it yet, I was too excited about the cinnamon bread pudding. I will be pouring the other ones today. Thanks again.
  2. Thanks a bunch for your tips. I just placed an order with Tennessee candle, I'm going to try that maple walnut fudge. It does sound good so does that maple nut crunch.
  3. I'm looking for a maple walnut crunch and haven't come up with it yet. I did find maple walnut but any suggestions on what to mix with it for the crunch? I even thought of mixing maple butter cream with pecan pie and call it maple nut crunch, but this person asked for the maple walnut crunch. Thanks for any suggestions.
  4. I just got some stick ums and they won't stick at all. I always used the glue dots from CS, worked well for me. Now I have to find a place that will sell the glue dots again. Does anybody know who else carries the glue dots?
  5. Wow glad to see I'm not alone on this company. I have had trouble with contacting them too. I even called many times and never did speak to anyone. Then I thought they were ignoring my emails so I decided to do something to get their attention. I sent an email every time I walked past my computer for days, just to be annoying so they would feel my frustration. I never did hear anything back but they ended up making it right. What stinks is I have a handful of scents that sell very well for me. I have even tried buying the same scents from other companies and they smelled so different. Like chestnuts and brown sugar, I can't find another that compares. Sorta puts me in between a rock and a hard space.
  6. Lyndsay I am trying this recipe today with the corn start and I will pm you with my results.
  7. I'm with Lynsday, can you use corn starch instead of Isopropyl Myristate? I tried the original recipe on the first page and came out real greasy. I remelted it down and added 1/2 oz more of the beezwax and it cut some of the grease, but it's still pretty greasy. I was wondering if anybody tried anything else to cut down on the grease? Thanks for your advice.
  8. So did you do the experiment??? Does the vanilla stabilizer work for the warm vanilla sugar? I'm real curious, I would like to try to make some lotion in that scent but I'm not sure where to order some vanilla additives that work. Can someone help me out on this please?:undecided I have been trying three different UV stabilizers for candles and only found one to be worth using. BC worked the best for me, but it's so expensive.
  9. I use 415 and it throws real well in that.
  10. I was going to try this one next (soy whip) but now I'm not sure if I should. I just started last month tinkering with lotions. I purchased a multi-base from candles and supplies. I followed their instructions on adding 1% additive (shea butter). Then I added warmed distilled water with FO in it. Whipped it very well and ended up with a very nice lotion. The only thing I would change is I would like it to be a bit thicker, but its not that big of deal. :yay:Its my first try so Im happy.
  11. Yes I was planning on trying the original batch as soon as I get some kokum butter.
  12. I would like to try this but I like having a scent to it. Can I add FO and if so how much? Thanks
  13. I tried cdn's in a side by side test and they didn't have the scent throw that the eco and lx did. I used 415 wax and the same jars with the same fo. I asked everybody who came through the door compare the throw from these two and the cdn never threw as well as the other two. That's just my experiment others will probably disagree.
  14. I'm not real wild about the spout pointing straight out, that looks a bit dangerous. I did check their feedback and I found only one negative and it was on the shipping end of the deal. I'm going to give these people a call today. Thanks friends for your input.
  15. Has anyone ever purchased this wax melter? I saw this and wondered if it would be something I could get to melt 25 lbs of 415 at one time. I have read how people have used the turkey cooker, but can a person use it for pure soy? Then I read how the turkey cooker would burn wax. Would this be safer? Now if I can fugure out how to put in a link. If I can't it's on ebay under wax melter. Thanks for your replies. It's auction # 120371490885
  16. I just received both of these scents and I can't find what color suggestions would be for those scents. Does anybody want to throw any color ideas my way? They both smell wonderful oob. I just hope they both throw well. Thanks a bunch!
  17. I use the one from JS. My daughter says it smells just like her boyfriend which that's all he wears. I didn't tell her what it was, I just had her smell it and right away shes says "what is that? It smells like Adam!" That is coming from a 19 year old so I would say it must smell like the real McCoy.
  18. Yep they stuck together for me using lemon verbena fo. So I guess it is something with the citrus.
  19. I have purchased aroma beads from Candles and supplies and from Creative Illuminations. I never had any stick together like you stated. I have pretty many scents in jars to make aroma ornies and have yet to have any problems. The only thing I notice different between different suppliers is one supplier I bake for 4 minutes and the other I bake for 8 minutes. The ones I got from creative illuminations melted faster. I have a smoke eliminator fo, I'm going to try it to see if it does the same as yours did. I'll let you know.
  20. Heirloom, What end of the state are you in? Keystone candle is another one in PA.
  21. When I tested the advanced I could not get any hot throw at all. The wax was easy to work with and it looked pretty but the scent was not there for me when it was burning, JMO.
  22. Heiloom, I see your in PA, why don't you try something from Quakertown? They have a lot of choices of wax and depending where you are located you could save on shipping. I get a lot of my items there to save on shipping.
