Good Morning! I made up a tester reed diffuser with Northwoods Christmas (BCN). At a 50/50 mixture there was no noticeable scent. I added more base to make it 25/75 (I think) and I still have nothing. Before I start over and try more FO than base I thought I would check here to see if anyone here has had luck with this FO or any other pine scent. I am starting to gear up for the winter shows. TIA

Well, what I do is test for FO strength in my smaller jars at the same time I test the wick. If the FO is good them I move on to the larger size jar and test the wicking for the larger jar. I only make two sizes.

I have to put my vote in for Peaks Patchouli. I just use it in incense but is very close to the real thing.

So they will work best as car fresheners to hang on the rear view mirror. That's good to know because that is exactly what I was thinking about trying.

Thanks for the reply. I think the sites I was looking at were more geared towards aromatherapy. It is good to know you can use FOs. Might have to give these things a better look.

I have a question about these....I was looking on google and every site I found says you use essentail oils on these. Do you have to use EOs or can you use regular FOs?

I tried doing a search on here but it will not work for me. Keeps telling me I am forbidden. Posted a thread in the board usage section but no answer. I am assuming it is because of the maintenance going on because I was able to do searches before. ANYWHO........can someone here please give me an idea what the best dupe is for Yankme's Midsummer's Night? I have someone who says it is the best and I would like to see if I can get it somewhere. I appreciate your time in answering. Thank you!

I have to add my vote for adding at a higher temp. I usually add at 185 and stir for at least 3 minutes. The HT seems better that way. It took me a lot of reading and testing to figure that one out.

Actually the reeds that were in your first post looked like the ones that BCN carries. They are wire on the inside covered with fabric. The oil travels up the fabric. I have not got around to testing them too much yet. I have ordered them but only tested them in one FO and was not impressed. They might work with other FOs, not sure.

I use the pretabbed waxed wicks. I have not compared prices so I am not sure if the wicks by the yard are cheaper or not. Pretabbed just seems easier. I think if you are making candles that are really tall the wick by the yard would work the best. HTH

I have used both the regular sticks and the charcoal sticks from BCN and to be honest I think the regular sticks burned longer and I just liked the way they burned better. And they are cheaper! Some people say that you get a better scent throw and less smoke with the charcoal but I did not notice enough of a difference to pay the extra. HTH!

Mmm! That sounds yummy! I order most of my FOs and wax from another company but I am in need of some wax and their prices are so high. I checked out Peaks and they are so much cheaper and after figuring out shipping it would be better to order from Peaks so I thought I would just order a couple other things I need from them also. Not sure why there is such a difference in the wax prices but that is there loss I guess.

The bottles I have been using have corks in the tops. I warn about laying box on the side and try to keep them up in case the cork would loosen even though I have those things in there pretty tight.

Has anyone here tried Mac Apple from Peaks in straight soy (EzSoy or GB 415)? I usually order it from someplace else but I have to do an order from Peaks and wondering if I can just save on the shipping and order it from there. Any help would really be appreciated! Thank you! patty c

Not trying to be a smart a** here but I guess it depends on if your customer is a pessimist or an optimist! I have never had anyone ask me why the jar is only half full or half empty but then I have only been offering them for a few months. I think if anyone asked me I would just explain it does not need to be full.

I am not a Love Spell lover either but I have used BCN's Love Spell and also told it smells like the real deal.

I think the bottles I am using are 6 oz and I put 4 oz in it. It makes it about 2/3 full. You do not have to fill them all the way up for them to work.
