  1. I know it isn't pretty, but I use electrical tape when I ship oils in plastic which want to leak even though they are screw tops. The tape works great. DH is an electrician, so there's always electrical tape around. And I guess you can buy colors other than black. I just use black cuz it's here.
  2. I'm not understanding this part. If you have access to the admin section, then you can change the password even while it's on his hosting account. Then he won't be able to change it before you can get to it and lock you out or rechange it after you've changed the password. I'm just thinking off the top of my head. People will do crazy things to be vindictive. I'm not saying he's going to do this. There may be a perfectly good reason why he's not getting back to you, I don't know.
  3. You know, I wondered about that. I think a person may get an order or two, but looking on the websites, it just seems like there's people doing similar products and it would be a lot of people saying...oh, your website looks so nice and I love your labels, that sort of thing. I could be wrong, but that was my first thought.
  4. Very interesting reading. I used to raise ducks, chickens, sheep, etc and rendered fat. I noticed there's a lot of recipes with animal fat. I'm going to have to try some just to do it. Thanks!
  5. Good response. I am the administrator of my website, but I have a web person as well. I can do the same changes she does, so I have all the power, really. Is this guy doing the actual hosting? Or is a company doing that? I have a hosting company....quidnunc. I can change passwords, etc. I also use filezilla for my ftp program, which is a free program that you can download. Once you get this all handled, you may want to think about changing your passwords. I don't know if any of this helps, but I know doing websites is not that fun sometimes and can make your brain a limp noodle!
  6. I have Mal's as well on my website and manually call in my credit/debit. And it's the same account as my farmers markets and every other way I do merchant services.
  7. It'll be interesting to hear if others are doing this and their take on it.
  8. They're cute! So, you don't play with them, they're for looks and smell then. What do you do when they get dusty? Forgive me if I sound like a nutbag. I've never heard of this before!:smiley2:
  9. What is a website exchange? I have a links page.....is this different than what you are talking about?
  10. I think they both look good. The tester you'd want to seal somehow because it will stain with dripping oils from people testing them. Ask me how I know! I really like the cart. If only I had a spare 500 bucks! There's also this gal..... http://www.candlesandwoodcrafts.com/ She also does custom work. I have ordered from her over the years and have been happy with her work.
  11. Would still like to know....what is a dipped bear?
  12. Do you have any pictures? I have heard about dipped bears, but I don't understand the concept or what it is exactly.
  13. I use pacificbotanicals.com They are organic.
  14. I know. I was talking to Skiminims. I don't use FOs period.
  15. I get them every day. Delete them. I don't even waste any time getting mad over it. Not worth my time.
  16. Why not? My Comfrey Calendula Salve is the base for my lip balms.
  17. I don't plan a trip to Michigan anytime soon. I do love their free standing displays. Here's another one: http://www.candlesandwoodcrafts.com/ I have gotten things from her in the past. Good customer service. Fairly good at what she does. Sturdy.
  18. I will! My first farmers markets don't start until April. I have some free standing things I bought one at a yard sale and one at an antique mall. Very sturdy. I took pictures on my digital camera of them during the holiday fairs and my cord that goes to the computer to download them isn't working. Can a person get a new cord for a camera? By the way, raising the tables is something I've done and it works really good to get the products in peoples' faces.
  19. I use Orange Pekoe tea in the lye solution and loose tea for my Orange Pekoe soap.
  20. Keep up the good work. I'd be happy to help you if you need anything. I'm off for a hike now and then get ready for a soap making workshop I am teaching at a Country Living Expo on Saturday. I am so looking forward to it. I will have an information booth for my herb school and will be able to take classes all day on farm practices.
  21. Good for you to offer products with EOs only. I don't use any FOs, petroleum ingredients of any kind, synthetic colors or preservatives. I know that is controversial for this kind of forum, so I don't get into it. Especially since I have seen some abuse from a few unhappy members on this forum directed at folks who are just trying to learn. I do include my inventory, even though I don't make quite :smiley2: a million dollars per year in sales because doing so gives me a bit of a break on my taxes. Not the retail sales taxes, but the federal taxes.
  22. As in leftover items, do you mean leftover retail stock? If so, then yes. Thank you for the compliments! PS...when I clicked on your website address, I got the error message that I was forbidden by the server to enter site.
  23. Say you have a bar of soap that you retail for $6.00, but it costs you $1.67 to make (which includes your labor, of course!). For inventory purposes, you add $1.67 to the cost of goods sold tally for that particular bar of soap. Of course, if you have 25 bars of the soap that cost you $1.67, it would add $41.75 to the tally. And then you go on to the next item that has a different cog.
  24. Yes, that's what my bookkeeper tells me to do. I know it's confusing. That's why I hired her... let her do her craft and I get to do my craft.
