  1. 98% of my soaps are 100% milk. I prefer to make the milk cubes and add the lye to that. It's totally on what you wish.
  2. The easiest way that most people do it is, add 1 TB per pound of oils to the oils and stick blend in really well BEFORE you add your lye water. Me, I do it the hard way.. at least most think that... I reconstitute the milk powder, freeze it into cubes and then add my lye to my milk cubes.
  3. Cargill C3 wax and its a squarish container that is between 2.5- 2.75" diagonally.
  4. for a 6oz victorian jar? Yes, i did do a search, but didn't find what i am looking for. Need a starting point. Thanks!
  5. You can use a combination of both coconut and PKO. My personal preference is no higher than 25% of the total combined. That said, my skin can't handle more than about 15% coconut. Some of my customers can't handle it either. But it does lend great qualities to the soap when combined with PKO. PKO is a bit gentler on the skin.
  6. Not a chandler by any means, but have been playing with the Cargill V-1 wax. By itself, it sucks! :undecided But if you add 15% C-3 to it, it does make a nice votive. HTH
  7. Basically any milk can be soaped. Soy milk is possible, but like i said it does stink! If you use coconut in the can, make sure it does NOT have guar gum in it. You don't wanna go there! Trust me! You can get CM Powder that is easier to incorporate into your soap. Same with Goat Milk. You could also try Oat Milk. Grind up your Oats really fine and soak them in your water. Strain well and use that as your soaping liquid. Gives it kinda a silky feeling so to speak.
  8. I have! Freeze it into cubes like you would for regular milk. Remember, it doesn't contain as much fat as animal milks, so you would have to compensate for that. Normally what i do is, freeze the cubes. Weight out what i need. My normal lye is 4%, but when I use a veggie milk, I make it 5%. FYI: IT stinks WORSE than soaping animal milks!
  9. 1% total weight not including the scrubbies. So whatever the weight is of the oils/butters and the FBB itself. I use LiquaPar Optima.
  10. I haven't seen yours come through there. I will check and find out what's up. Helps being a Mod there!
  11. Soybean is awesome for your skin. Either in soap or in lotions. IMHO though I prefer to keep it under 20% of my soap recipe when i use it. It can make for a softer bar and seems to be more prone to DOS.
  12. I like the wax in the fact that I can get it locally and don't have to pay shipping. That's a big plus. What I don't like about it alone is that alien brain look after burning. I want a nice smooth top like you get with J223. I don't have any 100% soy wax (that I can remember) so I will start testing it with some beeswax to see if i like it better that way. I don't color any of my candles either. They are just the natural waxes and whatever the FO lends to it. I have been playing with HTP wicks. Do they work well with this type of wax or would i be better off with a different wick?
  13. The only thing i could see it being good for is to coat the cuticle to hold in moisture. IMHO, I would sub that out with a nice veggie oil.
  14. Do you add anything to this wax? I have tried adding some J-50 and it works nicely, but was wondering if adding beeswax would give me the same effect? Thanks!
  15. Thanks! This is all still pretty new to me. I've been playing with wax and wicks for about a year now. Just for my own use basically. Sometimes I give away candles to family members too. Can't seem to get it the way I want and when i do, I go and find a new wax to play with:rolleyes2
  16. peeled grapes raisins a wick tab a blob of hot glue already melted but cool.
  17. You can get sunflower as well at the Walmart in Punsxy! As for Palm, I haven't found it either.. when/IF i do, I'll let ya know! As for Philly, lemme check with a friend of mine that lives there. She gets all kinds of oils from someplace out there!
  18. Nope.. sorry... The general publis will presume it will HEAL it. Soother is a good word to use in a title. These are guidelines for the US. Not necessarily Canada.
  19. Sorry Julia... What i did was went through BCN's site and compared the same container size for an HTP 105 with the other wicks to see what was comparable.
  20. You can't use healing. It makes it a drug and a whole new ballgame.
  21. These are pretty close. RRD47 LX20 CD12/14 51Z ECO14 PER120/140
  22. I have Ginger Souffle from SW. Ginger Essence from SC. Think I'm gonna have to blend this myself! I'm not even sure what it is to smell like. Have a wholesale acct that wants GINGER FIG anything! Once I smell it, then i may be able to duplicate it.
  23. Who has the best? I prefer it for candles, soap & body if at all possible. If no one has it, then who has the best Ginger FO? I will blend my own!
