  1. I don't normally mess much with MP, however, I got a cute mold that I would like to make some kids soaps with. I need: 1. a good red color & yellow color 2. how much FO per pound 3. How much color per pound 4. What colors don't bleed Any other help is greatly appreciated. If they turn out good, I promise to post pics!
  2. Yucky, how? Wouldn't you put it up the same way you would a reg soap to dry?
  3. If you post the recipe, we can help. You may not even need it and can increase some of the other ingredients. Depending on how much Natrasorb you need, you could probably sub with the cornstarch.
  4. I agree with Abbie on the Ancient Incense. Others from MW I would choose would be all of them!
  5. AFAIK it's all inclusive.however you may want to take some extra if you are staying the weekend. Last year, some of us went up to the casino and out to dinner Saturday night. And breakfast, Sunday morning before we left.
  6. If you want any sniffy samples from MW, let me know. I have every FO from them except Gypsy Rose:rolleyes2
  7. Woohoo!! I haven't seen you in quite some time. You will have fun...
  8. 70% Olive 15% Coconut 10% SAO 5% Castor Run that through a lye calc and see if you like it. With it being that high in OO, it could be more $$ to make and take alot longer to cure if you use full water. My advice: If you haven't ever made CP soap, make 100% OO. That will show you how it behaves without rushing you. You will have PLENTY of time. Make a small 2# batch. The best way to find out if you like something is to try it. But most of all HAVE FUN!!!!
  9. Moonworks NG Bert Millcreek Tennessee All of the above have some nice oils. Just depends on what you want them for and who has the best one. IMHO, I LOVE MOONWORKS. I got addicted to them at the PA Gathering last year. NG would be my second choice for FOs. If you are looking for sniffies of any MW, lemme know. I can hook you up!
  10. I need to know what type of questions to ask testers of new products. ATM, specifically solid bubble bath. 1. How long do the bubbles last? 2. Did it make your tub slippery? 3. Was the scent strong enough/too strong/too light? 4. Need another question 5. Need another question 6. Overall opinion 7. What would you change.
  11. And don't forget the Saturday night happenings!!! You DON'T want to miss that:yay:!!!
  12. Wondering if anyone will be doing Citric again this year? Has anyone heard from Jurnalynn?

  14. I didn't see an ingredient list. The only thing that would worry me would be there is something in it that could make surfaces slippery. Maybe email them and ask for it. There are recipes there for room sprays so apparently it can be used for that. I've never tried it though.
  15. Can't honestly tell you. I googled for it. Lemme see if I can find it again. ETA: I now found these ingredients! Listed ingredients: Glycerin,Sucrose, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate,Polysorbate 20,Silica,Fragrance,Simmondsia Chinensis Jojoba Seed Oil,Panthenol,Tocopheryl Acetate,Citric Acid,Disodium EDTA,DMDM Hydantoin,Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate,May contain: Blue 1, Red 33, Red 40, Violet 2, Yellow 5 or Yellow 6 ; 16 oz. http://www.climatejournal.org/item025013.htm Unsure what the others are now!
  16. You could add some SLSa or another surf to make it foam, but IMHO you would also have to add a preservative.
  17. You could make it without the Crisco. You could sub Lard or Palm for it, but it would change the properties. You could also take the 25% Crisco and add it to your Olive, but it could be soft for awhile. My skin can't take that much coconut. It dries me out something bad, no matter what else is in the recipe. Good Luck and have fun!
  18. Ingredients Granulated Cane Sugar Jojoba Seed Oil Vitamin E Colorings Shouldn't be difficult to duplicate. Just try it.
  19. This site is a wealth of info. However, when it comes to preservatives, IMHO NOTHING is natural. But to someone else, because it doesn't have parabens, they MAY consider it natural. To answer your ??s 1. What types of coloring will work best in body butters? Dependent on the other ingredients in your product you will choose either oil soluble or water soluble colorants. Also make sure they are SKIN SAFE. I don't color. It's one less thing I have to remember! And at what point in the process would I add the colorant? Most likely with the FO 2. What is the standard ratio of butters to carrier oils in body butters? I made a small batch with 3oz of cocoa butter to 1oz of sweet almond oil. Whatever YOU are happy with. What I like someone else may hate. 3. Preserving - is polysorbate a preservative? What is the best natural way to preserve aside from extracts? Polysorbate is NOT a preservative. IMHO there is no such thing as a "natural" preservative. 4. What natural products can be used to preserve for longer periods of time if, I am going to sale my products in a retail store? IME there aren't any. If you are intending on making this product now for retail in say a couple of months, go with a premade base. I have been looking at the TK website and their colors..love them! I just don't know what color to use for what. lol TKB has links you can click on to find out if that particular color is skin safe. HTH
