  1. Very adorable... hope you aren't "Shell-Fish" (slaps knee), and keep it for yourself.
  2. I ordered a scale and some wicks... $9.00 shipping. Oh well... hope it gets here soon!
  3. I was just stating that I posted the same question awhile ago. The fact that I was ridiculed had nothing to do with the question that I asked anyway. The search function is a wonderful thing! I'm glad to see you have been around for some time. Without devoted members, the site wouldn't exist, and we all appreciate your support. Friends are a great thing as well. I have had the chance to become acquainted with quite a few people as well. YAY FOR ONLINE FRIENDS!
  4. For real... it's like... "Why do people rob banks?" "Cuz that's where the money is!"
  5. OH MY... I could imagine seeing a tub full of red or yellow. Heaven forbid you got of the tub to answer the door, have your neighbor or friends come over, use the potty and see a full tub of "pee" or "blood." I'd imagine it is typical to have purple for lavender or blues for oceany scents... but peach, kiwi, or my favorite Aubergine:tongue2: would be nice. Maybe even a salmon color.
  6. I picked up a regular pour pot at Pat Catan's... $15.95 BLAH:angry2:. I needed to do a larger batch, so it was quicker than waiting for it to be shipped. I did however pick up 3 coffee carafes today at Prince of Peace for $1.00 each. I am guessing that I should be able to do a 2 lb batch in each pot. Now if only Goodwill would follow suit with their pricing.
  7. Those are absolutely great! I am dying to try out the palm wax... I think it looks great texturally, and would be a hit.
  8. Stella... you are too great for words... I just wanna dip you in a glue pot and stick you on my keychain! LMAO!
  9. Very insightful! I have noticed the gooey stuff on a few retail candles I've gotten in the past. I'm guessing it is silicone as well. Off to the auto supply I go... I need tranny fluid anyway! Score one for Stella!
  10. We've been using regular hot glue to glue the wicktabs down to the jars, but occasionally, when tugging them up before the pour, 1 or 2 pop, and we have to re-glue them. I was thinking about glue dots for, but not sure how good they work. Another thing that has me puzzled, even with the container demo on the old board... they suggest you heat your jars in the oven... but wouldn't that melt the glue? I'd try the silicone... but wonder if it would somehow leak into the poured wax causing some fumes?
  11. How much is the sealer Stella? And how many candles do you typically get out of a bottle/tubey?
  12. I believe the "triple-scent" refers to the industry standard of %. Cheap-o Candles - 3% FO Standard - 6-6.25% FO Triple - 9% The 9% can be achieved with additives (I've read), although, most suppliers of FO (the good ones at least) will tell you that the standard 6ish% or 1oz per pound is a good threshold for pouring.
  13. I'd offer a merchandise credit, not an actual cash refund. If they return to you for another order, they may purchase more than the value of the loss. I'd explain that all the items were there. Was the package damaged when she got it in the mail?
  14. TEST TEST TEST.... Also, try searching the old posts for tips and hits!
  15. I just got a TON of Easter grass at Chinamart for $.10 a bag. You can use it for everything.... especially when you cut your hair too short!
  16. It was just a general question thats why I posted it here, and I hadn't realized there was a specific area for veggie candles. And til Stella pointed it out, I didn't know there was a specific UA for soy. All the suppliers I have looked at said it regular UA could be used in any wax application. Ya learn something new everyday!
  17. I had to read that like 5 times... I thought it said Surf & Turf... as in you were having a fish fry!
  18. Very well represented! Congrats! Hope you made lots of monies!
  19. That definitely would work... but without a handle, I'd have to wear oven mitts, and I'd be afraid to drop the can. HAHA:cheesy2:
  20. I didn't know there was a special one just for soy. Where do you get yours? P.S. Stella... you're a peach!
