  1. Hey that's great and that's the first step in getting your name out there.
  2. Can you make tarts from your leftover container wax? Do you have to add anything to it? I poured a few containers last night and had a bit left over and no where to put it so put it in a tart mold. :undecided Thanks for any help.
  3. What all do you consider to be "clean" scents? What does Peaks carry that is "clean"? I already have clean cotton and want to try others.
  4. When testing your container candles do you first just test them yourself for burn and then have someone test for the scent? (by saying testing for scent I'm just wondering if you have someone test for the scent because of candle nose). How many testers do you have?
  5. Which is better, liquid dye or chips? Or is it just personal preference? Also does one colour give brighter results or would that be attributed to the type of wax you use? TIA
  6. Sherri, May I ask where you got the 34-40 wick from?
  7. sorry should have clarified. IGI 1286 in 10 oz apothecary, double wicked.
  8. It seems to me that when I burn my candles, near the bottom there isn't much scent. Why is this? Is it the F/O not mixing enough before I pour?
  9. Is there a website for these wicks? TIA
  10. The only reason I asked was because I had thought at one time that someone had said they double wick theirs and I was thinking a single wick would be fine so that's why I wasn't sure where to start.
  11. Hey thanks for all your replies! I am going to be trying IGI 1286 and IGI 4786.
  12. For anyone that does these do you single wick or double wick them? I have a few that I want to test and have no idea on a starting point. :undecided Any help or suggestions? TIA
  13. Looks like you have no choice but to do candles again!!
  14. bumping to see if anyone can help. TIA
  15. Does it matter how close you double wick? I am using a 16 oz apothecary jar and have spaced them about 1 - 1/2 inch's apart (using the EZ wick setter) and it doesn't seem to be getting as good of a melt pool as when I put them closer together (just eyeballing on my own). Does this make sense? I'm using 2 44z wicks.
  16. Exactly how does paypal work? Are there any fees?
  17. 44 zinc here. I've only tested one so far (have a few more poured and ready to test) and so far it is going good with the 44z. HTH
  18. Do you mean I wouldn't necessarily have to heat the jars before pouring, just insulate well after pouring? Can you wick your jars and then heat with the heat gun? Sorry for all the stupid questions but I want to make sure I get it right. :embarasse Sometime in the future (depends on how my candles sell when I do start selling) I am going to get a stove for my room. I just bought a hotplate for $30 and then seen in a classified ad a stove for $30. Kicking my a$$ since I already used the hotplate and can't take it back.
  19. My husband emptied out a room in our basement that is now "my candle room". The only problem is it's too cool in there. I would like to get a portable heater. I poured some containers yesterday and they have what kind of looks like frost on the sides of them. I'm assuming this is because of the temp of the room. I don't have an oven downstairs to warm my jars in so what should I do? :undecided I don't really want to run upstairs to warm the jars but if I have to I will. Would a heat gun work for this or would I be better off using the oven? Would the containers cool down too much by the time I got downstairs to pour them? Should I get everything ready down here and then pour upstairs? Anyone have any opinions or suggestions? TIA
  20. Great! I will post how it goes! thanks.
  21. Thank you very much candlesprite. I appreciate your reply and will try it on the weekend when I pour cinnamon buns.
  22. What colour do you use for cinnamon buns? I was looking at the colour ideas and it says brownish yellow but I would like to know how many chips of each colour? I can never get it to be anything but brown. Thanks
