1. Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it.
2. This comes from MichelleB's Shortening and Shea Sudsy Soap Recipe. I had originally posted in the recipes but no one answered so hoping some one can help me. Originally Posted by michelleB I Superfat: I did a 4.5% superfat on this recipe because I used full Goat Milk as the flluid and didn't want the extra fat from the milk to interfere with my suds negatively. Not sure if I read this right but do you have to freeze the goat's milk? If so, why?

4. Thanks for all your kind words. Can't wait to do another batch!!!
5. When it cures will it harden up some? Will it lather more after it cures? I want to make more this weekend for christmas gifts for my mom, mil and sil and wondered if I should use this recipe again. Thanks again for all your help!
6. Are there any instructions on how to make them? What size to make them etc.? Anywhere to buy them? If you use a shoe box etc for a mold, how can you tell how much soap the mold will hold? I just used an ice cube container that I got at the dollar store and guessed whether or not it would be big enough and after I filled it I had some left over.
7. When I opened the package of photo copier paper the wrap that it comes in reminded me of freezer paper so thought to myself "wonder if that will work". You can tell I'm getting addicted when I'm thinking of soap all the time now. I may just give the package paper a try in a small mold just to see if it works.
8. I've unmolded and cut my soap. Now what do I do? lol. Let's see if I have it right. I've read so much in the last couple of days that my head is spinning. I have to let it cure for a few weeks, correct? It's still fairly soft right now so letting it cure will harden it. I've put my tongue to it and don't think I got zapped (you'd know it right?) Tastes just like soap. Feels creamy but doesn't have a lot of lather. Will this come as it cures? Anything else I need to know? Now I want to skip work tomorrow and make more soap. :tiptoe:
9. Thanks! It's scented Sweet Pea (Peak's). I used Crafty1_AJ's beginner recipe. Can't wait to try another scent. I'm hooked!
10. Hoping my pic works. ETA: Yeah the pic worked. I think it turned out ok for my first try at it. My swirl isn't the greatest.
11. Where do you buy freezer paper? I realize butcher shops have it but don't know if they sell to anyone, lol. I just opened a package of photocopier paper here at work and the inside of the package is glossy (kind of like freezer paper). This may be a really stupid questiong but would something like this work? :embarasse
12. Next time I will definitely go by weight. Thanks again for helping this newbie. Can't wait til tomorrow. I'm as excited as a kid on Christmas Eve.
13. Thanks e. I couldn't have done it without all the pros input on this board!
14. Thanks for your reply e! I will write that down in my notes.
15. How much FO do you put in CP soap? I wasn't sure how much to use so I used about 2 tablespoons of Peak's Sweet Pea in a 2 lb patch.
16. After asking questions and saying (like a year or more ago, :embarasse ) I was going to make some soap I finally did it. I made my first batch of CP soap today using Crafty's beginner recipe. It's in the mold now what do I do? I peeked a few minutes ago and it's in the gel phase I believe. When it is hardened do I unmold it and cut it (tomorrow sometime....I finished making it at about 3:15 p.m. today)? What do I need to look for in the soap (as far as testing it etc)? If I am correct once it's hardened I need to do the zap test. Will the strips you use for testing pools/hot tubs work (if I don't want to use the tongue method) Anything else I may be missing/forgetting about? Thanks
17. Things you will need: 1. Patience...for all that testing. 2. $$$$$$$$$$$ Don't know what else you will need but wanted to welcome you to the board!
18. That's exactly what I'm thinking and I'm not being rude.
19. I use zinc and would start with 2 44's. I would think the 60's would be too big but I don't know.
20. Thanks Sherri, that's the one I was looking for!
21. I am looking for a girl from Ontario, Canada who does labels out of her home (she has a website) but I cannot remember the name for the life of me. Can anyone help me???
22. Farting around lit candles may pose a threat to your cat's fur so be careful cybersix!!
23. Thanks for your tips. I didn't know if you could strain it or not but now I will try it.
24. I was melting some wax today and noticed it had some dirt flecks in it (guess I forgot to cover the wax when I stored it). :embarasse Is there a way to get this out of it?
25. Ditto what the others said. Wash down the walls etc. And congratulations on quitting smoking. :highfive:
