  1. Great candles. You did a very good job. I have seen some in the craft store kinda like how you did the Boo. They had used the black and made a spider web all over the candle and also made a couple of spiders. (looked really cool) My guess is that they melted the wax and somehow wrote with it onto the candle. The spiders and web felt and looked like wax. Got me thinking though, how easy that would be to do. Well, maybe not so much the writting with wax part.
  2. Ok, I re-melted the first heart and the second one came out perfect! I did heat up the mold before pouring the wax, so I don't know if that is what fixed the problem or not. Thanks for all the advice I was given. I also added some more dye to this second one, as I wanted a darker color. I know you can't see much of the detail with this photo, but I do love the effect of this wax.
  3. Good job. Wish I could get the hang of that technique...of course it helps if I try it more. :rolleyes2
  4. That is really cool. Love the shape. Great job.
  5. Great job on the pillars, even if they aren't recent. They motivated me.
  6. the leaves are just the artificial material. Got them at the dollar store i think.
  7. Very beautiful and great colors. I do not have the wild raspberry scent. Might have to order that one as I love the smell of raspberry.
  8. I like them too. You did a good job.
  9. The mold was room temperature. I have used this wax before and haven't heated the mold with no problems. I poured it between 165-170. I made some votives with the leftover wax and those came out fine. I guess I will try heating up the mold before I pour the next one. Thanks for all the help.
  10. Thanks Sherie i think is just what i needed.
  11. thanks for the hints. I mixed up the fo pretty good before pouring, so i don't think that is the reason. hmm....guess i will remelt and try again.
  12. Ok, here is another candle that was supposed to be a part of the wedding gift basket I am trying real hard to put together. I made this with Astorlite F with no additives other than the color and fragerance. (which is cinnamon) I am guessing that there must have been something in the bottom of the mold to make the top look the way it does. I have only used this mold twice and i thought it was clean. I don't use mold release and didn't put anything in the mold prior to pouring. The sides came out like they were supposed to so I am a little baffled. Can anyone shed any light as to what might have happened. TIA.
  13. Hello. Does anyone know where I can get some eye droppers for the 1oz fragerance bottles from Peaks? I have been looking on every candle website that I have bookmarked but have had no luck. I know that I can get them from JoAnns. I would like to have one for each scent so I would need about 20 right now. I was hopeing to find a place to buy them for cheaper than what I would have to pay at JoAnns. TIA
  14. Thank you all. Yes, I did glue the leaves on.
  15. Ok, here is my version of the flower petals on a goblet that I have seen others do in the past. This candle was made to go in a gift basket for a wedding next month. However, if I find out that the bride does not like autumn, then this will be a gift to an aunt who I know loves the fall season. It is scented Amish Harvest and it's kind of a burnt orange or pumpkin color. I know you can't really see the candle it self too well. I have included two different views of the leaves.
  16. Very nice!! Love the colors. I have yet to try that technique, but would like to some day.
  17. Thank you candlescents for posting the link. I tried to find it on my own, but had no luck.
  18. Very beautiful. You are very talented. And being a photographer i am in awe of the quality of the first two photos. Great job on everything.
  19. great job. I love the color comination. very cool technique.
  20. Very nice. I am tempted to try that technique now. Is there a thread or link on how to do it?
  21. I agree, they look like a beautiful landscape. Great job. I am a little curious as to the technique you used, if you don't mind sharing it that is.
  22. Great job on them all. I especially like the square marble. I have only attempted that technique once and it didn't work. I am now inspired to try it again. Thank you for the inspiration.
  23. Thanks Garf. That is a lot lighter. I didn't even think to do that. duh. You can really see how crappy the quality of the photo is now. lol I will have a better camera some day.
  24. You did a wonderful job on those. They are both very beautiful. I love the colors you chose for each one.
  25. Thank you all. The second one is a dark purple. The lighting was not the best when i took the photo. It does look better in person, though.
