  1. However... (to continue from euginia's post) if you want a dark chocolate color becareful you don't over do or you'' have chocolate milk lather. don't bother asking me how I know.
  2. I tryed it... I used clarified butter... ummm... wound up tossing it. Besides the smell, which was fadeing slowly... it just wasn't a nice soap.
  3. Such vibrant colors and those swirls! Beautiful. If i had to pick on it would be the Coconut Vanilla... the swirls are just so... I just love them.
  4. No problem. You were probabaly looking to hard... like when you're tearing the house apart looking for your keys and the kid picks them up off the table to hand to you...
  5. Thank you Meridith. I always feel like you’re teasing me a bit when you say that, when one of my goals is to make swirls like yours. Well, my salt bar may not be as pretty as yours but at least it has a similar smooth texture like yours. I’ll be happy with that! Quiet girl, have you read this thread? http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=59497 . Scroll down to Crafty’s and MarieJeanette’s posts for some really good advice. And be prepared for the smell so you don’t panic. This batch gave me fits all around. I put it in the refrigerator and it still started to gel… so I stuck it in the oven and it stopped gelling. My next attempt with milk I’m going to freeze the mold a few hours before I start and pack it with ice packs after I pour. I’m hoping that will keep it cool enough so I can get the lovely creamy color. I thought of putting it in the freezer but our freezer freezes a 3 lb roast solid in 2 hours. I’m afraid it will freeze the soap and it won’t Saponify properly. Either that or it will get so hot it thaws the food in there, LOL. Thank you everyone for your kind words…
  6. See! I TOLD you those first ones were ugly! LMAO! No, haven’t tried the new bars… I only poured them about 8 hours ago, so I figure… at least a week? LOL. As for your turquoise water… I rather enjoyed it after I got over my surprise. I pretended I was soaking in a blue lagoon in the Bahamas. And, yes I have had ash. The seaside soap… I peeked and let in cold air and CO2… I’m learning self control, it’s not easy… but I’m learning.
  7. Wow you two are fast! I had trouble getting them to attach, guess I'm tired. It's done now, as you can see.
  8. In the first picture is the salt bar I made last month is on the left and the ones I made today on the right. The new bar is MUCH prettier! Together you can see how rough the old bar is, and how dirty looking. In the salt the kelp turned light in some areas after about 3 weeks, so I expect the new bar will have the same happen. That’s ok, I think it will still be pretty. The new bars have only been sliced and trimmed, not cleaned up yet. Next is “Goats in the Garden”. I had the goat’s milk for a week trying to figure out what to do with it. I was out in the herb garden weeding and had picked a tranquility bouquet (sage, rosemary, parsley, lemon balm, and wild mint) when I heard my Mother’s voice say “goat’s in the garden”, something she would yell when the neighbors pygmy goat would visit and munch her garden. So, of course, the bouquet went in the soap and it was named. If you look closely you can see along the edges where it didn’t finish gelling properly around the corners. For all the fits it gave me I like it. It smells wonderful, and so soft on the skin. I am beginning to understand why so many of you love milk soaps.
  9. I found this recipe... http://www.awbsupplies.com/recipes.htm . Scroll down to Red Palm Butter Soap. "IF your soap calc does not list Red Palm Butter you can calculate the lye by adding palm oil at the red palm butter percent. Their sap is the same. "
  10. Oh yes! deffinatly zen going on here. I love the look you got, the way the layers sort of flow into each other. It is so tranquil.
  11. Hey! Nice loking soaps and nice looking watermark!
  12. OH! Your Lotus Blossom smells SO good! oh... that's right, I already have some of those coming... ok, cancel that one.. for now... BTW I haven't told Bev I ordered them, she's going to be so surprised!
  13. I will take a Tequila Lime Margarita. And a Raspberry Guava. And even though I don't see anything in the last... you can send me one of them too...
  14. I hope you know you just ruined my diet. Saw that and had to run to the kitchen and make a dessert... whipped cream, sour cream, and creamed cheese with finely shredded coconut and the pineapple I've been trying to figure out what to do with all week... If your soap smells half as good as the dessert tastes...
  15. I love how dark you got it, and the frosted look! Beautiful soaps and beautiful presentation.
  16. The orange is the same color the canned goat's milk I froze turned! LOL. Mine has turned out looking a lot like the carmel. Not the creamy bar I imagined but I tested it yesterday and boy does it feel good on the skin, so I know how good your's are going to feel!
  17. WOW! Fantastic swirls! How did you get the square swirl??????????????
  18. If you want a digital watermark you will need an editor that supports it. If you want a visible watermark (as seen here) it’s simple enough. I use Ulead PhotoImpact. Select and create your text. In text attributes select outline. I like to use a light grey color and set transparency to 40. Use the transform tool to set the angle if desired. Nice looking soap! Good luck.
  19. I have to agree with everyone else. Great packageing!
  20. Hey, Those are some nice swirls! Good job.
  21. YAY! It works! Love your presentation BTW.
  22. I see a flying cockatoo in the lower second from left soap. Love the colors... as always beautiful and inspireing.
  23. Those are lovely! M&P is so hard to swirl, you have some major talent.
