  1. Beautiful.... I just made my first batch... i hope it looks half as good as yours (no, I'm not peeking).
  2. Thank you all for your replies. I feel a lot better now... may actually start actually buying supplies and equipment this week. I cant use the vinyl (platex) gloveseither. If I start reacting to the nitrile I guess I will have to give up on the idea of makeing soap. Or maybe I can try just slathering my hands in lard and if any lye splashes on them it will make soap and I can just wash my hands? That's a joke... just laugh... no need to explain to me it wouldnt really work...
  3. I may have missed this; I have been reading and searching for an answer, so if I’m covering old material I’m sorry. I’m almost ready to try and make soap… but due to sensitivities I can’t use either latex or rubber gloves. Does anyone here use, or have tried nitrile gloves? I found one site that says it is good for use with lye, but at another place on the same page says to not use them with strong acids or alkilines. Are they safe or not?
  4. Wow! Beautiful soap! And your photo is just fantastic! Maybe you can help me learn how to take a decent picture! As for the text… sorry but as long as you are using Paint it will be guess work in centering it. The best advice I could give is to try Paintshop’s free version (do they still have a free version? Anyone know?) Or better yet invest in PhotoImpact. I’m a dedicated PhotoImpact user, have been for years, very user friendly. All you have to do it select the object (in this case the text) right click, scroll to align, and select the position you want. You might try looking at the used book stores; many have started carrying previously used software. It will be a good investment, your elegant soap and dramatic photographic skills deserve to be finished to its full potential. GrandmaArial
