The last one you posted is good, but I still think the tag line and web addy should be in a boring font like Arial Narrow. It will put more focus on the logo and let the scent stand out. Right now all the fonts are competing.
I do like the box around the scent, the last color was a bit bright, but if it is on a candle that color (or close) it will not jump out as much.
Dat
I agree.

Greenleaf the supplier sells candles, etc. on their other site www.nothingbutcandles.com.
ETA: islandgirl beat me by a minute, lol

Ok, I have a name idea that has to do with stories rather than theater. What if you call your business "Once Upon..." Your products can be labeled this way:
Once Upon ... a candle
Once Upon ... a lather (soaps)
Once Upon ... a shower
Once Upon ... a bath
I was thinking of a logo with an ornate "O" just like in storybooks. It could also be written as
Once
upon
...
with the ellipsis underneath the word "upon" rather than beside it.

Some quick basic revision then' date=' its 1oz (weight) to 1lb (500grams-ish) of wax.
Do you have little bowls or summat to put on your scales for your fo?
A pair of scales, thats all it is, why then am I grinning so much? [/quote']
Yup, it's usually 1 oz FO to 1 lb wax.
You might want to protect your scale with a plastic sheet because drops of FO may damage the scale's surface.

My faaaavorite of all of them is the one with the leaf.

Those cupcakes look good enough to eat!

How about just Stage?

I really like your logo although I see what your concern is about the flower. Maybe make it softer looking?

Chele,
I ordered trays from Crate and Barrel a while back and one of them was cracked. I called and they said they'd send me a new one but didn't require me to send them the damaged one.
You went way out of your way to keep the customer happy. I guess he just wanted to try to get away with it, thinking that you wouldn't bother taking back a damaged product. I would do exactly as you did though.

Sabrina, if everything else is perfect, I would leave it. Mushrooms don't bother me that much -- umbrellas do.

Well, this one cured for a week before testing....should I really wait longer?
One other thing I'm unsure of is how much FO I can actually use without using too much. The lady I bought them from on ebay was cleaning out her supplies and she "said" she had bought these from places like C&S, BC, etc. How would I know how much is too much without exactly know where the FO came from?
IMO, a week is too long to wait. I would rather not carry an FO that doesn't throw after a day or two. But that's just me. Others are willing to wait two weeks.
Without knowing where the FO came from, I think you're ok with your 6% load, but you might be able to go up to 8%. There are other companies with more potent FO's that need half that much, but these oils are more expensive.
-
So if it is edible, do they use Flavor oil instead of FO? Can't imagine someone making that claim, are they crazy???????
They say it's edible before the addition of FO and/or dye. Like Top said, it's the same as Crisco -- not good to eat since they're trans fats.

Haven't posted in the gallery in awhile! These are nothing special. Green/White is cucumber melon and the Blk/White is white tea. Sorry for the $hitty photography :embarasse ~TFL

Some of us warm the glasses with the heat gun, others warm them in the oven. Still others do nothing because they can't seem to get rid of them.

hi there and happy easter
another question for the experts out there
when i have tried making candles in glass jars, they either seem to have what looks to be an extra layer of wax (erm its hard to describe) so bear with me, it looks like a layer half way and also it seems to sometimes pull away from the sides of the glass
help:embarasse
I'm guessing these are wet spots.

I have been having problems with wicks not burning i have used several different wicks but they burn at first then they won't stay lit sometimes they won't even relight i use soy wax and sometimes parrifin and it's the same any ideas why this could be happening
We would need more info.
What wicks have you tried?
Which wax?
Diameter of container/ pillar?
-
Sorry, no help with your question but just wanted to say that I LOVE your pillar! And Creme Brulee is my favorite scent.

I have been looking into the kits. Cajun has a good kit, but peaks kit comes with alot of stuff, alot more than the basic kit from cajun. These are the two sites I have been looking at (cajun and peaks)...I don't understand the wax types at peaks. I know most kits come with paraffin wax which I have read that most people do not like. Do you have to do anything different if you mix the waxes? (melting procedure etc)..who has the best fragrances? (if that is a secret I will understand)..
thanks again.
Green Leaf Candle Supply has a kit with their 70/30 soy blend. I wouldn't suggest that you blend your own wax at this point, since you're a beginner.
Which wax to use is a matter of preference.
As for FO's, you would have to test which ones work in your wax.
Like Candlebuddy suggested, you should go with a wax supplier close to you to save on shipping costs.
-
VERY pretty! They look really spring-y.
How to tell which wax a supplier carries?

I don't think the manufacturers would give you that info either, especially if the wax has been renamed. Your best bet may be to post here to find out if the wax you're testing has other aliases.
