Who is Jeff?
Jeff is itsmejeffd. He makes HDPE molds as well, one of which I have and I'm enjoying immensely.
Here's the link to his thread from the B&B gallery:

Wow! So MANY suppliers! Thanks for the link.

Bren,
I'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but RRD wicks have a directional flow, meaning there is a right side up to them.

That's a really pretty sign!

LOL, I got you all drooling!! Everytime I walk in my huge basement (craft shop), I smell this soap. I just love bakery scents in everything. Tlhanks for all the compliments.
I LOVE bakery scents in everything too! I have made 3 batches of soap so far and they are all bakery-scented. Your soap looks yummy!

Been using my Darice embossing gun from JoAnn's for almost 3 years now. I got it for $12 with a 40% off coupon.

Very beautiful!!!!

Yup, we date our candles but we use a code because we'd rather not put the date as mm/dd/yy. In our production log, we list what candles were made that day, as well as what the temperature and humidity readings were. We stamp the code on the warning label.

I do like Carrie for a black swirl, or sometimes even use activated charcoal
Which Carrie?

Heehee. Guilty of PM'ing e.

And I bet the other supplier's product won't be as good.

Once the surface of the wax has hardened a bit, I poke 4 relief holes around the wick pin. I do my repour once the candle has completely cooled.

I agree with many others here -- no need for ribbons.

I have a friend who is currently building me a free web site which is really nice but as its free it takes a while as its in his spare time. So i was wondering if you guys could recommend one of these trial ones which i could use for free whilst the proper one is being finished! Just so that i can use it almost like a newsletter and email a link to my customers with special offers and shows which i'll be attending that sort of thing so nothing too complicated but something really easy to use, i tried one before and after a week was practically bold i'd pulled my hair out so much!!!
Any suggestion would be great TIA!!
Instead of having a temporary site, I think it would be better to have your actual site up and running ASAP. I would rather pay someone to get it done sooner than have it free and not get it done in a timely manner. Another problem with having it done for free is if you want things changed after it's done, that could take a while as well.

I have always wanted to experiment with polymer clay. Your stuff looks DIVINE! I realize that you're new to this board, so when you are able to PM, please PM me your web addy.
-
You could do both & see which one people like the best then go for that.
They both look good to me.
Sally.
I agree.

Thanks !
So have you gotten any closer to taking the plunge yet?
Funny you should ask. I made my FIRST batch of CP soap today but I'm not sure how it turned out. Will check tomorrow. If you don't hear from me, you'll know why.

Yup, Robert and Steph are the BEST!

Beautiful soaps, MaryAnn! I can almost smell the green one.

I haven't used commercial soap since 2001. I have always, always wanted to make my own soap but have never been brave enough to do so until NOW! Looking forward to making my first batch in a few weeks (still researching, lol). Like many of you, I don't use hotel soap either.

Oh, I see. I think your correct in not doing refills. I reuse containers for my own personal testing but I don't re-use the containers from customers.
We do the same. Some of them give back the containers so that we could reuse them for our testing.

Ok, just read a post about using words like originals, creations etc, and are associated with start up companies trying to make a mark
I am thinking K.D. essentials is in that category
Here is another avenue--haven't even checked availability yet , just thinking again
Nature Works
Homemade Soaps and Scents
I feel that if you have the word "homemade" in your tag line, you would be considered start up as well.

Thanks, kandlekrazy and KMommy! We have some customers who ask us if we can refill the glasses for them but we don't do refills. We figured we could tell them they can reuse the glasses for drinking as long as they've been cleaned really well. Just wanted to make sure.

Is it safe to reuse candle glass for drinking once it's been cleaned out really well?
