  1. I use nothing but soy and my firestarters work beautifully for them. Never had a problem with them not burning
  2. Thanks that gives me an idea on how much I am going to sell them for
  3. 1 oz portion cup melts am doing a bunch of shows this year and I am tring to figure out what I am going to sell these for Thanks
  4. Boy are they kidding. They must be grabbing at straws or there taking a hit because of all the great handmade melts there are out there. People are finding out that many handmade melts are much better than theres and cheaper
  5. I make the 2oz cups and what I do for a show is I figure out how may scents I am going to take Then I put each scent into it's own basket. They all ways pick up my cups open and smell them. (Heck they do it with my clamshells also) I don't take samples cause they never use the samples (go figure) I gave up on samples along time ago They just don't work for me except If I am selling B&B items
  6. I to was wondering were to purchase the sticks from Natures Garden doesn't carry them any more
  7. I use cello bags or shrink wrap single ones
  8. I sell both colored and uncolored melts. I myself liked the uncolored But a lot of my customers order colored. So I give them the choice. They both sell well for me
  9. Now I wish there was a LX 15 wick. I tried the 16 and it's to big I will have to try the 14 and see how that one is. Hopefully it works out good. But I bet If there was a 15 it would be perfect LOL
  10. I was so pissed I was going to give up on tring to make 2 oz tins. Well I started a thread about it and some of you came into my thread and told me not to give up and gave me some ideas on how I may try to get them going. I want to say Thank You to those who helped me. I decided to go with paraffin wax with all the additives all ready in there. Well I have a tin burning right now and it smells wonderful. I finally did it YAY I am so glad I didn't give up. Now I am gonna have fun testing all the scents I want to do these candles in. Thanks again everyone for the wonderful help. Now I know why I love this board so much
  11. Thanks so much everyone. Your advice has been so wonderful. I am going to start again using some of the tips from you guys. It is so nice to have someone to talk to when things get bad. I will let you all know how it goes when I am done testing.
  12. Lets backtrack a little: your bio says you're in AZ - are you running the A/C? Do you have high ceilings? have you tried burning the candles in the bathroom (small enclosed space). I ask because I'm in Phx and if I run the A/C and have a pillar burning in the living room, the return duct (or whatever it's called) sucks up the scent as it rises but if I burn in the bathroom, I can smell the throw as it's sucked out of the bathroom into the hallway toward the return duct which is in the living room. I never thought of that. I will have to put it in a smaller room and see what happens. Thanks
  13. Thanks everyone for the help. I am going to give it another try. I will try some of your ideas and see how it goes
  14. Thanks scented But I am really really frustrated. I have never had so many problems with these little buggers. I have been working for weeks tring to get the best HT from these candles and still can't get it. Right now I am switching to paraffin wax. Since soy and the para blends haven't worked for me. Does anyone know what would be a good wick starting for paraffin wax and a 2 ounce tin. I have never worked with it. But I am gonna try now. If this doesn't work I am going to give up on making these.
  15. I thought it was candle nose But I did the coffee grounds thing and leave the house and come back later. Someone told me I should try a cotton wick. Maybe I will try one more time Oh and that's great you got a wholesale account with your tins. I should be so lucky LOL
  16. I was told to use .3 grams for a 2 oz candle. But I have tried up to .8 grams But that was to much Because I got the oily tops on my candles after they sat a bit.
  17. I have used peaks, candle science, natures garden and just scent With no luck Unless I am doing something wrong I just don't know what it could be
  18. I don't know why I have been having so much trouble tring to make votives and 2 oz tins. I think I have lost my touch. I give up I have tried soy wax, 50/50 wax and paraffin wax. I have tried many wicks and different FO's No matter what I do I cannot for the life of me get them to scent up even a very small room. I make them I let them sit at least a week and nothing nada No one in my house can smell them either. I quit not going to try any more. I guess I'm not meant to make good smelly candles. Well at least my melts smell good and strong.
  19. I work really hard to keep my etsy shop nice. Except pictures need to be better. But I to have seen some really bad items. Wicks really off centered bad. flammable items embedded into the candle, chipped candles ect ect ect I have even bought candles that had a oil slick on the top of them when I got it. It's a shame some people just don't care what kind of product they sell
  20. I wonder how long the rice bran oil lasts. I was told to use mineral oil Because it doesn't go bad
  21. I am going to try to mix my EcoSoya PB with some of JS's Vot wax The vot wax is all paraffin. I have some zincs and LX's is there any other wick I could try Also what would be a good size to start out with. Oh this is for making votives.
  22. Ya I know what you mean I could use some FO's and tins LOL
