  1. Been using the Puresoy and have wanted to give the KY 125 a try for a while now. But can you tell me some of the differences between the two? Getting ready to order some wax soon and knowing would really help me alot! I live in the Panhandle of Fla. and the shipping from KY is not nearly as bad as some:shocked2: !!! Thanks Tootie! Lorraine
  2. That really is a very good question! I use alcohol on everything I'm working with, allow it to dry and then proceed. Is that okay?
  3. Thanks again Michi ! I'll check out the shrinkwrap store and Walmart ASAP!!! As for your siggie~~ Love it!!! :tiptoe: Lorraine
  4. Hi Michi~ Now I'll have to do some research on where I can get some shrink wrap bags and a heat gun real cheap! Always wanted one of those heat guns! Just don't want to push my husband over the edge with all of my buying and then storing all of this (wonderful!) stuff for my HOBBY!!! May have to stick with the saran wrap & cello till I find a real good deal I can't pass up! Lorraine
  5. Thanks DeAnna! That should work for me then too! Sure wish I could afford to shrink wrap them too. Maybe a future investment! Lorraine
  6. Thanks Candybee. So they will still dry out eventually? How long will they last in cello bags? I don't sell the soap-- it's for me, family and friends for a gift here and there. Guess I better not make up too much too far ahead of time! What about the soap base we buy from the suppliers? What is the shelf life on those bases? They are wrapped in only a thin piece of plastic wrap or in a plastic tub. Would it be better to wrap the soaps (with FO and color) in plastic wrap and then put them in cello bags? Double wrap em! What do all of you wonderful experienced MP soapers do? TIA Lorraine
  7. Gosh! I LOVE this thread!!! I would love to learn anything and EVERYTHING about melt & pour soaps! I've only just begun to play and I'm hooked already! Thanks! Lorraine
  8. Is it okay to wrap M&P soap in cello paper (the kind you use to wrap baskets) and use a piece of tape to keep it closed? Does it have to be wrapped in saran type wrap for some reason? I don't want it to dry out after time. Thanks for any help! Lorraine
  9. Danielle~ Thanks for responding! I too was wondering if NG Soy & GB415 & ezsoy & KY Puresoy were all one in the same! Don't know if we'll ever know for sure as I'm possitive this must be top secret!!! I may just give CS a try cause I love some of their FO's! Thanks~ Lorraine
  10. How does the NG soy and the BC EZ soy differ from the KY Pure soy? I think the shipping is cheaper for me from KY but BC South shouldn't be too bad either. I'm in the Florida Panhandle. Thanks~~ Lorraine
  11. So glad to hear that the SFIC Bases seem to last longer cause I just ordered some to try out! But can anyone tell me up to how much extra oils you can add per pound of base? Would it be okay to add: say 1 TBSP of castor oil AND 1 TBSP of olive oil together to 1 LB of base? OR how about adding oil and lets say beeswax or shea butter to the same pound of base? How much would you add? Also read somewher that you could use veggie stearic to harden up the base--- is that true? Hope it's okay to ask these questions on this thread! Should I have started a new one? Lorraine
  12. Just wanted to let you know that my daughter was able to get the stains out! She used a product called Greased Lightening Blast, Orange Powered, Super Strength Auto Shop Degreaser. She found this in the auto dept. at Walmart. She said that every bit of the stain came out! Wanted to post this in case it might help someone else. Think I might pick up some of this stuff to keep on hand for myself! Thanks again for your quick replys~ Lorraine
  13. Thanks so much for your suggestions. Will pass the info on to my daughter. Lorraine
  14. carpeting from spilled paraffin wax? My daughter just called me with this question and I don't have a clue so I thought I'd ask the experts! She said it was a pink candle (the dog knocked over) and that she did get all of the wax out but it left a yellow stain in several spots. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance~ Lorraine
  15. Thank you all so much for sharing the strong throwing FO's. Now I'll have to make my decision and get my order in ASAP!! Don't know how I'll decide---I may have to order one of every FO you all have suggested I know I'm being but I just can't help myself! We won't talk about how many FO's I already have :tiptoe: Lorraine
  16. What Candlescience FO's are STRONG throwers in 100% soywax? I have never tried their FO's and this would be a good time to check them out! Maybe you could recommend some strong throwing fall/winter/christmas scents and a good pumpkin for soy. Thank you in advance! Lorraine
  17. Wellington's White Chocolate is out of this world! Very STRONG hot and cold throw. However, out of ALL the FO's I purchased from them, the White Chocolate is the ONLY ONE that did throw in soy container wax!
  18. Thank you all so much for the reply's. I'm excited about trying some new FO's, and BCS' at that! First ones I ever tried were Wellington's-------don't even want to go there! Been pretty much using Aroma Haven and KY---both great places! Looking forward to some STRONG throwing scents! Lorraine :smiley2:
  19. I'll be placing an order with BCS and was wondering which FO's are a must have for 100% soy wax candles (want a STRONG hot throw) and which FO's are a must have for Aroma bead sachets and Ornies ( ones strong and long lasting in the ornies)???????????? I have so many so-so FO's and just really want to narrow it down to only the best. A person could go broke*faint* Thanks for any help, Lorraine
  20. I was thinking the same thing as Justrightcandles----won't the wax only hold just so much FO and maybe become a fire hazard? Lorraine
  21. Thanks Judivega! Talk about a quick response! Looks like a great place to start Much appreciated, Lorraine
  22. Demenshia, Your ornies are beautiful!!! Where did you get the great cookie cutter shapes? Love the shell one!!! Have done some sachets and would love to try some ornies now. Can't seem to find cookie cutters tho. Maybe I'm looking in all the wrong places :embarasse Could you tell me where you purchased them? Thanks, Lorraine
  23. I just had to tell all of you that I really needed a good laugh today! Thank you all for the good laugh I had reading these posts Lorraine
  24. Hope, that is an awsome link! Where'd you find it? Thanks for the info!! I was also told to be sure and buy the plastic bins that had the pp5 in the triangle on the bottom or the plastic may suck the fo out of the products. That's the first thing I look at when buying new plastic containers! The chart on that link really helped to put some understanding behind all of this! Lorraine
