Well let me just ask this.... is foamy or frothy a big deal as long as it doesn't have rabies???? *smacking forehead* there has been way too much coffee this morning! Seriously though, as long as the candle has a good hot throw and will burn to the bottom is the froth a big deal??? Kimberly

I have seen that with some of my soy container candles also... so I took the time one day to watch and see what was going on after I got a decent melt pool going. I believe that if you happen to stand there and watch really close (not too close though... if you have eyebrows and bangs and want to keep them:laugh2: ) You'll find that it's tiny little air bubbles that comes out of the wax as it's melting. At least that's what I saw in my candles. Kimberly

Well as someone that owns a business ... I have contacted people about wholesaling their candles in my Salon...BUT... I've only contacted them AFTER I've ordered a couple of candles and paid FULL price for them. My feeling is #1. I want to try the candles for myself before I ask about wholesaling... cause they might actually suck and I only want quality items in my salon. #2. I like being able to order what I want to try rather than have someone send me something that throws really strong for that candle and then the rest don't throw as well. #3. I don't feel as though it's the suppliers responsibilty to suck up the cost of the product just because I want to try some candles... Hopefully my supplier would be thoughtful enough once there is a wholesale account established to send me some samples every so often with my orders. Kimberly

I've been testing some wicks trying to get a FMP in my 4" jars.... I have burning for 2 days now... HTP93,104,105,126,1212, and 13something (can't remember the number). *SIGH* How freaking hard can it be to wick a jar, burn the candle and not get any black crap in the wax???? Apparently I have my answer... it's hard. I give!!!! I completely give!!!! These candles have my arm twisted behind my back and me screaming UNCLE!! These are stupid 4" apothecary jars.... It's not like I'm wicking the International Space Station! MOTHEROFGAWWWWD!!!!!! Giving birth was easier than wicking these dumb @ss jars!*faint* That's it... I'm going back to my CD's and double wicking and I'm just going to have to make a little peace with a tiny bit of black stuff in the wax... And on top of all that... I yelled at my Mother *sigh* Now I have to call her back and apologize for being a jerk.:embarasse Kimberly

I don't use ammonia because of my asthma, but I've used Dawn's dishing washing detergent with super hot water... wash really good, dry really good, take the guts out of the box they came in, lay a clean dish towel down, put back the guts of the box and then repack the glassware upside down in the box they came in. If all goes well, I never have to touch the inside of that jar again. Kimberly

So far I like both BTRCS &BTRCN equally well... I tend to deal with BTRCS more only because their site is a bit easier to get around. But I've liked most everything I've gotten from both companies. Kimberly

I don't know what my issue is... this is like when I collect laundry detergent. I just got an order from BTC... I apparently felt it neccessary to order MORE wicks!*faint* Not only that... but I have another order coming with even more wicks!! What the Hell was I thinking!?!?!!? *asking myself* Was I in a coma when I ordered them!?!?! Kimberly

You guys are too funny! My husband keeps telling me "here a wick, there a wick, every where a wick, wick." Then I get to hear how I'm having *wick - ed* issues. He is so not *wick-ed* funny.:rolleyes2 Kimberly

I'm not only a fo ho... but I'm a fo ho with a wick issue. I have all these blessed wicks and no place to put them... testing, testing, testing...1,2,3... testing???? That seems like all I do is test. All I want to do is make candles.:undecided I want to wick the darn jar, pour the darn jar, and burn the darn jar... am I really asking for so much. Why can't this be easy... why... WHY!?!?!?!*faint* Just a small melt down. I need to relax before I work myself into a nosebleed. Kimberly

Thanks Henry... I have one of my candles burning that I poured the other day and not more than 10 minutes ago did I contemplate wicking down again to see what would happen. The candle burning now is burning great... I walked through the houe and looked at all the candles I've had testing at some point... one has no soot and one has so little I had to really look for it. It's that one at the store that really bothers me, it's the first one I've had that is just loaded. BTW... all three jars I've mentioned are the same size and shape and all 3 have had a different experience. Kimberly

I second that.... I'll be thinking long and hard when it comes to ordering supplies whether or not Gelluminations is a company I want to deal with after the response that was posted here. None of the other posters put me off from dealing with the company; however, after "throwing some weight around" the company did a fine job on their own of loosing my business. I appreciate the fact that people are willing to air their experiences in dealing with suppliers at the risk of sometimes looking foolish for not paying more attention to details...it has been BECAUSE people were willing to give opinions and share experiences that I have dealt with the companies I'm dealing with. And for those companies in general that do give sub standard service...welcome to the world of "not getting my money". If you don't like the critique... change the practice. Kimberly

I've never seen cdn's... where can they be purchased? I might have to look into them. Kim

I've also wicked these jars with HTP 104, 44-28-18c, CD8 and CD10. HTP 104 burns wicked hot and just eats away at the wax. CD 10 burns a bit slow, but not by much. 44-28-18c & CD 8 give a nice even burn, good even wax consumption without being a hog like the HTP104s and they burn right to the edge 97% or catch up after the 2nd or 3rd burn. But I have some soot with all of them Kim

I'd be interested in hearing replies on this issue too. I thougth for awhile maybe it was my dye, but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I don't show soot in all the candles... it's not existant in some, quite a bit in others and then just a little in other candles. I do know there was one candle that had quite a bit of soot in the wax when it rehardened... and that particular candle had burned all day, never got trimmed because I kept getting side tracked with clients and it had quite a big flame by the time I got to it. These are also 4" apothocary jars, double wicked with CD8s. CD8 are about as small as I can go and there's still a touch of cling to the sides... when I used smaller, didn't even come close to getting a melt pool all the way to the sides. Kim

Krazy... I have to fess up, after waiting awhile to get a response to my post... I just ended up ordering every color there was in block form from BitterCreek. But thank you for your input... it's still appreciated even thought I was an Instant Annie and couldn't wait. And also thank for the offer to share. Jami... thank for your input also... I'm going to get a small grater since I now have all this color coming. I have a scale and very small measuring cups... it'll just be an issue of finding the right amount again to get the color I want. Kimberly

I'm using liquid dye from brambleberry and have had a beautiful response from customers about the colors of the candles. BUT.... I happened to be on a site that oodles of dye chips and dye blocks that can be shaved... and there were sooooo many more color options to be had compaired to what I'm doing now. Right now, I have red, blue, teal, yellow, hunter green and brown and I combine and play till I get the color I envision. So I'm on this site and looking at all the color options and thinking about the hundreds more color options I would have if I had a more diverse group of colors. Now for the reason I need opinions. I have all the kinks worked out of my 16 oz. candles... no issues, no problems... no nothing. I'm afraid of changing something that's working so well when I see so many people having issues...YET... I really liked the colors I saw and there was such a huge variety. For those that use dye chips and shave off blocks.... do you think it would make such a huge difference in my candles that I would have to go back to testing extensively again... do you like using the dye chips or blocks and are they hard to use? I've used Wellington on a regular basis and had no problems with what I've bought.... that being said...I have ordered from other companies and had what I've felt were exceptional fo's. Kim

I did up 3 16oz. jars last night with Peaks Black Raspberry Vanilla and it is to die for! I can still smell it around the house. Kim

I use liquid dye from Brambleberry and it seems to me I've seen in several places that soy wax doesn't take the deep colors well it's been recommended to add a TINY bit of black to get depth. I've seen that said somewhere on several sites I've been to, but now I'm having a brain cramp and can't remember where they were. While I'm willing to concede that I don't know everything ( I'd never admit that to my husband:laugh2: ), maybe someone else has a better way of getting those deep dark colors in a way that wont clog the wicks.
