  1. OMG...you gals crack me up (grumpy girl and prairieannie)! Funny thing is...there's probably someone out there that would want to copy your "very original" descriptions. LOL
  2. DIY has nothing to do with what your site's text says...that is completely up to the owner of the site. They are a template and a place to host the site. That is why it is a Do It Yourself site. I had this problem awhile back...someone decided to copy my text/concepts/sales/ideas verbatim...no originality...nothing from them...just copy and pasted. Still happens to an extent, but I have decided that I would rather concentrate on my business...and not let it stress me out the way it did when it was brought to my attention. I would say...if your sister copy and pasted everything from someone else's site...she has some explaining to do and you need to login and change your text as soon as you can...I know how the other site owner feels that it was copied from.
  3. But, I thought a rating of 6 on the the plastic would be ok? I am totally confused now, because I read a bunch of posts that all said the polyethlene was the bad plastic to use...yet that is what PET/PETE is?
  4. I am going to make a new wax product that is poured into a container that is stamped with a 6 in the triangle (which is PS) on the bottom (I know this number is safe for scent retention)...what I am wondering is...the plastic lid has a 1 in the triangle, which is PETE...should I not use this lid, as it may suck the scent out or will it be fine? I know there are b&b bottles made of PET or PETE and they are fine for scent retention...but what about the lid for my containers that will have wax in them...I'm affraid the lid will pull the scent out...what do you all think? HELP!
  5. I use Propay and Paypal...Propay is great for accepting credit cards, for those who do not like Paypal...plus, you can use it at craft shows...made a big difference for me! To use Propay, you would setup the FCCCC in your admin...it collects the credit card info on a secure server and then you input them at Propay...works great for me!
  6. I'll do one for ya! And, I can design it in Publisher...if you like. PM me, if you're interested.
  7. Thanks...I think you are right. Business owners would want to see the prices up front and not have to call...I would want the same thing, if I was in retail.
  8. Thank you to those who replied. I went ahead and added the prices on the brochure and I guess we will see how it turns out.
  9. Well, I had to sit and think a lot about what exactly I wanted to say about my company and what it had to offer. I slowly came up with a decent introduction letter that I am now satisfied with. I really don't think I want to add it here...unless ya'll want to read my blabbering?? I can pm it to you, if you like?
  10. I am sending out some wholesale information packets to local businesses and have an introduction letter stating they can request a free candle to sample and a wholesale brochure. What I am wondering is should I give my wholesale prices on this "cold" mailing...or should I wait to give them this information until they request the free candle to sample?
  11. I don't smell anything with it. I just bought an impulse sealer...should be here soon.
  12. Oh good lord...I sure hope not! Where did you get your shrink wrap? I got mine at Packco, but am wondering if the PVC type will suck out the scent? It would stink (no pun intended lol) to have bought all of the supplies to do it this way to then find out that it doesn't work well...
  13. I used to use the golden harvest jars (which have a texture of fruit on the outside) and the labels will not stick to it...so, I put them on the lid. I don't use them anymore though.
  14. I use 2 X 4 labels and they look like this: I get mine at BCN, but you can get kraft labels in this size just about anywhere. Another place would be Planet Label or Online Labels. HTH!
  15. I ordered PVC shrink wrap from Packco (heard about them from CT) and now I'm wondering if PVC is ok to shrink wrap tarts in? Will it suck the scent out or am I ok?
  16. I use Propay for accepting credit cards on my DIY site...then, I can use it at craft shows, as well...it works out well for me. Plus, on DIY you have a secure credit card server that collects all the customer's info for you.
  17. I sell my new clamshells for $3.75 each...but after seeing that some people are doing 2 for's and 3 for's...I might try that, as well. Tarts are selling like mad these days...almost better than the candles! Now to just get the central part of the US to buy them...lol
  18. I definitely recommend DIY...they are the best for the price and what you get in return. I huge plus is their customer service. The cart system is so easy to use and has about every feature you could ever want...plus they are adding new features all the time.
  19. You know what...I just saw those on ebay for $1 each and they were the gallon size...maybe I will do that! Thanks!!!
  20. OH...those are cute...how much were they each?
  21. Jars...that's a good idea. I have a bunch of quart jars I could put them in. But, I kinda wanted to use them at home for storage, as well...
  22. I guess just big enough to display single tarts for sale? Maybe like a gallon size...or should it be smaller? What do other people sell their single tarts in at craft shows?
  23. Where I could get large plastic containers to hold single tarts in at craft shows? I would use each container for a different scent and have them all lined up next to each other? I have been searching around for something...but, really haven't found anything that I am looking for. Anyone?? TIA!
