Let me first start by saying, that I really debated on posting a reply to this, as I really felt that this should have been a private matter. My logo in no way was an intentional copy of Danielle's. This design has been in the works for quite some time and until recently, hadn't come to life (as I am so busy helping many, many clients from CT, as well as many other places). As all of you may know, I have been a graphic designer for over 17 years and would never "copy" anyone...it's just not in me. I can only say to all of you that this is my design...I use professional software to design everything (for myself, as well as all of my clients) and should not be put into question without first getting the facts. Yes, the two logos do look somewhat similar, but from a designer's perspective...they are far more different, than most will see that do not do this for a living. To all those who came to my defense, I thank you. I am an honest person that truly only wants to help others and would never purposely do anything to upset another.

Ah...I just noticed that Jamie is closed. I bet if you email her and request the designs or someone she could point you to do them, she might help you out...she's super nice. I can most certainly design your labels for you...but, you'll have to find someone to print them for you. Just let me know, if I can be of any help.

OMG...this post reminded me that I needed to find a new place to get a vinyl banner made for the back of my SUV, as my cousin isn't making them anymore (dang-it!). I just found this place: www.speedysigns.com and they are SO cheap! If anyone is looking for a banner, sign, etc...they seem to be really inexpensive!

I used to use 1 1/2 X 2 labels and they fit perfectly, but then switched to 2 X 2 labels, so I could use them for the lip balms and candles. The 2 X 2 had to be cut on the edges to fit top and bottom, but were just as easy. Now I have to come up with a new design with my larger white gloss labels...yikes!

I ship internationally all the time. USPS would be the best route to go. She just needs to package it up and weigh it. Then go to the USPS site and get the shipping options to your location. Once you choose the shipping method, she will have to take it to the PO and fill out a customs form. Make sure she marks that it is a gift on the form, to deter fees on your end. If the package is under 4 pounds, you can do Letter Post (cheapest route), if it's more than that...then you can do airmail parcel post (next cheapest route). Well...I would once again like to thank everyone for their input. I have ordered the black lids in for the JJ and am going to keep up my search for a black 82 lug lid for the salsa jars. I am just toooooo excited about this new look! I cannot believe I finally found the time to come up with something for myself...

LOL...it's great that you are doing this. It's very addictive, so be careful. I'm sure your G/F will be extremely happy!

All of my displays at stores and for shows are stained pine. I may have to think about switching them out, as a lighter look may be better. Just depends on whether I want to spend the time (and money) to redo everything. lol I think I'll focus on redoing the labels for now.

Actually they aren't square, they are 2.675" X 2"...I got them at Online Labels...they are the glossy type for laser printers...LOVE THEM!

So, you are saying you would go with the black lid for the JJ and stay with the gold for the salsa jar?

Ah...so many opposing views...I can't decide either. White or Gold? Or maybe I could get black for the JJ and just use the gold for the salsa jar? Or do you think that would be wrong to not have them match?

The other thread was getting a bit long...so, I thought I'd start a new one. I would like to thank everyone for their input thus far...I have gotten a lot of great ideas from you all! I also thought about changing the lid color with the new label change. I can get black for the JJ, but not the salsa jar. Here are some pics of the lids I can get...what do you think? Go black JJ and gold salsa jar or all white or all gold?

Yes...thought of this as well! I thought I may try out the brown/burgundy color in place of the black. For some reason...I like the black label better, but something about it is bothering me? I think I'll try changing the color of the band and see if it makes a difference.

AH...but being a graphic designer has been my downfall. It's always about the client and finding what "they" want. I have had the worst time coming up with something I really like for myself. lol I'm sure I'll get there sooner or later...just have to find the time for my own business in between all my clients.

Hi all...would love to get your input on a new label design I have come up with. There are two versions and I need to figure out which one is better (and why lol). I am leaning towards the one with the black strip through the middle...but really can't decide between the two. I LOVE how these labels turned out...the background image is a closeup of my chunks! I am LOVIN' my new laser printer and the new gloss labels...now just to find a new design. lol Would love to get some input! TIA! Here's a third choice...what do you all think???

Not to hi-jack your thread, but I normally use the 1/2 # bags from MC and they are closed right now. Does anyone know where else I could find this size with the window in them?

OK...just bought a new color laser printer (yeah!!!) and now want to order some gloss white labels. I've done a search and can't seem to find anywhere accept Planet Label and Online Labels...are the glossy labels from these places good? I've ordered from Planet Label before with no problems, but have heard a few bad things about Online Labels. Any other places to get them? Or can someone that orders from the two above companies verify that the glossy labels print well in a color laser printer? TIA!

For some reason...the "bumpkin" part bugs me. lol I think I would just like to figure out a new name for it...whether it is country or not. I really do not have that many country names left, but if I can come up with something for this...I don't really care. I thought of a couple, but they just aren't it... Southern Sweets Country Home Comfort UGH...I need HELP!

OK...I've tested quite a few new scents and need to rename one of them... Country Bumpkin (from NG) I am usually pretty good at renaming scents, but this one has me baffled! Here's the description: A wonderful complex blend of apples, candied yams, marshmallows, sweet cream butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, crushed cinnamon bark and fresh cloves. Bring the country home to you. Please HELP me! TIA!

I believe the best way is either in a light box (easy to make yourself at home) with a couple flood lamps or going outside and using natural light. It helps to be able to touch the photos up with photo software, as well.
