  1. Me too but I use Adobe Illustrator. The label doesn't stick very well so I use clear tape to keep it from peeling. You can also buy shrink bands in lip balm tube size to protect the label.
  2. Yes, you are right!I meant antioxidant not preservative sorry about that Celly
  3. Hi everyone, I am wondering if it's possible to add distilled water to my body butter without adding preservative in it. I saw a B & B product that has distilled water in the ingredients but the maker claims that there is no preservative in the product. Is that possible? Thank you so much for the advice Celly
  4. The prime pressed golden smells like chocolate but the refined or deodorized one doesn't smell like anything.
  5. I ran a search before I posted the question. I found several threads about body parfait but no explanation of what it is. It's supposed to have gel in the center? That's all I know
  6. I use wheat germ oil. This oil has a very high content of vit E and from my research I have found that you can add this oil as a preservative as well. Here is one of the link that I have found : http://www.sheabutter.com/productsmed.php?currentcategory=86&selectedcategory=0&x=1
  7. I am new to B&B and I have no idea what these stuff are and what they are used for. I want to join the Autumn swap and some people mentioned that they are making body parfait. This is the first time I have heard this product. Can someone enlighten me?And maybe post a link with pictures TIA Celly
  8. I read somewhere here that a member used large tea bags instead of muslin and it worked. I tried wrapping the herbs with the cheesecloth and it somewhat worked. There were still teeny tiny crumbs that escaped the bag though. I am going to try using tea bags next time. Celly
  9. I just did a chamomile infusion lately but I mixed it with some calendula petals as well. The oil smells close to the dried chamomile. It took me about 4 or 5 hours using very low heat in a double boiler. I turn off the heat sometimes so the herbs won't get cook. After the process, the herbs were crunchy. But from what I read, that's normal. Maybe you can try infusing using a different process and compare the two results.
  10. Elements bath and body has some nice clear 2 oz twist-up tubes. It's more expensive than the deodorant looking ones but I think it's worth it. A lot easier to use and looks great.
  11. I packaged mine right away and after 2 weeks, they still look great. I whipped it for maybe 10 minutes at the most with a standing mixer.
  12. Elements bath and body sells them : http://www.elementsbathandbody.com/Muslin-Drawstring-c-143.html Celly
  13. Thank you so much for the link. That's what I have been looking for
  14. Hi everyone, I have a wonderful healing balm that I would like to market. I am just going to sell it as a skincare product not a drug. Is it true that I can't use the word "healing" on my salve name?Does anyone know where I can find more information on what words I can't use so that I won't break any FDA rules? Thank you Celly
  15. I love the name Tropical Temptations. I think finding your niche is very very important. That way you can have a better focus on what you offer and with slimmer product line, you will have the opportunity to buy many things in bulk, which means less cost.
  16. There are some EO's that are a no no for mom to be and babies. I am not sure which ones but I am sure you can do a search on google on that. I think there is a belly balm recipe here somewhere. I usually leave it unscented bcs pregnant women are very sensitive to scents.
  17. The ice pack is a great idea, some questions : can you ship the packs using USPS?Will it be considered liquid? Isn't it going to be really expensive though to ship this with your product?Especially after the recent rate increase from USPS. My lotion bar melted during shipping and I am looking for some way to ship this thing without melting so I can still sell during the summer.
  18. I have tried the tins and the jars. The tins are cute I think but I am worried about rust so in the future I will use only jars or push up tubes for the travel size.
  19. I am actually testing for a dry skin relief cream and other bath/body products. For candles I agree that if you don't make candles or know a lot about burning candles, you might not be a great candidate for testers. I think with candles, you can test it yourself. But as far as B&B goes, I don't have any more skin left to try my cream on Both my kids have been my guinea pigs so far but they can't really give me any opinions. I recruited some people on the forum to test my new cream and I am wondering if it's fair to charge a nominal amount, maybe to cover cost and shipping or should I just make it a freebie?
  20. There might be some copyright issues you need to consider.
  21. Yup, I agree with Twocentsworth, a detailed business plan is a must
  22. You can put your herbs in a muslin bag so you won't have to bother straining at the end.
  23. Creative Body Essentials, thanks a lot for the info. I'm going to try Mountain Rose Herbs. I have never tried growing herbs at home. I am afraid I might kill it. I am not good at taking care of plants. Maybe I'll try that someday, it sounds really interesting
  24. If you don't mind sharing, where do you get your herbs?
  25. http://www.pvsoap.com/recipe_calendula_ointment.htm This one is pretty simple. If you don't want to make your ow infused oil, camden grey sells it
