  1. I use CS as well and my customers love it. I can also attest to it's odor eliminating power as we used it on a trip in our fifth wheel with our 2 cats and it worked wonders on the litterbox (in a candle). To me it smells like juicy fruit gum with a touch of spice.
  2. I use both the Lavender from candlescience in my line as well as the Lavender from Peak's. The Candlescience Lavender smells more like real lavender to my nose but some of my customers like the soapier smell of Peak's Lavender.
  3. I use the Gardenia from peaks in palm wax and it has a super strong hot throw in my application. Plus customers love it!
  4. I really like this idea! The bride to be that wants to order candles from me wants 60 pillars and I haven't given her a price quote yet, although she has visited my website and come to our market location to see them. I will definitely be charging full price, but I really like the "freebie" idea, thank you very much!
  5. That's pretty much what my husband said! Except I think he called it a bull$&%t surcharge
  6. I strictly make palm wax pillars, and for regular customers that are ordering scented pillars I charge $10 for a 3" pillar $14 for a 6" pillar and $18 for a 9" pillar, a set of three is $40. I'm assuming I should be offering some kind of discount to do wedding pillars since they normally order quite a few of them and they are usually unscented:confused:? I had considered offering wholesale pricing (50%) but I don't want to shortchange myself either since making the number of pillars required for a wedding can be somewhat labor intensive. For those of you that do weddings, what do you charge for pillars? I'm open to any suggestions!
  7. Thank you, I need to order from them so I will have to add that to my list!
  8. I've been surprised as we are actually doing better than we did last year, but we mostly do farmers markets. Our web sales have been slow but are definitely picking up. I've been focusing on improving my google ranking and advertising more. Also we are going to be having an article about us coming out in a local magazine on the 24th so I'm curious to see how that impacts sales? Other than that I'm very excited for the holiday season and just like last year have shows planned for every weekend through the holidays. I guess we'll see how it goes :smiley2:
  9. I think I am going to have to take a trip to the mall to buy one so I can try to dupe it...
  10. I wonder if shes out of stock on this since I can't find it on the website anywhere, but when I search on FOF it is listed. I e-mailed JS to find out.
  11. I have another customer wanting a Roasted Chestnut fragrance. I know the Chestnuts & Brown Sugar is usually really popular, but I think he's looking for more of a nutty scent. Has anyone tried any good ones?
  12. I have a customer requesting a dupe of Bath and Body Works Slatkin & Co. "Frosted Cranberry" scent. Here is the description I found for it... Has anyone seen or tried anything like this? I have never smelled this from Bath and Body Works before, maybe I need to take a trip to the mall :smiley2:
  13. I'm always looking for the perfect cranberry too so I know the feeling :smiley2:. My favorite so far is spiced cranberry from BCN it's tart with a hint of sweetness and cinnamon spice. Not plain like ocean spray cranberry but it is really yummy. I will have to try KY's cranberry since I need to order from them soon.
  14. I fixed the broken links issue, thank you for finding that! I completely understand your point about not being able to order from the fragrance list. I have been trying to think about how to do that since I sell so many different sizes of containers. Maybe I could just link them to my most popular container? Or I thought of just adding a "shop now" button to the page, but I think that's too simplistic. I may have to come up with a separate way of ordering with drop down menus for size and scent etc... just for the fragrance list.... Hmmm this definitely gives me something to think about! Thank you!
  15. Whoops! I'm going to go fix that right now, thank you!
  16. Thank you, I did do it myself. I started it when I started selling candles about 2 years ago and just learned what I needed to as I went along. Keeping it up is a lot more work than you think, but definitely worth it. :smiley2:
  17. I completely agree with the double scroll bars, that's actually on my improvement "to do" list. :smiley2:
  18. I'm trying to improve my websites user friendliness, and am really not sure where to start. Everyone on here has given me great advice about anything I have ever asked and I have learned so much from these boards, I would love to hear your feedback in this area as well. Here is the web address www.candeocandle.com . Please don't hesitate to be as blunt and straightforward as possible!
  19. I did a search on Fragrance Oil Finder and it shows that WSP carries a Rosemary Lime, I haven't tried it so I couldn't tell you if it's what your looking for though. http://www.fragranceoilfinder.com/catalog/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=rosemary+lime&osCsid=76a67b995f6277fa163460de3c368545&x=0&y=0
  20. I have a brochure that I made up to give to people who request wholesale info. It has my wholesale pricing with pictures of all the different types of candles I offer, a list of all available scents, terms & conditions, contact information, and since I sell palm wax candles I also include an explanation of what palm wax is. As far as a letter is concerned I would probably just explain to them what is in your brochure, and why your candles would be their best choice. Just say anything that you would say to them if you were able to meet with them in person. :smiley2:
