  1. VERY pretty! And it's goat flakes huh?? Now I'm really embarrassed about saying I have access to goats milk!:embarasse *lol* Oh well, at least I didn't TRY to get the milk!! *lol*
  2. My grandchildren just got some goats and live very close to me. As soon as I figure out how to make soap I'll have to try using goats milk! I'm already overwhelmed as it is, so I won't yet ask what using goat milk would entail. Your soap does look really creamy!
  3. Hi Michi! I'm really bad when it comes to shopping out of town. I actually get tired of the unpacking when I get home. *lol* I too shop like I think I'll never "get out" again. Days like today kill me. It's snowing and I swear people don't have a clue how to drive in it out here. It's already a long drive for me, let alone with snow and inexperienced drivers in this kind of weather. I found the page where all the suppliers are listed by state. Ohio sure has a lot! Is there a specific reason why the West Coast is lacking in suppliers so badly? I'll have to check out Oregon Trail. Thanks for the tip!
  4. Hey Ruba, I sent you a private message. Don't laugh ok...but Lock Your Love is where I am. Now how embarrassing is THAT?!! *lmao* I wonder if we know each other.
  5. Thanks you guys! I'll be looking into them. Can't wait to get started!
  6. Hello, Tomorrow I am going shopping for whatever I need to TRY to make soap for the first time. I will be going to Michaels or Joanns. I've been reading your threads for days now and have made a list which consists of like 15 to 20 items now. Pretty confused and overwhelmed at this point but I'll deal with it. I want to get a kit but am too impatient to wait for it to be sent. *L* In reading these threads, I've noticed that a lot of suppliers are in the southern states. I haven't noticed any yet near or in Nevada. Does anyone know if there any near Nevada. When I go shopping tomorrow, I have to drive 90 miles to the nearest big town, deal with their traffic, deal with rain, spend way too much money because I finally got out of my tiny town, drive home 90 miles, unpack everything and then look at the receipts thinking...No more out of town trips for awhile. *lol* So if anyone knows of a supplier near Nevada, I'd appreciate the info. Thanks!!
  7. Hi Scented, Would you mind listing what exactly was in your kit? I am going shopping tomorrow for stuff to make soap for my first time and don't really know what I should get. Thanks!
  8. Was this a soap party for the soaps you make & sell? And do you give out your recipe to newbies who have no clue how to do something that beautiful but wants to learn? Ok, now were these the 2 dumbest questions you've ever been asked? Unfortunatley I was being serious.:embarasse
  9. Hi jbren, Then maybe I should try one to see how it goes. I see these bears advertised for that specifically, I'm guessing they have to be certain stuffed animals, and not just any old kind that sits up? You used a coffee can? That's great! I am just dying to try something, anything really, to see if I can even do it. I do spend a fortune on candles weekly, even more so now that I'm in a different area at work where guys are always at. You know how they tend to leave their smell after 12 hours. *lol* Thank you again for your help! One day, I hope to show pictures on this site of really cool stuff that I did. Ok, pipedream, but a girl can dream, right? *lol*
  10. Thank you sudsnwicks! I just might have to go try one to see.
  11. Then the original recipe on page one is what is needed? Sorry to be so dense, total newbie here.:embarasse
  12. I thought I knew what I wanted to make...now after close to 5 hours of reading these threads and seeing all the beautiful soaps, especially jbrens, I have no clue what to do or where to start. Would soap bombs be the easiest to start with? I'd like to start with something easy or I will give up out of frustation. *lol* My biggest problem is that I have never been creative. So anything I've tried to make has turned out bad. Last time I tried to make anything was paper mache I believe, back in the 70's. *lol* Turned into a ball of mush. I really want to make soap that is beautiful like what I've seen here tonight. Ok, that tells you nothing since it is all beautiful. Maybe something easy to start with to build some confidence? That sounds horrible coming from a grandmother! *lol* But I honestly have no confidence in anything creative, just the desire for many many years to make something pretty.
  13. Hello, I am probably driving everybody crazy with all of my questions on this board tonight. But now that I've been reading for hours...I am truely overwhelmed! So, I started looking around for kits, thinking that would be a simpler way to get started. I found this site and these kits.... http://shop.candlesandsupplies.com/candles/category.asp?catalog%5Fname=Candles&category%5Fname=Soap%2C+Bath+%26+Body&Page=1&path=Soap%2C+Bath+%26+Body Is it better to start with a kit? I'd like to make bath bombs and soap and have ZERO experience and/or talent. There are a few on this page to choose from, and even THAT I wasn't sure of. If someone has better ideas about kits, yes/no..please tell me! *lol*
  14. Ok, really stupid question here...where is the borax mentioned in this recipe? Is it the citric acid? I want to try making these, first timer here, and can't figure out which ingredient is the Borax.
  15. Thanks jbren! I thought this was something new as I had never seen it before. *lol* I want to make everything, the bears, candles, bath bombs, soaps. I've just never done any of it and those bears seemed the easiest to start with. Maybe I'll just buy a kit for all the others and see how it goes. I don't have a talented bone in my body and it really sucks when I see the beautiful items you guys are making and I can only wish I could do that. Thanks again!
  16. Holy! This is beautiful! Still scratching my head wondering how you guys do all of these beautiful things???
  17. These are beautiful! Tonight I am taking the time to really look at these threads and I am floored by the beautiful pictures. Makes me want to run out and make some for myself...yeah right, as if I could! Ms. "no talent" here.
  18. OMG! Those are sooo pretty! Once in awhile I come across a thread with pictures, I could never make something this pretty. Very envious of you guys.
  19. Hello, Lately I've seen these air freshners that are wax dipped stuffed animals. I've been looking for a kit to make them. Would a pillar candle making kit do the job? The metal cooking pot didn't look quite big enough. On this site it said to use a cooker. What kind exactly? I've never made any candles yet, so this would be my first time out with making anything actually. *lol* I know these aren't candles, and I know they aren't meant to be lit, good God could you imagine lighting one of these up! Anyways, I am hoping someone out there has tried to make these or knows everything I'd need to make them. My list so far consists of... A cooker (not sure what kind) fragrance oils wax stuffed animals tongs heat resistant gloves cookie sheet. Am I missing anything? This is why I'd like to get a kit if there is one available, mostly because I have no idea where to get the oils, wax, or what kind of cooker. I get paid this week and will be ordering whatever you guys suggest to try this. I can't wait!
  20. Hi Candleran & Wendy, The link Candleran put up, I couldn't get into. But thank you both for your advice.
  21. Ok, so what would you suggest then, the vybar or the universal? And I should have said I spend a HUGE fortune on buying candles from stores for other people.
  22. I'm going to order the universal and try one of the vybars as well. Would I order the vybar 260 or the 103? Or just get all 3 and try them all for the wickless?
