  1. Is Wildfire's more on the spicy side?? I am looking for a replacement for FOH's Pumpkin Spice, for some reason Elements will not carry it.

I don't think it is quite as spicy as others I have tried. I smell spicy AND sweet pumpkin. I wish I had some of FOH's Pumpkin Spice to compare it. I have had that in the past. Loved FOH's FOs!

I will say that IMO, Wildfire's FOs are top-notch. Love her Spiced Cranberry, Tin Star, Rustic Jeans, Vanilla Romance, Iced Lemon Biscotti....well, just add them all to the list. lol

  2. Also, don't think I would sell these even if I were selling. I gave a friend one and she has hers on all the time. Last time I went to her house, she showed me what hers is doing and asked me why it was doing that. The wax was seeping out of the ceramic part. The one she had did not have a glaze and oddly enough, the wax was penetrating through the ceramic. I have that same exact one in my bathroom, but don't have it on all the time. Thinking maybe there is a crack in hers somewhere which is causing the problem...

Well, I guess it may be an issue with the plug-ins that don't have the glossy finish. Mine just started seeping wax as well! I was looking at it and wondering if my hubby bumped it since there was some wax beneath it on the counter. Upon closer inspection, I could see that the whole outside of the warmer was wet with melted wax! I saved the plug-in part with the bulb and threw the ceramic part away.

  3. These are all tarts and some of my favorites that throw awesome:

    Mulled Cider - ALB

    Dickens Christmas - ALB

Chocolate orange truffle - BW (OMG, so delish!!! wanted to drink the FO)

Banana nut bread (CS or PK)

    Gingerbread - CS

    Cinnamon Buns - JS

    Oatmeal Cookie w/icing - JS

    Zucchini Bread KY

    Sugar Corn Pudding KY

    Country Gift Shop KY

Hillbilly Homebrew NG (to me this smells just like B&BW Leaves)

    Spruce Christmas Tree - PK

Thanks, Dessa! I have a lot of those FOs. Don't you just LOVE KY's Zucchini Bread and Sugar Corn Pudding?! They are awesome! I am going to have to try them in that wax blend. The Chocolate Orange Truffle...I had a sample of that one and put it into votives. YUM! And I haven't yet ordered from Alabaster, but I hear that their Mulled Cider is a dupe of GC's. Is it? There are lots of GC scents that I love...then again, I am a FOHO. lol

  4. Spill the beans mnhoneybear! How many did you order????

I might place another order today. I love that beach linen.

    :embarasse

I'm embarrassed to admit how out of control I am. lol

Okay, okay...I ordered 72. :shocked2: But...in my defense, I ordered three each of the new ones so that I could test in different applications and three each in the Vanilla Lace & WVS due to a "blends" thread that I saw, AND more importantly, my birthday is coming up so it was kinda an early birthday present to myself. :wink2:

Hey, there are a lot worse things I could be addicted to, aren't there? lol

Oooh! Can't wait to get the Beach Linen! Heck, can't wait to sniff each and every one of them! :yay:

  5. I think she just sells her own candles and the fragrance oil. If you look at the top of the FO page, there are links to the other pages of her site. I don't see supplies. Anywhere you could save on shipping would be worthwhile. Every penny counts these days!

  6. Thank you so much! I live near her, so I didn't know if I should start with FOs from CS or just start with hers & not pay shipping.

You are SO lucky to live close to a supplier...especially her! She doesn't have a huge selection, but what she does have is top-notch.

  7. what type of wax do you use nmhoneybear?

i have never heard of this fo supplier..

but always like to try something new..:)[/quote/]

I use 4794 for votives. All of these throw amazingly well in this wax. I don't think I have made jars or tarts with any of WF's FO yet, but I plan on it.

Actually, Wildfire was one of the very first places that I ever ordered from when I started making candles back in November '06. Funny thing was, she accidentally mixed up my order with someone else and just let me keep what I received. It was several two ozers and a whole pound of Ms. Randy's Vanilla Bean! That's how I know how good THAT stuff is! lol

  8. You are terrible LOL! I have some absinthe because of you and it's been difficult keep the lid on it. NOw you're starting in on this. My sniffer needs a vacation ... :laugh2:

    HAHA

Well don't worry, Julie! I just checked again and Connie either doesn't carry this anymore or she is out of stock.

I was just sayin' that I bet you'd like this, and soon you'll be able to find out for yourself and it won't cost you a penny. :P

P.S. I'm off to sniff the Absinthe again. lol

  9. I've pretty much tried all of her oils, and none seem identical to Peak or Candle Science to my nose. They are all awesome! Hard to explain, but just special somehow. I especially love her Spiced Cranberry, Rustic Jeans, Tin Star, Fireside Inn, Amber & Honeysuckle, Iced Lemon Biscotti, Ms. Randy's Vanilla Bean (one of the best vanillas out there, imo), Apple Strudel, Orange Chiffon Cake, Cactus Lime Sugar, Warm Vanilla Sugar, and Winter Blast. You won't be disappointed with anything from Wildfire.

Think I'll pour some Wildfire FO very soon. :)

  10. I have some Indian Summer from Backwoods that doesn't smell anything like the LS description (got it from the classifieds recently). I think it's a discontinued scent since I can't find it on BW's site. It's definitely an earthy FO. I smell lots of patch. Bet you'd like this one, Scented! :pHmmm...I think I am feeling an urge to make some incense this weekend. lol

  11. nmhoneybear, how did your testing with the 4794/415 combo turn out? I have been using a very similar blend (about 52/48% blend) and so far I am very happy with the cold throw, hot throw and the release of the tarts from the molds. I like this combo better than the 4794/4630 blend.

Mary, did you try the one of these two or a similar blend as well? How did it turn out for you?

    Thanks,

    Dessa

LOL I haven't tested a bunch of these. I forgot. :rolleyes2 I have only tested a couple, but thanks for the reminder.:)

Just put a Moonlight Path (Peak) in the warmer and waiting for it to do its thing. One I tested was a Sage & Citrus from Candle Source. It threw pretty well and for a few days. Can't remember the other one, but it was good, too. I've been thinking about upping my percentage on the 4794, though, because I want the wax to be a little harder. I haven't ever tried the blend with 4630, but just got some 464 in to play with.

What scents have you had good results with? (If you don't mind me asking...)

    Valerie
