  1. There is a link at the top of the site that says request samples. It will open an online form for you to fill out. HTH-Shala
  2. When I go to their site and try to read about the 600 series I am getting a runtime error. Is this happening to anyone else? I have emailed them to find out the problem, but I just wanted to see if anyone was having the same problem. Shala
  3. Brenda, I did not even notice that! I read the more info but didn't pay attention to what it said right below the name. Thanks for pointing it out.
  4. Thanks for the responses. I've tested some of the Green Leaf 70/30 and was just wondering if anyone had tried the Taylored one. I'm just going to have to get me some and compare the two.
  5. Anybody use this wax? What are your thoughts on it? I'm going to buy some to test just wondering if anybody had an opinions on it. TIA-Shala
  6. I poured two testers on Tuesday and have been burning them. I still don't have any wet spots. At night our house gets down to about 68 and still none. I just love the look of the wax!
  7. Yep they are all the same diameter just shorter. I got them from Taylored Concepts. I'm really liking the look of this blend also.
  8. I haven't posted pictures in a long time so I thought that I would post these jars. They are the 7oz & 12oz status jars with the new 70/30 wax from Greenleaf. The adhesion to the jars is great! They are scented with Peak's Apple Blossom. The flame on the small candle looks a little big due to a draft where they are sitting for the picture.
  9. I am not a strong knock your socks off scent lover. I like to smell the candle but not be overwhelmed by it. The first time I used Peaks Lavender I used it at 1oz per pound and WOW it was STRONG! I have a couple of Peaks scents that I can get away with 1/2oz per pound and they still smell very good. You are right about the notebook. It will be full before you make a perfect candle!
  10. Looks like fudge! Very pretty, I love it.
  11. Hubby and I poured a little over 100 candles for the fundraiser that we are doing. Between that and what was poured during the week last week we only have about 20 to pour tonight and we will be done. woohoo.
  12. I'm so glad that you asked this question. I asked a couple of days ago on the veggie board but you worded your question better than I did mine. lol Thanks for all the answers that everyone gave!
  13. Thanks for all of the congrats! Bev, This was my first fundraiser and before the numbers came in I was worried that it would be too big. If it was huge we would've delt with it but I feel like the 200 is something that I can handle and not stress out too much. It was a good one to do first and get my feet wet.
  14. Thanks for you input Marilyn. I'm not too worried about people that are used to buying paraffin buying soy but the other way around. Will people that like soy candles buy a candle with some paraffin in it? I know that I have lots of research to do and am not in any way trying to get around that. I just wanted to see some input on customers. Thanks again for answering Marilyn. I really appreciated it!
  15. All of the candles that I have made so far are with paraffin wax. I have done hours upon hours of testing and am happy with my candles, but would like to try a soy blend just for the fun of it. (hubby is going to kill me!) I have had people ask me if my candles are soy, so if you use a blend do you just tell them that it is a soy blend? Do the people requesting soy still buy your candles even though it contains 50% paraffin?
  16. That's great. Its a ton of work but it is a good payout. It sounds corny but I am glad that I could be the ones to help these girls go to camp. Edited to add: Thanks for all of the congrats!
  17. Some of these little girls worked their butts off! I couldn't believe it. The grand total is 203 candles. No where close to what some of you do but we are all very happy with it. These girls were working to go to church camp and most of them paid for at least half of camp and a couple paid for the whole thing. There are two more girls that are going to sell in a couple of weeks because they had other fundraisers going on at the same time. Since it is my sister we were willing to work with them and let them sell later. This was our first fundraiser and we really learned a lot. Just for anyone wanting to know our two top sellers were Warm Apple Pie and Clean Cotton. My little neice (being the overachiever that she is) sold 47 candles and was the top seller of the group. I have to say that she is pretty cute and knows how to work it. lol
  18. It took 3-4 weeks to get mine. I ordered 2 of the 9 bar molds and I love them. I haven't made any soap in months and it is killing me. I'm hoping things will slow down soon and I will have time to get those molds full again!
  19. I'm in! I'm going to put in to get that Friday off and pay my $40 to be a part of the association.
  20. Oh oh I wanna go!! I don't sell soap yet but I do make some when I get the chance. Is that good enough to go? Maybe if I go to this I can finally stop pouting about the candle conference last year. lol
  21. Today is the start of our first small fundraiser. My sister is the teacher of a class at her church for young girls. The girls range from age 6-9 and there is 20 of them. They are doing this fundraiser to help pay for camp this summer. Hubby and I have been working very hard getting all of our ducks in a row, but I am nervous. Please send good thoughts. I really want this to go over well for the girls and if it does we will be doing two for them next year, one in the fall and one in spring. I know that some of you do HUGE fundraisers and I know this one will be nothing close but I am just glad to be getting my feet wet in this part of the business.
  22. Girl your soaps look great!! I haven't made any soap in a couple of months but am dying to get at it again. Its really more addicting for me than candles but I'm not selling it yet so candles have to come first. Great job on your first try and can't wait to see more pictures!
  23. Wooden skewers, they come in a bag of 100 or something for $1.00. I use them to stir and for my liquid dye in case I don’t want a whole drop.
  24. That is so adorable. I love your labels, they are so cute!
  25. First of all I have to get everything organized again. During the move we just stuck all of the candle stuff into two different closets to get it out of the way so we could get everything else situated. Now both of those closets are full to the top and I have no idea where everything is! I've gotten orders for candles all week long so I need to get them done and out to the people. Everyone is in the shopping mood now so I need to get my butt in gear!
