  1. Cissy, I think this is going to be something that you just have to test for yourself. I have had just as many people tell me that these warmers work great as I have those who have told me that they did not burn hot enough. Sounds like it's kinda like everything else about candlemaking - what works for one might not necessarily work for someone else and there can be many variables including, as you mentioned, wax types. If you are wanting to purchase just one for testing purposes then you may want to post an ISO thread in the classified section. That is what I did and I had several very gracious people willing to sell me one so I could test it. HTH and good luck!
  2. I agree! Smells just like the "real deal" and is super strong.
  3. I just got off the phone with Jackel and the rep said that yes, they are all the same wattage and that they are 12 watts. That seems very low to me :undecided (The Provo-Croft ones are 17 watts) Man, the Jackel ones are so pretty, too!
  4. Thanks Sharon! I was wondering about that because when searching I saw that a few people had complained about them not getting hot enough while others raved about them....
  5. I'm a little late to the game on this one, but my CPA told me the same thing as Robyn's. In my case, though, he just happens to be my husband as well, lol.
  6. Do these warmers use a "hot plate" to heat the bowl that sets on top or do they use light bulbs? Also, can someone please tell me the correct wattage of these warmers? I have read everything from 12 watts to 20 watts, lol. Thanks for your help!
  7. I really like Peak's Amish Harvest. It's my favorite spice scent.
  8. Thanks for your input ladies. When I am testing new scents I always reserve judgement until it is in wax. It's just that some of these smell so different that I was skeptical, lol. I'll resist the temptation to cross them off the list
  9. As per my other thread, I am trying to find replacements for BNL. My question is, when you are trying to "match" scents, how many of you only pour those that smell the closest OOB? I know scents often change once in wax, but some of these are so completely different that they would have to change ALOT, lol. I hope this question makes sense. I'm just curious as to how others test in this situation. Thanks!
  10. Thanks ladies! Of course NG's CM would be close since I just ordered a sample pack and did NOT include that one, lol. I do have Peak's Sweet Pea and love it but it is not exactly the same to me. Actually I like Peak's much better because it DOESN'T smell like the BBW one, lol. Guess this gives me an excuse to finally switch. Sorry I can't help on the Euc Spear and Buttermilk Pancakes. I don't use those. Hopefully you will be able to find them soon. Better yet, hopefully someone will buy the business and restock it soon! Monica, are you looking for Euc Spear for b&b or candles? Wondering if you could mix your own using EO's?
  11. Ok, I hate to even go here but.... I am needing to find replacements for some of Lori's oils. I was trying to wait and see if someone was going to buy the biz but I just do not have enough of these oils left to wait that long as most of these have been out of stock for quite sometime. Cucumber Melon Sweet Pea Plumeria Warm Vanilla Sugar I know just about every supplier carries most of these scents, so I'm not needing to know where I can find them, but rather reviews of who has the best dupes that are closest to the B&BW's versions. Any suggestions? And if anyone out there has any of the above that they want to get rid of please pm me (yeah, lol, I know...good luck. But hey, I'm desperate! )
  12. I don't care what they claim, they have definitely messed with the formula! There are just too many people who have had the exact same problems. Yes, the current J223 is much softer and even "looks" different. I also almost always have to take a heat gun to the tops, which I used to only have to do occasionally (and usually because of user error, lol) The scent throw is still awesome, though, so I continue to put up with it (at least for now!) Jane, like others have said, 185-190 is way too hot of a pour temp for that wax. I heat to 175, add color, cool to 160-165, add FO, cool to 150 and pour into heated jars. I then wrap towels around them so they will cool slowly. Keep us posted on how your second batch turns out!
  13. Good question! Lori had the best of those two scents around! And both are out of stock
  14. For those of you who have used both warmers, are they comparible to each other? I currently use the Provo Craft (Candlsense) warmers from Michael's and am wondering how the candlewarmer.com warmers compare. They are 15 watts while the Provo Craft are 17 watts. Will 2 watts make that big of a difference in scent throw? Thanks for your input!
  15. BNL has a great one that smells identical to the B&BW version, at least to my nose.
  16. I'm with Bunny on this one. Wax in a hot car is probably not a good thing! And injecting them then using them as key chains is just asking for numerous catastrophes. Keys get thrown around on everything: car seats, dining room tables, counters, pockets... Not to mention the fact that you constantly handle them. It would be a mighty unpleasant surprise to wipe your eyes or eat something right after handling that keychain! I would think that people could also have skin reactions to the FO, especially if it is not "body safe". For the poster that was thinking about using them only to hang on the mirror - if it has a keychain on it, people WILL use it as such, even if that is not your intended purpose. Now if it does not actually have a keychain and has a loop instead, then that might be ok, but then you have to be careful with view obstruction. I know some states have laws regarding how much of the windshield must remain unobstructed. So you will want to be careful with that as well.
  17. http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5492 You will find that thread very helpful. It is the "Supplier Abbreviations and Links" stickied at the top of this forum. It has ICS as well as many others listed.
  18. Indescent, Not sure if you are wanting other suggestions, or just reviews for WSP, but honestly, ICS has an absolute perfect dupe IMO. I wear the perfume and ICS's version is dead on.
  19. Another vote for BnL's warm vanilla sugar. It is dead on to B&BW to my nose. WVS is a naturally light scent in my opinion.
  20. Thanks ladies! I will try the BCN and SS ones. Sounds like the one from SS might be what they are looking for. Figures, since that is one supplier I've never used, lol.
  21. I knew with prices that good there must be a catch, lol :rolleyes2 Here's hoping that you have better luck. Thanks Angela. Mystical, if you find that shipping is cheaper to the Midwest from any of the companies let me know - I don't mind doing the co-op if that's the case. Or perhaps we could sweet talk Shutter, lol.
  22. Yep, that's pretty much what I came up with as well.
  23. Hey, great pricing, someone else doing the work, lol, sounds great to me! Let me know what you find out.
