  1. If we were only doing one size, then my vote would be for the 8 oz, too, since that is the one with the biggest savings compared to other suppliers. Are you offerring to run it? lol
  2. Well...only if the quality is there. I would like to hear from people who have used them in the past before getting too excited, lol. I am going to email about purchasing some samples from them. I have no idea how much shipping would be from me to you, though. You could probably get a good estimate, though.
  3. Also, the cheapest pricing I have found so far for smaller quantities of the 4 oz is Specialty Bottle, but they, too are in WA.
  4. Mystical - shipping to me for 5000 4 oz and 900 8 oz was only $60.24 - that figures out to be about $0.01 per tin!!! I have re-filled and refilled that cart thinking it must be a mistake, but it comes up the same each time. I am in MO.
  5. This is the page with the price listing. Yes, if you do the bulk purchase the tops and bottoms are sold separately. You can buy packs of 144 that include top and bottom, but they cost alot more that way. http://www.uscontainer.com/deep_pricing.html
  6. Here ya go: www.uscontainer.com Yes, the pricing seems unreal - almost too good to be true, lol. Downside is being left will those stupid extra tops since for some reason they feel the need to sell the tops and bottoms in different quantities. But the prices I listed above even include those silly extras, so at that price who cares, lol.
  7. Has anyone used this company before? I was looking at their seamless tins, and the bulk pricing is great, even with shipping (~ $0.40 for 4 oz and ~ $0.46 for 8 oz ) Of course a co-op would probably have to be done to meet the bulk amounts (~5000 4 oz and ~900 8 oz, lol) Does anyone know anything about this company? And would anyone be interested in a co-op?
  8. I have several people wanting a blueberry scent and I am having a hard time finding what they are looking for. I guess H.I. used to have a blueberry candle that is no longer carried and that scent (or something similar) is what they are wanting. Does anyone have any recommendations for a STRONG blueberry that is not heavy on the "bakery"? This is what I have tried so far, and none of them is what they are wanting: Blueberry (ICS) Blueberry Cheesecake (ICS) Blueberry Muffins (ICS) Blueberry Freesia (ICS) Blueberry Muffin (Peak) Blueberry Cheesecake (JS) My Mama's Blueberry Cobbler (JS) If there weren't so many of them wanting this, I would tell them to forget it!
  9. Nope, the S&C from Tennesse Candle Supply does not smell like strawberries. But it is a very close dupe to the VS version.
  10. I have used all three. The WVS is almost a perfect dupe to the B&BW version, at least to my nose. They are not weak scents, but are instead naturally light scents (at least the WVS is). The WVS has a musk tone to it. The Vanilla Sandalwood did not seem like a light scent to me at all. I generally do not like sandalwood, but this one I like. The vanilla really softens the sharpness of the sandalwood. The olive blossom is very unique scent that I think is probably a love/hate thing. I liked it, everyone else who smelled it thought I was nuts, lol. And FYI I usually hate florals! All three of them threw extremely well for me in J223. Lori has wonderful oils! Other "must trys" if you haven't already are her Cucumber Melon, Sweet Pea, Plumeria, Persimmon Spice, Cookie Jar, Euculyptus Spearmint, and Rosemary Mint. Her Lavender Basil is also really nice. IMO her Cucumber Melon and Sweet Pea are the best dupes available. The only one I have tried that I really did not care for at all was the Warm Apple Pie.
  11. I give 15% hostess credit plus a $10 gift certificate for each booked party that is good at the booked party. I also do a hostess tic tac toe that they win something for each tic tac toe accomplished and if they complete the whole board then they get an additional $25 in hostess credit. The tic-tac-toe prizes are accumulative. If it is a home party I also give the hostess a "thank you" gift valued at $15 (my cost less than $5) just for having the party. I make up a basket of gifts (my cost $1 each or less and all my products). The winners of the games pick their prizes from the basket. Any guest that brings a visitor picks a prize from the basket as does the visitor, etc. At the end of the night anyone that has not won/received a prize gets to pick one. My total "non-hostess" freebies usually cost me about $10. And I do calculate the cost of the invitations and anything else related to the party. After subtracting all my costs I am coming up with about 50% profit per party. Just wondering if that is high, low, about right, etc, lol.
  12. Anybody? Please... lol. I'm just needing a general idea of whether or not I need to trim my cost (I try to be very generous) or if that is about right. I hope that makes sense.
  13. For those of you who do home parties, what is considered a good "profit percentage"? Meaning, once you subtract your cost of making the products, the hostess credit, the freebies, etc, etc, what percentage of that party's income is actual profit? I started doing parties in October and my profit per party is usually around 50% and I was wondering if that was to be expected given the nature of home parties or if I should be doing better than that. The parties have been going great (a total of 7 so far, all $400+ shows except for one $200 book show, with 5 more home and 4 more book shows between now and Feb!!!) I'm just wondering if I should be aiming for a higher profit percentage?
  14. Ditto. First time I burned this one hubby (who never comments about the candles, lol) walked in and said "It smells GOOD in here!" It throws really well and does not have that "fake" smell. I haven't tried Peak's, though.
  15. I do not use glass because I have the same safety concerns you do, Heather. I do use the tins though, and I honestly believe they can be safer than glass period, regardless of wicks. The tin itself does get hot, but the wax does not get extremely hot, at least not with the 17 watt warmers I use. Not enough to cause serious burns, IMO. Yes, I have read where the tins can damage wood, which is why they should only be placed on a heat resistant surface. But as far as a fire hazard goes, I do not see how they could be since they cool down so quickly once they are removed from the heat. The only fire hazard I can see is if the wiring in the warmer was faulty, but you take that chance with any electrical product you use.
  16. I did not have trouble getting the red clover tea to blend, but YUCK! That one reminds me of some household cleaner but I have not figured out which one, lol. That is NOT one of her better FO's IMO. I did not care for the buttercream or cheesecake either - those two were some of the ones that just did not have a strong throw for me.
  17. She really does have some great oils and she is one of the fastest shippers out there - GREAT customer service. But like most suppliers, she does have oils that are weaker and not so great as well. Her Pink Sugar is a perfect dupe of Aqolina (sp?) to my nose and is great if you like that scent. The Japanese Plum will run you out of the house it is so strong and it is very unique scent. The Cantaloupe Lily is great as well. I usually HATE anything that has a floral note, but this one is very nice. The Dreamsicle smells good enough to eat, lol. Citrus and Sage is also nice if you like those type of scents. I am wondering what scents Trish tried. I never did get the White Tea & Ginger to blend and finally gave up on it. She also has several bakery/food type scents that smell wonderful but just do not seem to have a great throw. They might do better if I would bump up the FO, but if it does not throw well for me at 1 oz per lb I move on...
  18. Thanks Jennifer! Do you mind if I ask for price suggestions? I sell the original bear (decorated & injected) for $25. When I asked her what she felt would be a fair price she told me $9 or $10, which seemed way high to me...
  19. I use ICS as well and love it. That's why I was hoping Peak's might be the same thing - that way I could just order from either of them.
  20. Yes, ICS's is wonderful and smells exactly like the perfume to my nose!
  21. Trish have you tried ICS's Pink Sugar? I was wondering how Peak's compares to it.
  22. For those of you who sell injected bears, do you offer to do "re-injections" (for lack of a better word, lol) and if so, what do you charge for something like that? I have been doing bears for slightly less than a year and had never been asked this before. She wanted to know before buying them if I would refresh them and what I would charge. Any thoughts or opinions?
  23. This is the template I use. Click "download template". You can download it as a MS Word document or as a PDF doc. HTH http://www.planetlabel.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=11_26_70&products_id=301
  24. I do not sell B&B - just play and experiment for myself and hubby. But you will want to package it in a bottle to be able to pour it into your hand
