  1. Before I started making candles my partner was approached by should I say "soy nazi" or the people who try that pyramid scheme to recruit others into there kits. The lady was very nice but the price of the kit...oh my. I knew it was a joke. So when I got home I went online to do my research and found other companies kits for reasonable prices and then got hooked. I do soy just because I prefer it but that doesn't mean that I don't still love any candle that I might pick up, if it smells good and looks pretty I'll buy it. But I have to admit know that I make candles and test everyday, I am buying less candles. Don't worry its just the beginning of the season and don't let one bad show get you down.
  2. I have to add another vote for Banilla Hazelnut mocha from MC. Its awesome
  3. I always get mine super fast 2 days last week. My shipping payment came in a second invoice the next day.
  4. Ocean Mist from candlesource. Very fresh and clean.
  5. I decided just to start with soy because of its benefits and I so enjoy the cleaner burn. Soy definately has its challenges but you can make a great candle. I use C3 and love it. I have noticed people don't really care about the frosting. Some people know how soy works.
  6. I started with the same kit. And I really like working with JBN. The wax worked great but I did make a switch to a local supplier because of the shipping costs. I use C3 and I love it. But I did like the JBN oils and they are tested in soy. They also have great customer service but I have to say most of the populat companies do as well. I would suggest to find a local supplier of wax to help save on shipping. Then try some sample packs of oils from other companies out there like Millcreek, Bittercreek, etc. There are so many to play with. Enjoy and have fun with it.
  7. That sucks and I am sorry. I know when you take that chance on people and that happens its disappointing. Did you get their phone #. If yes then call them and tell them. We use that swipy thing thing to but we have them fill out an receipt type of thing and make them leave their phone number just in case on a declined cc or maybe the swipe isn't clear when you go and punch it in. I hope you get back your money in the end.

  10. I think just a UV additive is all you need to add. That's all I use.
  11. I know we all live in different areas but I was just wondering what your craft show fees are like. Where I live they usually run 175 to 275, that is for 1 day to 2 day shows. Just depends. Thanks for any input.
  12. Just wanted candle makers know that like the Soapguild offers insurance, so does Handmade Beauty Network for about he same price. So if you are only making candles and seek insurance contact them.

  18. Okay, by reading this thread I am on my way over to Daystar site to go try a sample pack. She has some dupes that sound real interesting. Better place my order before Stacy goes out of town.
