I just stand mine up with popcicle sticks. I use wick-it wicks and they stand up really well on their own but I sometimes need help with a popcicle stick.I was trying to figure out how to keep the wick straight in tealights and got a great idea....I put the tealight cup right in a tin votive mold. That way I can put a popcicle stick on there to hold the wick up. It works great with a very small dixie cup too. What does everybody else do? What do y'all charge for tealights? Seems like they are actually more costly to do than votives.Dixie

Sounds like too much work to me. I have broken jars trying to get the wick out even after soaking in hot water so be careful!I usually take a knife, and "drill" a hole in the center of the wax, then make circular cuts and dig it out into my pour pot. Once the hole gets p big enough, I can cut down into the remainder and it comes out in chunks away from the glass. It probably is not the safest way to remove wax, but hey, I'm just a stinky old guy

Me too and then I put the hot jar upside down on a paper towel to get out every last drop and after it cools wash in hot soapy water. Good as new!You can remelt it. I put mine on a cookie sheet in the oven, on about 165 degrees until it melts. Just leave it in there until the wax is all melted. I wick a new jar and pour the wax into it, just as you would do if you were pouring it fresh. Then I just clean up the old jar and mark it on the bottom for use as a tester, so I don't grab it for an order.Dixie

I too gave up on jars that don't measure the same from top to bottom. I use Metro Jars from the Jar Store and wick-it wicks and for the first time in a year........no soot. I have used many waxes and wicks and this is where I am at now.

Isn't Steve's Candle Science?I noticed steve's has powdered FO. I was just wondering if anyone has tried it in any application.Dixie

Don't candles kind of sweat when they are burned? Mine do and I just figured that was OK.....should I worry? If a candle is seeping FO when burned, is this just the FO that the wax can't hold or will more than that seep out?Dixie

I think that is a standard math formula. Ha Ha!The question is, how many oodles are in a sh*tload?Dixie

So are you saying the wax with more paraffin has a better throw? I think the 70/30 has a great throw with no sooting. Just curious?Terrie, I liked it just fine...and thought it was a great wax, but the clients kept saying " When are you going to make those candles that SMELLED so strong:undecided ?"......( they were referring to the ones I started with...the paraffin ones)Dixie

I love all the wick-it wicks 700 series. It is a pain to have so many but they are worth it.I second the wickit wicks for tealights. I use a the 700. It works perfect. The premier wicks burn really pretty in natural waxes.Dixie

Most wick companies have tealight tabs. Just make sure that is what you are getting. I have 1000 here from wick-it. I just had to ask for them.thank you so much, I'll try that. I just did a search for the wick tabs. Im guessing the only types made are the long neck and standard - I'm guessing I already have the standard (about a 1/4 tall). Thanks again,, Ill try emailing them.Dixie

Those wicks should work.....how high is your neck tab. Tealight wicks have a special low neck tab. That could be your problem. HTH

Let us know what you think!I absolutely LOVE Tyler candles ( although they DO wick those suckers HOT...even for me...and I like a hot burn!)I do like the 70 Soy/ 30/ Paraffin...but am trying the 30 soy/ 70 paraffin to see if it has a better throw. Guess that is what testing is all about...got to see for myself.

Type of Soy or Soy Blend you use? JBN 70/30
Additives if any? None
Preferred dyes? Peaks for light colors and Pryme for Dark
Preferred wick (Not sizes)? Wick-it Wicks
Pouring temp you recommend? 150
What you do to prevent frosting? Do not have any
What you do to prevent rough tops? Do not have any
Do you do anything to prevent wet spots? No, just live with them...if the candle is completely cooled I do have much less.

I have used a 50/50 blend and I personally like the 70/30 better. That is what Tyler uses, so if you like how they burn, use it. I think but never tested it, that a 50/50 blend would give you better results.Dixie

No, but I use JBN's 70/30 and like it.

What about giving it a tropical or Island name. Everyone is thinking I wish I could get away to somewhere warm right not so why not name it Tropical Paradise or something like that.

I buy my jars from them. I use the 8 oz Metro and the 12 OZ Metro. Great service. Shipping from them to me in Iowa is very expensive tho. But great supplier in my opinion.

I have great luck with JS. No one ever mentions her Grammies Berry Griddlecakes. It is awsome! Smells like berries and coconuts! Give it a try!

I don't use your kind of wax but shouldn't you add your FO at around 170? Just a thought.
