  1. I was trying to figure out how to keep the wick straight in tealights and got a great idea....I put the tealight cup right in a tin votive mold. That way I can put a popcicle stick on there to hold the wick up. It works great with a very small dixie cup too. What does everybody else do? What do y'all charge for tealights? Seems like they are actually more costly to do than votives.
I just stand mine up with popcicle sticks. I use wick-it wicks and they stand up really well on their own but I sometimes need help with a popcicle stick.

  2. I usually take a knife, and "drill" a hole in the center of the wax, then make circular cuts and dig it out into my pour pot. Once the hole gets p big enough, I can cut down into the remainder and it comes out in chunks away from the glass.

It probably is not the safest way to remove wax, but hey, I'm just a stinky old guy :D

Sounds like too much work to me. I have broken jars trying to get the wick out even after soaking in hot water so be careful!

  3. You can remelt it. I put mine on a cookie sheet in the oven, on about 165 degrees until it melts. Just leave it in there until the wax is all melted. I wick a new jar and pour the wax into it, just as you would do if you were pouring it fresh. Then I just clean up the old jar and mark it on the bottom for use as a tester, so I don't grab it for an order.
Me too and then I put the hot jar upside down on a paper towel to get out every last drop and after it cools wash in hot soapy water. Good as new!

  4. Terrie, I liked it just fine...and thought it was a great wax, but the clients kept saying " When are you going to make those candles that SMELLED so strong:undecided ?"......( they were referring to the ones I started with...the paraffin ones)
So are you saying the wax with more paraffin has a better throw? I think the 70/30 has a great throw with no sooting. Just curious?

  5. thank you so much, I'll try that. I just did a search for the wick tabs. Im guessing the only types made are the long neck and standard - I'm guessing I already have the standard (about a 1/4 tall). Thanks again,, Ill try emailing them.
Most wick companies have tealight tabs. Just make sure that is what you are getting. I have 1000 here from wick-it. I just had to ask for them.

  6. I absolutely LOVE Tyler candles ( although they DO wick those suckers HOT...even for me...and I like a hot burn!)

I do like the 70 Soy/ 30/ Paraffin...but am trying the 30 soy/ 70 paraffin to see if it has a better throw. Guess that is what testing is all about...got to see for myself.

Let us know what you think!
